The Thames And Other Waterways The Church of St Mary-At-Hill has a rich history, dating back centuries before the Great Fire Of London, after which, Sir Christopher Wren added the tower and other elements which still exist today.

Having been invited to exhibit at St Mary-At-Hill, I saw the opportunity of revisiting the River Thames, a subject I had not painted for many years.

A large part of this exhibition is dedicated to the river, from Galleon’s Reach in the east to Richmond in the west. Familiar landmarks such as Westminster and Tower Bridges never fail to be attractive subjects, the surrounding buildings changing almost daily. Certainly, many favourite skylines, such as from Wapping, looking west, are so changed that it is now impossible to find old viewpoints from which I painted the river skylines, many years ago .

To exhibit in such a wonderful and historic building as St Mary-At-Hill is quite a challenge and also very exciting.
