Celebrating Women-I AM WHO I AM BECAUSE OF YOU.

About this special issue:

We are Celebrating Women. Empowering them to BECOME who they were created to be.

March is women’s history month and also our editor-in-chief’s birthday month. She believes in recognizing people and giving them their flowers while they are alive to enjoy it themselves.

This special Issue of Imagine Me magazine is dedicated to all women. We recognize and celebrate outstanding women who have been active in their communities and have made a difference in the world. These are women who are strong and brave leaders, inventors, humanitarians, doctors, homemakers, entrepreneurs, ministry leaders, creators, single moms, survivors, influencers, trailblazers, prophets, teachers and more.

Women who are fulfilling their call and purpose, creating and transforming the world around them. Each woman, young or old has impacted my life somehow.

It gives me great pleasure to honor and recognize these amazing women, and other women all over the world. Happy Women’s day!

I pray that God will continue to bless and keep each of you in his care.

You are that woman in my life. I couldn’t imagine myself (BECOMING) without you, My Tribe-My SistersMy Support-My Inspiration. It’s your season to rise!

I AM WHO I AM BECAUSE OF YOU. (ALL)

Davia Williams Stevenson

Arthlene and I met 17 years ago at a high school football game. Our sons were friends and teammates and over the season, our conversations quickly led to the realization that we would become close friends. One shared Thanksgiving meal and church worship choir later and the bond became solid.

I’ve seen my friend go through countless hardships, setbacks and disappointments, but her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ is a beauty to behold! My friend stands on faith, is sustained by faith, and steps out on faith. It has been my honor to watch my talented sister grow in business acumen and influence - all while providing heartfelt and practical service to the community. She is a rare jewel and I’m grateful to be amongst her tribe.

I’m so honored to have met my beautiful friend Davia 17 years ago. We connected and have been great friends since the day we met. She is more than a friend, She is like a sister to me; actually, she is closer to me than any of my sisters. She has been and continues to be someone to who I could tell all my secrets, she is very loyal, trustworthy, dependable, and sincere. A great active listener. I’ve cried in her ear so many times and she’s never made me feel uncomfortable. I miss being in Ohio, because I know we would be hanging out as we used to. She has always made me feel like royalty, encouraged and empowered me to keep pushing no matter what. One other thing that I love about my dear friend is that every time I would call, whether it’s with an issue or not, she would always offers prayers. I’m so honored to have her grace the cover of our magazine.

From the day we met, I knew she would forever be my sister in Christ. Her creative talent, passion for uplifting others, and unstoppable spirit are an inspiration. Shine always, sister.

I am blessed woman to have so many powerful women in my life. Stephanie Matthews is at the top of this list. I met her in 2009 for the first time at a fashion show and what she did for me was beyond special. She was the first to get my designs in a magazine. She was the first to bless me with a professional photo shoot of not only my designs but for me personally. Stephanie has been there for me. So many times. As someone in the industry, she knows how challenging it could be and every time I would feel like giving up should be right there to encourage me, sis, you were doing a great job keep going. She made me feel like I could do anything. She has blessed me, and so many many many many ways, and I’m just grateful to have her in my life. And she also comes with a bonus; her mom mama Carol is a precious blessing to me.

the voice of SHA BATTLE

I am a native Georgian and grew up in the Metro Atlanta Area. My professional job is an Information Technology Consultant specializing in JDEdwards. I’ve worked for companies such as GE Computer Service, Raytheon Corporation (Electronics Technician), and have contracted with companies

such as CH2M Hill, Coca Cola USA, Exxon, CTG, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Corning, and several more over a span of 26 years.

I wanted something legendary for Minority Women in the arts. I had an interest in creating something historic that would uplift Minority Women. That’s when I created Black Women In Jazz Awards. The Arts portion came about six months later. This year, 2022 will be the 8th award show for Black Women In Jazz & The Arts Awards. I am the founder and creator of March is International Black Women In Jazz & The Arts Month.

In April 2016, after creating Black Women In Jazz & The Arts Awards, I felt that Black History Month was not enough to celebrate the contributions

21
From

that Women of Color have made to world history. Many contributions have never been acknowledged. I knew that March was Women’s History Month and I am so happy about that but felt like Black Women needed our own month to celebrate the contributions that we have made and continue to make. So, I decided that we would create April as Black Women’s History Month where we would focus on the contributions from domestic engineering to medicine to politics to inventions to entrepreneurship and all in between, would be celebrated. I had no idea that Minority Women had contributed so much to this world because most of it was not taught in schools in the past.

