IMPAKT Center for Media Culture (Utrecht, The Netherlands) brings Dutch artists, curators and designers to Metamarathon 2019 as part of the IMPAKT Zone programme. The programme we’re presenting at Metamarathon 2019 includes talks, performances, workshops, exhibitions and more. On this flyer you can find an overview of our programme. PROGRAMME 19:00 — 20:30 Friday 15 March Drinking With the Dutch Location The Algo Mas Mezzanine The Dutch participants, artists, curators and designers welcome you in the IMPAKT Zone. Hosted by Generalkonsulat des Köni­greichs der Niederlande.

00:00 — 01:30 Saturday 16 March YouTube Battle Location Kitchen Who can find the most bizarre, funny, touching or ridiculous videos on YouTube? The theme of tonight is of course Robotics! Share your unknown gems. Everyone can participate. The public decides who wins the night!

03:00 — 08:00 Saturday 16 March YouTube VJ Sessions Location Kitchen Spent the night with surprising, funny and bizarre video’s selected by our YouTube VJ’s. With WWW’S Dustycorner (smashing rainbow coloured vids) by Donna Verheijden and other sets and playlists.


10:00 — 11:00 Saturday 16 March Meet & Mingle Location The Algo Mas Mezzanine Dutch-German Meeting for Networking between Dutch Delegation and NRW/German professionals (artists institutions, organization). Come by and meet with us!

How can robots add to our quality of life? What areas of our existence should we preserve as the terrains of authentic human interaction? And should we be worried that in dealing with robots we will become like robots ourselves more and more? With performance by Marianna Maruyama

What options are already available? What will commercial developers bring to the market in the near future? How can these new technologies help us? Should we worry when fantasies get more and more real? Two presentations followed by a panel Ine Gevers (curator ROBOT LOVE): Do we allow ourselves to be tickled by robots? Dare we lose control? Love as the precondition for the fusion between human and machines. Donna Verheijden (artist): Virtual Intimacy – Falling in love with ones and zeroes How and what to love in todays’ era? oneseconds (multidisciplinary collective): When toys and sexmachines transform from binary to intelligent, from lust to love should they be able to say no?
