August 1 - December 1: New Haven

Introducing Cookie39’s Free Cookie of the Month, 39 Broadway, New Haven, CT. The first 39 people to visit Cookie39 on the 1st day of each month in 2025 will receive a FREE Cookie of the Month. Doors open daily at 11am sharp. First come, first served FREE 11am

August 2: Westport

Free First Saturdays, Westport Museum, 25 Avery Place, Westport, CT. First Saturdays are a great opportunity to experience what we have to offer at the Westport Museum free of charge on the first Saturday of each month. FREE 11-5 pm

August 2: Milford

48th Annual Sand Sculpture Contest, Walnut Beach, 113 E Broadway, Milford, CT. Create Anything from Lobsters to Mermaids to Astronauts. Be as creative as you’d like. All ages and skill levels are welcome. FREE

August 2: Stratford

Hop Yard Hoedown, Two Roads Brewing, 1700 Stratford Ave, Stratford. Join us as we turn the Hop Yard into a full-on Western adventure. We’re talking mechanical bull rides, line dancing lessons, live music, family fun, and more. 12:00 – 4:00pm . Tickets: $12 per adult; Kids 15 & under are free

August 5: East Haven

Sensory Friendly Tuesday Afternoons, The Shore Line Trolley Museum, 17 River Street, East Haven. Does your child dream of a trolley ride, but crowds, lines, or loud noises pose a challenge? We’ve got the perfect solution! Introducing our special Sensory-Friendly Tuesday Afternoons in August. $10 - no admission fee for caregivers. trolley rides at 1 & 2pm on Tuesday afternoons in August

August 14: Manchester

Children’s Performance Series: Curious Creatures, Wickham Park, 1329 Middle Turnpike West, Manchester. Learn interesting facts about chinchillas, flying squirrels, a tortoise, snakes...oh my! Watch your kids smile as they raise their hand to hold the exotic creatures! $7 Vehicle entry Fee; 11am

August 16: Washington

Hollister House Garden Explorers: Discovering the Colors and Shapes of Flowers, 300 Nettleton Hollow Road, Washington. Hollister House Garden Explorers is a series of Saturday morning activities designed to introduce children in grades K – 5 to the garden. This program is offered free of charge, but advanced registration is required. 10am –11:15am

August 17: Mashantucket

Back to School Bash and Backpack Giveaway, Tanger at Foxwoods, 455 Trolley Line Blvd, Mashantucket. Children in K-8th grade, must be present to pick up a Free backpack and school supplies; backpacks will be given on a first come first served basis and while supplies last. 12pm – 3pm

August 23: New London

New London Pirate night, Parade Plaza, 50 State Street, New London. Enjoy a musical voyage with Captain Lance D. Boyle of the Picaroon Princess and his spirited First Mate, Truly Scrumptious. Share songs, swap stories, and learn new pirate tunes together! FREE 5:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

August 30: Trumbull

LivFree Movie Night, Indian Ledge Park, Trumbull. Free to the public! Foodtrucks, games, vendors & more. Bring your beach chairs & blankets, and enjoy the movie! Event starts at 4:30 p.m., movie to begin at sunset. FREE

August 30-31: New London

Pirate Days, Hempsted House, 11 Hempstead Street, New London, CT. Come out and explore an encampment where you’ll experience the life of a pirate. Stay for ship making, racing, crafts, and walking the plank like a pirate! FREE
