80 year old Care home Team Leader celebrates 48 years of service

Ita Graven from Elizabeth House care home in Parkstone enjoyed a double celebration recently when she not only turned 80 but was surprised with a special afternoon tea to commemorate her amazing 48 years of continuous service. Care South’s Chief Executive, Simon Bird joined the team to celebrate the occasion and personally thank Ita for her dedication to Care South. “We are lucky to have lots of long-term team members who have stayed with us well in excess of 25 years, but Ita’s 48 years is really quite incredible and there certainly seems to be no stopping her with her energy and enthusiasm”.
Ita is currently even caring for residents younger than herself and quipped “The 48 years have gone by in a flash! I love the work; every day is unique, and I’ve made a good living out of doing something I enjoy.”
The partnership will promote Beryl’s suitability for first and last mile journeys, making it quick and simple to link with an Enterprise Car Club car, which can then be used for longer journeys or those that simply need four wheels rather than two.
Beryl Partnerships Lead, Ben Lee, said:
“Ultimately, we want to inspire more people to take up sustainable travel options and help make our towns and cities cleaner and greener spaces in which to live, work and visit. By partnering with Enterprise Car Club, we have a great opportunity to show people how flexible and convenient shared schemes can be in helping them get from A to B.”
