Timeless is defined as: not affected by the passage of time or changes in fashion. Lasting. Classic. Enduring. Ageless. Permanent.

MEET THE TEAM SANDRA FORBIS

A LETTER FROM THE

Partner, Imagemark

We’re not completely sure why, but we have been reminiscing more and more about the homes we have featured in past issues. It could be because we are wondering how the homeowners and craftsmen who we consider a part of our family are doing. Or, it could be we understand what a comfort it is to have a timeless home where we find shelter. Or, is it because it seemed as if time stood still for a bit?

DONNA VIESSMAN

We’ve all shared many feelings over the past few months and those feelings led us to the need to look through several of our past issues and revisit some old and not so old Timeless Treasures. After 25 years of featuring beautiful homes, we have a lot to look back on!

Digital Marketing Manager

CHRIS DOWNING

Partner, Imagemark

We understand that each homeowner’s dream reflects where they are in life and how their home will function for their family. Home is where we hang our hat, no matter if it’s a child’s ball cap or an adult’s golf hat. The homes featured in this issue show how good design may look different for everyone. Whether it meets the needs of a young couple whose priority was to have a home that could stand up to an active family, or if it caters to the needs of a retired couple on the opposite end of the spectrum. Both of these homes offer much inspiration for whatever time of life you are in.

Best Regards!

When Greg and Barb Block retired and decided to move back to Jefferson City, they were ready for this home to be their last. Having moved numerous times throughout their marriage, they were ready to break from the mold and build a custom home. As a designer in Kansas City, Barb had helped other homeowners make design selections and helped with architectural plans. In their new home, you can certainly tell these design skills were put to use as many custom choices and designs were introduced. They began their design journey by looking at several plans. After narrowing it down to a few options that they liked, they worked with Paulette Kreter to piece the best parts of them together. Then, Bentlage Custom Homes helped bring their 4,200 square foot home to life.

The Blocks had so much fun building this house. Having curated a collection of their favorite furnishings, this home tells a story of their lives together and brings back many fond memories. This open floorplan style home allows them to blend some of their existing, more traditional pieces alongside contemporary design touches. Upon walking through the glasspaneled double doors, you’re greeted with a light-filled open concept layout. Immediately to the left is a formal dining area where a beautiful, rectangular light fixture makes a statement over their family-sized table. On the far wall, she designed a niche to perfectly fit their favorite 8-foot hutch. It provides an anchor and a punch of color and personality while also providing convenient, functional storage for things you only use when entertaining. In the living room, Kent Bentlage built beams to accent the vaulted ceiling, tying in with those in the dining room ceiling. Guiding your eye upward is a stone-faced gas fireplace with an Amish-made mantle. Flanked on either side by custom designed built-ins to showcase their collections, this creates a strong focal point for the living room. A large screened porch lets natural light stream into the space and provides a beautiful view of the woods behind their home. In the adjoining kitchen, a large island with white granite and white base cabinetry brightens the space even more! Along the walls, the custom cabinetry is designed with tall doors accenting the ceiling height and an open bookcase to display objects and well-worn cookbooks.

A true chef’s dream, the kitchen also features a fullsized side-by-side refrigerator and freezer and stainless-steel gas cooktop. By changing up backsplash tile to a herringbone pattern behind the cooktop, the wall remains visually light but provides a pop of interest. Overhead, the painted hood continues to lighten the space while tying in with the island. A large, efficient pantry keeps everything easily accessible without cluttering up the main cabinet storage. A smaller nook attached to the kitchen provides a casual dining space surrounded by windows overlooking the property.

The master suite is a space for this couple to relax. Over their four-poster bed is a ceiling treatment that includes a beam inset in an X pattern with their light fixture hanging down from the central point. The small sitting area creates a quiet place to retreat while the carpet, area rugs and blinds add the finishing touches to the soothing design.

The master bath features his and hers vanities, giving each homeowner their own space to get ready for the day. The bright neutrals used throughout create a light-filled spa-like atmosphere. The bath also features both a free-standing tub and a generous walk-in shower, providing the ultimate functionality and options. Inside the shower, the tile shimmers adding a special accent and elegance.

Since the Blocks were downsizing, the main level was designed with their specific needs in mind. They would never have to go to the lower level unless they just wanted to. Everything on the main level is there and ready as they age in place. The plans for the lower level kept in mind the needs of their guests.

