May 3: Wilton
Mother’s Day Paper Flower Making workshop for kids, Wilton Historical Society, 224 Danbury Road, Wilton. In this fun and creative session, kids will craft their very own paper flower using tissue paper, construction paper, wire, markers, and—of course—love to create a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork! $25.00 for WHS Members. $35.00 for Non-members, Time: 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
May 10: Bristol
Mommy & Me Floral Workshop, The Bristol Bazaar LLC, 67 Race St, Bristol. Learn the basics of floral design while you work side by side to create two beautiful floral arrangements. The cost of this workshop includes fresh-cut seasonal flowers for one small and one medium arrangement, two vases, and guided instruction. $59 per person, $17 per extra child. 11am - 12:30pm
May 10: Essex
Mommy & Me Tea, Essex Steam Train & Riverboat, 1 Railroad Ave, Essex. Take in the beautiful spring scenery on this one hour round-trip train ride through the Connecticut River Valley, as you enjoy this intimate family excursion. Delight in an assortment of teas, finger sandwiches, pastries, and more, aboard a beautifully restored 1920s era Pullman Dining car. $54.99 per person age 2 and older, Children under 2 must sit on adult lap. 11:30 pm - 1:30 pm
May 10-11: Fairfield
The 88th annual Dogwood Festival, Greenfield Hill Congregational Church on Old Academy Road. Events at the festival include live entertainment, an animal live show, a magic show, crafts and games for kids and guided history tours and more. Fairfield’s Dogwood Festival will kick off on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and continue on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

5th Annual Bicycles on Main, 200 Main Street, Wethersfield. From May 1st to May 31st, on a beautiful spring day you can come visit the heart of Old Wethersfield’s historic and cultural district to see decorated bicycles in front of colonial homes, museums, and the local shops, restaurants, and businesses all on one walkable/bike-able street! Free
May 2: Norwich
Storytime at Slater, Slater Memorial Museum, 108 Crescent St., Norwich. Slater Memorial Museum is excited to partner with Otis Library for our very own storytime hosted at the museum on the first Friday of every month! 10:30am-11:30am, FREE
May 2: Simsbury
Sk8 to Elimin8 Cancer “Frozen 5K” Public Skate Party, international Skating Center of CT – iSCC, 1375 Hopmeadow St, Simsbury. Blippi: Join The Band, The Oneglia Auditorium, 68 Main St, Torrington. Blippi will be joined onstage by Meekah along with their singing and dancing buddies and LIVE musicians. They’ll explore what makes music, including sounds, rhythms and instruments, with fan-favorite Blippi hits. 6pm
