Classof2025andBeyond

Studentsarerequiredtoearnaminimumof25creditstograduatefromImmaculateHighSchool.Thechartsbelowreflect theminimumcorecourserequirements.Pleaseconsultwithyourschoolcounselorfortherecommendeddistributionof coursesandcreditsmostsuitedtoyoureducationalandcareergoals.

ImmaculateHighSchoolcourseofferingsaredesignedtoprovideanopportunityforstudentstopursuetheirinterestsas wellasmeettherequirementsestablishedbytheDioceseofBridgeportandtheStateofConnecticut Theprocessfor selectingcoursesincludesstudentsreviewingthecourseguide,registeringelectronicallyandmeetingwithacounselor Registrationforcoursesshouldrepresentafirmcommitmenttoenrollmentincoursesforthefollowingyear.However,a studentmayrequestaprogramchangeinJuneonadatespecifiedbytheCounselingDepartment

Course Levels

ThislevelofcourseworkhasasyllabusapprovedbytheCollegeBoardandaffiliatedcolleges.Studentsmustmeet stringentprerequisitesandareexpectedtoengageinacollege-levelinstructionmodelwheretheteacherfacilitates instruction,andthestudentisindependent.StudentsmusttaketherequiredAPorECEexamaswellasthecourseexam. ImmaculatestudentshavetheopportunitytoparticipateinonlinecoursesnotofferedatImmaculateHighSchoolthrough VirtualHighSchool(VHS).Coursesareopentostudentswhohavecompletedourprogramandwanttotakeadvanced classesnotofferedinourcoursecurriculum.Teacherandadministrationendorsementisrequired.

ImmaculateHighSchoolofferscoursesincollaborationwithTheVirtualHighSchool,anonprofitorganizationbasedin Maynard,Massachusetts,whichservesasaportalthroughwhichschoolsandteachersthroughouttheworldofferonline courses.OurpartnershipwithVHSallowsustoexpandourcourseofferingstoprovidestudentswiththemostchallenging andextensiveacademiccurriculumpossibletaughtbycertifiedteachersinaccreditedschools

Prerequisites

Theabilitytolearnindependently,adheretocommitmentsandsubmitassignmentsontimeareessentialtothesuccessof aVHSstudent Studentsenrolledinanonlinecoursemustdemonstratestrongtimemanagementskills,disciplinedwork habits,andgoodproblem-solvingskills.