As you go downstairs, the stairwell wall is accented with stone, which results in the staircase becoming a wonderful architectural design element. The wrought iron railing with custom-made stair spindles makes a striking addition. When their children come to visit, they have plenty of room for fun activities and for private family bedrooms. They chose a family-friendly floating laminate floor, a sectional and large TV for family movie nights.

SUPPLIER LIST

In the end, the Blocks have created a lovingly crafted home full of the pieces and memories that they love. Along the way, Barb searched until she found exactly what she had in her mind for any new additions. By sourcing all the details, such as the lighting fixtures and finishes that were used, they were able to create this cohesive design that pulled it all together.

Mid-Missouri Market Update I must get asked ten times a day, “what’s the market like right now?" The truth is demand remains high and the market is HOT! In the last 12 months, I have experienced more bidding wars on listings than my previous 15 years in the business combined! It seems like our specialty these days! However, the need to price your home accordingly remains a key element in proper marketing, as any home sitting on the market for long is "market worn" faster than ever before. It’s more important than ever to get it right the first time! The reason for this market boom is created by a combination of low inventory, historically low interest rates and a delayed spring market boom. The stay at home order named real estate as an essential industry, and families were able to buy and sell real estate. However, many found themselves suddenly homeschooling kids or working from home, and for many, the best decision was to hit the “pause” button on selling/buying. For some, the “shelter in place order” created even more urgency in their need to find a home! Now that many activities have resumed, and many are working inside the workplace again, it seems business as usual for our summer real estate market with the addition of pent up demand from spring’s “pause” button. Bottom line is that there is a “new normal” for all industries among Mid-Missouri. Business owners have all had to pivot and adjust quickly to many changes. REALTORS® have worked hard to ensure that the families that need to buy or sell a home have the right to safely do so! If you want to buy a home, we are here to answer any questions you have regarding your specific situation. If you are a seller, we will tailor our marketing approach to align exactly to your goals in selling your home.

SUMMER 2020

As a builder, Jason Otke knows what it takes to create a home that is built to last. But at the end of the day it is family that influences a home’s design and function. In creating their own home, Jason and his wife, Jami wanted to create a house that could both be a comfortable haven and hold its own against two rambunctious young boys. Keeping it in the family, they turned to Ken Otke Construction and designer Angie Zimmerman-Laughlin to bring their home to life. Upon entering the home, you are surrounded by warmth. The foyer opens to a two-story height living room. A tall, light-colored stone fireplace anchors the room. With a subtle but interesting flare at its base, it capitalizes on the room’s height and guides your eye upward all the way to the ceiling. In both the fireplace and the ceiling, they’ve incorporated an element of family, utilizing hearth stones and dark, rustic beams from an old family barn. Mimicking the look of the wooden beams, they then used wood veneer to create a unique feature wall, framing the double sliding doors that opens the living room to an outdoor seating area.

CAPITALLIFESTYLES.NET

41

In this living room and throughout the home, they strike a balance of strong contrasts. Just as the light stonework is pairing with the dark woods, for their furnishings, a light cloth couch is paired with dark leather armchairs. The combination of materials creates a style that is rustic lodge meets contemporary. Throughout the first floor, they’ve installed radiant heating beneath a luxury vinyl flooring that is nearly indistinguishable from real wood. Not only does this flooring feel great but it is a durable foundation for their family.

The living room opens to the kitchen where a large island becomes the hub for this busy family. The island’s distressed, white cabinet base contrasts with its dark-veined countertop.

Strong, chunky legs help hold up the nearly two tons of granite. Then this color scheme is reversed for the wall cabinets and counters. The dark wood cabinets and a custom dark wood-clad vent

hood stretch to meet the ceiling, accenting its height while a light cream granite and slate back splash brighten up the space.

Overhead, rustic pendant lights repeat an X-pattern from the glass-front cabinetry. Similarly, this crisscross style is carried over to a custom designed door concealing the walk-in pantry with brick-look tile. The adjoining dining room is a casual space where the Otkes can enjoy a family meal, while taking in views of their back yard. Again, overhead, they have inset the dark barn wood into the ceiling above the dining table.