MISSION

Black Women’s History Month is to embrace achievements, build understanding and awareness, and to celebrate the rich history

of the past, present and future generations of Minority Women who are the Descendants of Africa to include: African American, AfroAustrailian, Afro-Mexican, Afro-Latino, AfroArgentine, Afro-Brazilian, Afro- European, Afro Bolivian, Afro-Colombian, AfroGuyanese, Afro-Peruvian, Afro-Bahamian, Afro-Barbadian, Afro- Caribbean, AfroCuban, Afro-Dominican, Afro-Puerto Rican, Afro-Saint Lucian, Afro-Trinidadian and Tobagonian, Afro-Vincentian, Afro-Asian, Italians of African descent, Afro-Greeks, AfroFrench, Afro-Germans, Black British. Black Women’s History Month is about unifying the community by promoting visibility, education, empowerment, contribution and achievement which positively impacts communities across the globe. April is International Black Women’s History Month.

My dearest, beautiful sister, Laura, I think God for you and your faith in me. She’s already told you how we met, but she didn’t tell you how she got in a plane, flew herself down here, and came to Atlanta Georgia. Spent a few days just doing a photo shoot for me and many of my designs. She has also gone out of her way to get me exposure by sharing my work as much as she could. I am blessed to call her a friend and sister.

Imet Arthy in New York City at Couture Fashion Week when she brought her beautiful Runway collection to the show. The media riser and the audience were collectively wowed by her beautiful peacock feather gown, and I knew immediately that I needed to interview her for my MARK541 radio show featuring creative entrepreneurs.

During the show prep, and after recording, Arthy and I discovered that we had a common goal. We intend to use our work, and our Godgiven talents to bring the glory of God and the realm of heaven into this earth.

Arthy asked me to photograph a few of her shows and the opening of her boutique in ATLANTA and we very much enjoyed our creative time together.

She is a friend, mentor, mother, wife and a brilliant creative entrepreneur, and most assuredly - a beautiful example of Jesus Christ in her daily life!

Happy Birthday, beautiful!

What would I have done without her? She has been there from the beginning, pushing and encouraging me. She worked fervently and willingly. Building websites, creating advertising and marketing products, my personal assistant, my travel companion and so much more. She never complained even if she was tired and frustrated. She had to listen to all my crazy ideas, walk through and experience many of my struggles, but she also saw and experienced the success and victories. I saw her start her business from scratch right after the pandemic, and today she’s a successful businesswoman.

I am an artist and spiritualist. My work is about possibility, potential, beauty, and realization. I believe life is an art, so my life is about possibility, potential, beauty and realization. With this life I am creating the most beautiful piece I can while opening portals others do the same if they would like. I want creatives, non-linear, multidimensional geniuses to know they can thrive in this world. You can be yourself and be free and have power over your reality and I am here to share that message.

I have done transformational work with hundreds of souls: full-time creatives, powerful mystics, high-performing business owners and their teams, successful artists and more. I am excited to help visionaries bring their creations into the world & thrive without sacrificing themselves.

When Arthelene and I met in 2005 it was a God-ordained sister-love relationship that ended up in a trustworthy friendship and we both accepted the friendship. Arthelene has an inviting, loving, caring, and compassionate spirit that touched my heart. She

is one of my friends who also encouraged me to be everything that God wants me to be and to encourage me to fulfill my purpose. She believed in the power of faith and the power of agreement. In our friendship, She is one that esteems me highly than herself, as I esteem her more highly than myself. She is a joy to be around and has the spirit of laughter that can be contagious. I am able to share with her my feelings and my thoughts with no judgmental statement. She always responds with prayer. I love all these things about her and one of the attributes that I love the most is that she does love at all times. Not only is she my sister in Christ but she is truly my friend.