The Standouts of Streaming I’m certain I don’t need to remind you that things have been...a bit rough to say the least for all of us film fans. With any and all tent-pole theatrical releases being delayed for the foreseeable future, we’ve been starved for new material to talk about, as well as distraught that we now have to wait at least another year for our most anticipated projects! However, in these technology-driven times we all live in, there is plenty of good stuff out there, so as per usual my amazing readers, it’s time to cut through all the static and shine the spotlight on entertainment I feel is worth checking out on our favorite streaming/on-demand services. While I’m sure most of us have been browsing the categories of Netflix binging show after show to no end, there’s much more out there deserving of your attention, so we’re here to talk about them today!

The Invisible Man (Amazon Prime/iTunes)

The first great genre release of 2020 is now available both digitally and physically, and if you were someone who missed it on the big screen, then there is no better time to remedy that than now. Leigh Whannell, the man behind the highly underrated sci-fi feature Upgrade, in addition to penning the scripts for many Saw and Insidious films, steps back into the directors chair with a highly tense and suspenseful update of a classic monster tale. It’s no secret that Elisabeth Moss delivers a powerful performance in The Handmaid’s Tale and her talents shine just as brightly here in a story where you can’t help but root for her to win against an unseen threat she knows is there but, unfortunately, not many others believe in. It’s a horror/ sci-fi hybrid with all the best ingredients: thrills, scares, stakes, tension, and not to mention a remarkable sense of direction and subtle creepiness! In short, a monster flick that finally does its predecessors justice while molding its own identity for the modern age!

The Lodge (Hulu) A completely different but nonetheless effective horror film which flew a bit under the radar this year but is absolutely worth the search, and thankfully, our

64

CAPITAL LIFESTYLES

SUMMER 2020

friends at Hulu now have it available for instant streaming. Sure, the setup of a small group of people getting stuck in a cabin out in the middle of nowhere and running into supernatural elements is nothing new, but beware viewers, as all expectations of what’s to come will quickly be pulled out from under you and leave you at an utter loss for words by the time the credits roll! I don’t want to give too much away here as it’s really something that you need to see for yourself, but I will say that its twists and turns as well as genuinely amazing performances by its two child actors are nothing to miss, and it remains my favorite film I’ve seen in 2020 thus far! Plus, it takes place around Christmas, so if you’re a horror fan who loves your holiday fables with a good dose of dread and gloom, then this is definitely for you!

Onward (Disney+) The latest effort from animation pioneers Pixar Studios is one I hate to admit I felt was a bit lackluster upon my first viewing of it. However, as time went on and the film was given ample time to bake in my brain, I found myself getting more and more into it, and now that it’s available on Disney’s wildly popular streaming service, I can’t help but take the time to recommend it. This charming tale of brotherly camaraderie, whimsical adventure, and the strength of familial bonds is a pure example of entertainment we

should be showing our children. Even the most jaded adult will no doubt feel it pluck at the heartstrings. Also, if you’re a fantasy fan who was disappointed by Bright’s take on magic and mythical creatures in a modern setting, then this is something that will absolutely fill that void and then some, as well as give players of Dungeons and Dragons plenty of goodies to revel in! It may not exactly be one of Pixar’s best efforts, but it’s still a very good one, so if you have some kiddos stuck inside with you right now, take some time to show them this on Disney+ rather than...I don’t know, wasting twenty dollars to watch Trolls: World Tour once!

The Twilight Zone (CBS All Access)

A few have the opinion that this latest take on the cult classic TV anthology, now hosted by comedy/horror icon Jordan Peele pales in comparison to the original, and some of the reincarnations and imitators that followed. This...is something I wholeheartedly disagree with, and if you dismissed it at first you should give it a second chance. While I do have a bit of an issue with the blatantly obvious Easter eggs that pop up in many episodes calling back to the original Rod Serling series, that is not nearly enough for me to disregard this batch of cautionary tales which hold more than enough relevance in the modern age. Jordan Peele has proven over the past few years that he understands genre fiction to a T, and I couldn’t think of a better choice to host this new series as he oozes natural charisma and even an odd sense of swagger amidst the show’s eerie atmosphere! I, of course, recommend you watch the whole first season, but some really great entry-point episodes are The Comedian, A Traveler, Not All Men, Point of Origin, Blurryman, and my personal favorite: Replay. It’s weird, it’s chilling, it’s smart, it’s poignant, it’s The Twilight Zone, and it’s calling for you to be transported to that strange and fantastical dimension once more!