My customer: Tt’s Nursing Covers (Ttsnursingcovers.com)

Special thanks to Tee for trusting me with one of the most important days of her life. Designing and creating her wedding gown was a beautiful experience. I’m traveling to New York, and Miami searching for the fabric you wanted, the many fittings, you were so patient. I enjoyed the experience working with Tee.

atherine Laudat, my mom. And to my beautiful dedicated mother, the queen of the family, A true proverb 31 women, my greatest support, cheerleader, life coach, my example, teacher and so much more, I’m going to make the best of the rest of the time we have together meaningful. Today I celebrate and recognized a proverb 31 woman. My mother Catherine Laudat! I thank God for her every day, she raised me well, thank you, Jesus. I didn’t always like her methods but thank God I obeyed and listened to her, the funny thing is; I still listen to her and follow her advice because She has never led me wrong. She has a lot of faith in God and she lives by example. (Today I called to wish her a happy birthday and her only concern was how the kids and I were doing) Thank you, God, for the opportunity to celebrate her 89 years of life on 01/12/23. Continue to bless my Mom and keep her in your care. As one of my sisters wrote “Today I thank God for my upbringing, it was not perfect but I give God thanks for everything I’ve been through in life.

The struggles, heartaches, pains, and disappointments have not made me less of a person but have given me the will to be strong, motivated, and dependent on God, and the desire to love and care for others. The path I’ve tread encourages me to be true to God and to keep on trusting in his divine grace and mercy.” thank you mom, I will continue to come on Sundays so we can have communion and our private worship services. I know we have distractions and pushback, but no one can stop me from praying for you. God will keep you as long as he needs you here. I believe you will walk again and speak clearly the words you so desperately want to release. May god do this for you. ALL

Elder Luanda Daniels Taylor, a native of Columbus, Ohio was called into ministry at age 33. In her eyes, nothing in her life indicated that this would be her destiny. From erroneous religious beliefs, life in the streets, to a woman who never knew her worth, Luanda thought she had out-sinned God’s grace. After experiencing a complete turnaround, God used the passage in Isaiah 61:1-3 to solidify her call to the ministry. Her vast life experiences has awarded her the ability to reach people of all ages and various walks of life. Luanda’s desire is to provoke change in the lives of everyone she ministers to through the gospel message, and by telling her story about how God brought her From Gutter to Glory.

In 2008, Elder Taylor received a Bachelor of Arts in Black Church Studies from The Believer’s Center for Theology (McCreary Center), and a Master of Divinity (General Theology) in 2014 from Ashland Theological Seminary, where she is currently completing her Doctorate. She received her ministerial training and licensing at New Covenant Believer’s Church in Columbus, Ohio, under the tutelage of Bishop Howard Tillman, and currently serves as head of their Ministerial Alliance and Development Program.

Elder Taylor is an avid singer and is passionate about all forms of The Arts. She is married to her best friend and greatest supporter, Mr. Z.F. Taylor, and is COO of their Creative Consulting Company, Taylorbranding Co. Luanda also loves Fashion and Glamour, and is owner of L.A.S. Glamour Image Consulting. Luanda’s desire is to use every gift that she was given to enhance the Kingdom. Luanda believes that God has chosen her for “such a time as this” to tear down the kingdom of darkness, bring edification to the Kingdom of God, and preach the Gospel to the masses. The sum of her testimony is this; “What the devil meant for evil, God turned it around to use for His good!”

The Apostle of Purpose”

As a Spiritual Life coach, I specialize in working with individuals that are interested in deepening their connection to their inner Self and to God while pursuing creative ways in which to enrich their lives with spiritual processes. I work with individuals to help connect the dots; recognize the barriers or roadblocks by allowing them to see the bigger picture from a biblical perspective. We learn to manage our realities better by learning better skills to shift or adapt to changes and resistance. We can change the way we see things and reframe our perception to one of empowerment and Self-Mastery. https://www.treasuresinternational.org/home-maggie

kerryann ifill

My wonderful Friend, a trailblazer and inspiration to myself and so many others.

Kerryann F. Ifill is a Barbadian politician. She served as President of the Senate of Barbados from 2012 to 2018

She lost her sight due to cataracts at the age of four. She initially had to leave school, before attending a school for the blind from the age of six.

In 1999 Ifill became the first blind person to graduate from the University of the West Indies, gaining a degree in Sociology and Psychology from Cave Hill Campus in her native Barbados. She went on to obtain an MBA at Durham Business School, in England. She had initially considered studying law, with an aim to become a lawyer, but believed she would be unable to achieve that as a blind person, a belief she subsequently regretted.

In 2008 Barbadian Prime Minister David Thompson appointed her to the Senate, and subsequently to the position of deputy President of the Senate.

On 14 March 2012, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart announced that, the following week, he would appoint Ifill President of the Senate. She became the first woman to hold that position, and the first person with a disability, as well as the youngest ever holder of the position, at the age of 38.