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (Netflix)

This is one of the best shows that Netflix has to offer its younger audiences and I will hear no words to the contrary! I know that many people who grew up the 80s were taken aback by the main character’s new design as well as the complete makeover of the fantasy world she lives

in, but I firmly believe in reviewing pieces of media on their own merits as opposed to being closed minded and condemning something due to a supposed “ruined childhood.” With that out of the way, I can say with absolute certainty that this is a sweet, emotional, bright, colorful, cheerful, and even action-packed animated series which stands as another example of top-tier children’s entertainment! In fact, I’d say this current incarnation of the fantastical heroine far surpasses the 80s version in several categories, from animation, writing, characters, action, and even heart-wrenching themes! So much so that the adults listening in while their kids watch may even find themselves wrapped up in the story! In short, this is an animated series right up there with Avatar: The Last Airbender and Gravity Falls in terms of quality and I can’t recommend it enough to both kids and adults alike! One more thing: words can’t describe how much I identify with Swift Wind in this! Seriously, I love that flying horse so much!

Harley Quinn (DC Universe)

And now for a completely different animated series, this one most certainly is aimed strictly at adults, though one that is much smarter and more emotionally resonant than most crass content aimed at an older audience these days. I’m always a bit skeptical whenever I see a new product from DC as their efforts appear to be much more hit or miss than Marvel, but from the first episode of this series I was instantly hooked by a story that finally does everyone’s favorite insane clown woman her due justice! Even amidst its frequent barrages of vulgarity and bloodshed, it somehow never manages to lose its heart and stands as a fittingly dramatic series about human relationships and, oddly enough, keeping love alive in times of turmoil. It sounds really weird when I say that, and I acknowledge that it definitely isn’t for everyone, but it’s certainly something that feels like it was simply made for someone like me! It’s only on its second season thus far and given this particular streaming service’s unpredictability in terms of keeping shows around for the long haul, I am a bit scared it won’t be renewed, but even if it isn’t, I’m glad for the amount of joy it’s given me and I highly recommend it for any fan of the truly insane, quick-witted, and surprisingly whimsical!

Thanks again everyone! Wishing you all health and happiness in these tough times, and I hope to see you again later!

As Grady would share his ideas with Carole, she would then use her skill as a designer to implement them. When he saw something he liked for his new home, they worked together to find just

the right place for it. Unique furniture and accessories were chosen for their individual style and practical function creating a daring yet comfortable space when grouped or standing alone.

Who wouldn’t love to have a sunroom like this in their home? It absolutely radiates with comfort and charm. The one element that is most important in this space has to be the natural light. It brings warmth and life to the room as it moves across the walls during the course of the day. It is the perfect complement to the farmhouse style with the blend of painted brick, simple design and shiplap that soars to the ceiling. The kitchen was designed to be cook-friendly, family-friendly and entertainment-friendly. The all white perimeter cabinetry captures

your attention with its understated simple lines. The white arabesque tile and black granite adds drama and complements the shaker style to deliver a dramatic result. They have a pantry hidden behind the door next to the refrigerator... there is a lot of space in a small footprint. The extensive island is topped with quartz with sparkle accents. Upon entering, the house reveals the open concept living room. A tall stone fireplace leads your eye up to the tall 12-foot coffered ceilings. The homeowner skillfully chose a mix of contrasting materials which makes

the cohesive design pop: white trim highlights the stained doors, a dark wood fan stands out against the white coffers, and the stone fireplace texture plays nicely against the warm tone of the hardwood flooring.

Opposite the fireplace wall, the room opens to the kitchen. The opening is framed with well-crafted millwork. They’ve cleverly designed this beam to create a photo ledge where the homeowner can display treasured memories of their family. The homeowner took every opportunity to bring together function and style in her dream kitchen. A large, black painted island with light-colored granite anchors this space. Warm stained cabinetry lines the walls. Again, contrasting materials in the design, she chose black-toned granite countertops. The textured stone backsplash ties into the living room fireplace. Though the ceiling here is lower, it still feels airy as light streams in from the large picture windows.

The engaging and complementary design adds special touches without overdoing it. Starting with a fireplace covered floor to ceiling with 12 x 24 tiles, it soars to thirteen feet. The modern design continues on the bookcases which flank the fireplace. Shimmery cork wallpaper was chosen to add texture and create the

Once you walk into the space, you realize that the entire second story above much of the open concept living area has been left exposed. They created a truly rustic, industrial retreat. Old meets new. Traditional meets modern. Natural meets man-made. Metal accents

An exposed duct running across the ceiling even further enhances the industrial style. With the homeowners’ strong vision for their space, Rachel and Tina of JC Mattress and Furniture Showrooms helped them finish off the design and find the perfect furnishings, lighting and area rugs.

Overhead mahogany inlaid tray ceiling is a stunning detail that adds character, dimension and texture. A pair of wire light fixtures echoes the shape of the backsplash tiles. Their airy design is just the right touch to illuminate the space. In the adjacent dining area, she paired her round table with the gorgeous dining chandelier, that has both glamorous and classic elements. The intimate space goes along with the theme of livability and warmth in this home. The room is filled with natural light to add to the open breathable feel. The home is truly the embodiment of the craftsman aesthetic‌ Simple living and high thinking. Where simple pleasures are appreciated and embraced.

ROOM FOR TWO

Dave Burks was already amid construction when Tom and Patsy Hoeferlin fell in love with this house and decided to make it theirs. At the heart of this openconcept home is the kitchen, which gets a great deal of use as Patsy loves to cook. The central island is multi-functional with wooden bead, dual drum shaped light fixtures overhead, creating a modern, yet glamorous appeal.

Patsy’s love of baking necessitated a second island. The stunning 90

design and custom finish on this unique baker’s table perfectly suites the impeccable design. The beautiful cabinetry utilizes simple lines to create a powerful impact on the open plan. Mixing colors, finishes, materials and textures always make a big design impact. These details may seem subtle, but when combined they are what makes the design come to life. In their living room, there is plenty to catch the eye. The neutral palette

enhances this relaxing space. A large wool rug anchors the space and seating was chosen that is both comfy and beautiful. Their use of materials in the living room delivers a sense of urban elegance. Carefully chosen accessories appropriately scaled for the space create an intriguing display in this room. Looking back, Tom and Patsy's personal touches have transformed a house into their home and makes them smile every time they walk through the front door.

Beautiful things happen when homeowners team up with a builder who shares their vision of quality and creativity. While working to create their home, this family teamed up with Dave Burks Construction, creating the a perfect party space outside. This family's large pool includes a water feature that splashes playfully during the day and glows with color-changing LED lights at night. Behind the water feature is a shuffle board court for some friendly competition. An outdoor pavilion is the focal point of the backyard oasis. A wood burning fireplace anchors the seating area, providing warmth on chilly evenings. It also includes an outdoor kitchen done in all stainless steel with a charcoal grill and beverage center. A RELAXING ENVIRONMENT Building their new home was quite an undertaking, but thanks to the craftsmanship of Kent Bentlage Construction, it was a pleasure. The outdoor area wouldn’t be complete without the pool. Even when they aren’t swimming in it, water provides a relaxing element in the outdoor environment.

A wall of folding glass doors opens to the lanai. They took advantage of the remarkable options in outdoor furniture and fabric design to create an outdoor retreat that could be used in every season. The stone fireplace provides warmth, and the large TV can be seen from the pool or enjoyed from the cozy seating area.

The finishing touches were given utmost attention, and it’s nothing short of amazing how she managed to unify the design from room-to-room with repeated elements. The owners filled the home with light and bright spaces to be the backdrop for living as their everyday life unfolds.

BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT

When these homeowners purchased their home, they knew they would be embarking on a remodel project. Working with Ryan Schrimpf Construction, their interior design features radiate out to their exterior living space. The covered patio acts as a relaxing transition space from the inside to the outside. Sitting there

you can watch all of the action and enjoy a beautiful view of the large trees and blue sky. Can't you just picture yourself enjoying a drink and taking everything in?

The pool house setting is the perfect example of how a pool scape is more than the pool. Every component—from the lounging area with a cozy fireplace and large

TV, to the fully-equipped outdoor kitchen, and the reflective quality of the water—blends beautifully with the home’s style. Aside from comfort and function, it’s the epicenter of their life and a reflection of who they are! Bringing family and friends together for good food and lots of laughter is a regular occurrence.

SEE YOU BY THE POOL! When David and Julie Erwin decided to build their new home, they told Kent Bentlage they wanted a kitchen bar that had room for everyone. Julie had found a picture of what she had in mind, and Kent made it happen... they built the house around the bar. Outside is just as much of a gathering space. Sitting on 15 acres, they have enough land to give them privacy and plenty 102

of room to have fun! Whether it’s time for something simple and spontaneous or something more elaborate, everyone can come and get together! With some of their good friends, the Erwins took the plunge and installed a large L-shaped pool themselves. They now enjoy their pool as much as possible and share the fun with their friends. The pool is already a welcome

relief from the heat and is the center of their back-yard oasis. They’ve thought of everything. When it’s time for a nap, the double lounger offers a convenient shade canopy. A chimenea provides warmth, and it’s easy to spend evenings whiling away the hours watching the flames give way to glowing embers. The stainless-steel grill and outdoor kitchen with a beverage

ESCAPE FROM THE 8 TO 5 These homeowners teamed up with Nathan Voss to create a magical landscape where one space seamlessly transitions to another. From the main level of the home, you step out onto a deck with an unexpected shade structure. Made of aluminum, a custom laser cut pattern casts playful shadows that reflect the leaf design onto the surfaces below and provide unique heat protection. 104

SUMMER 2020

Down below, Nathan created an additional stamped concrete patio, tying this space in with the rest. Curved stone and concrete bench seating frame the patio and provide overflow seating closer to the central gas fire pit. Continuing the continuity of the design, the concrete has a unique shadowy blue hue similar to the deep blue of a pond.

For the lower landscape design, the homeowners enlisted the help of Mick Hartzler to put together just the right mix of plants while being very mindful of the level of maintenance that would be involved as everything matures. A skilled restraint was used so as not to overpower the landscape, but to honor the classic design.

FROM OVERGROWN TO FUN AND FUNCTIONAL These homeowners loved the charm of their older home… everything except the back yard! A complete renovation of the backyard landscape was needed, and they knew it wouldn’t be an easy task. The homeowners decided to call in a team of professionals! Stockman Stoneworks, Vaughan Pools and Boulder Creek Landscaping collaborated to rescue the family’s 106

backyard and make it the resort retreat they wanted. The family’s list of needs was easy maintenance, and a natural oasis and living space the family would be able to use for years to come. Since the homeowners have younger children, their main goal was to make the backyard functional and fun! The companies brought in the heavy equipment and completely

tore out the old yard. Like most Central Missouri homes, it wasn’t level. This called for Stockman Stoneworks to create a level space by adding dirt and building 4 foot retaining walls topped with their pilaster rails system. With the level foundation, they set about their biggest challenge: creating the multiple living areas that the family wanted. The new design included areas for entertaining, dining,

After the retaining walls were complete, Stockman Stoneworks installed the paver decking. Design details made a big impact on the project. Beautifully crafted extra wide curved stairways were created to easily access each living area. The scope of work, creative design and quality craftsmanship

completely transformed the backyard. The only remaining original feature, the gazebo, was able to be restored and integrated into the project. Through extensive planning, tears that were shed during construction and many unexpected surprises, the family ended up extremely happy with the completed project and that makes it all worthwhile.

This homeowner came to Vaughan Pools to create a showstopping backyard pool. The 52-foot pool allows for multiple entertainment areas. With both a lounging deck and swim-up bar stools and table, guests can be served food and drinks without ever missing a minute of the big game or getting out of the swimming pool. All the electrical features—the jets, lighting and fog machine— can be controlled from the homeowner’s phone! Now, this homeowner has the ultimate resort-like pool retreat right in their backyard! Day or evening, they and their guests can kick back and relax in the pool with cocktails in hand.

BACKYARD RESORT While this home's previous owners rarely spent any time outdoors, this family loved how much space they had to create the pool area they really wanted. It was important for him to give her the pool area he knew she wanted. With the help of Nathan Voss, their new pool is surrounded by a generous amount of concrete in order to hold several seating options for everyone. In order to have a non-slip surface surrounding the pool, he chose a light broom finished concrete and had it scored on the diagonal. This created a subtle design element that didn’t add to the budget. The pool is all one level making it easy for all ages to enjoy.

AN OASIS FILLED WITH ALL THE CONVENIENCES Jeff and Carolyn Imhoff turned to Nick Haslag to create a backyard paradise they would enjoy for years to come. With their new outdoor kitchen, long gone are the days of running in and out of the house while entertaining because everything a cook could need is right at their fingertips. On game days, everyone pulls up a bar stool, making the kitchen area a full entertainment hub. At night, nothing is more relaxing than enjoying a well-lit space at night while the water is glistening in the moonlight and a fire is dancing in the new woodburning fireplace. The Imhoffs now have all the conveniences that they could ever want outside. They have created an outdoor oasis that they can share with their family and friends, making their home complete.
