Mr. Perez, The Dentist Mouse Once upon a time Mr. Perez, who was a little mouse in town, lived with his family in a hole in the wall of a building. The family lived next to a bakery; at night he and his father would take flour and everything they could find to eat. One day he heard a commotion and went upstairs. He was a curious mouse and climbed through the pipes to reach the first floor. It looked like someone was going to install a new business there. Next day Perez went back up to see what it was all about, and found something he liked very much. They had put a dental clinic. Thereafter every day he rose to look at everything that Dr. Jose had. He study, observed and learned, and wrote all he could in a small cardboard book. After practicing with his family, her mother’s teeth were shining clean and his sisters’’ toothache cured with a little medicine. He was becoming famous. Mice came from everywhere to b e treated. Field mice with bags full of food , city mice with hats and canes, small, large, fat, skinny ... All wanted him to fix their mouths. But then elderly mice had a bigger problem. They had no teeth and wanted to eat all they had eaten 14 www.imaginekidsmagazine.com

when young. Mr. Perez thought how he could help these mice that trusted him. As usual, he went to the dental clinic to look for ideas. There he saw Dr. Jose putting new teeth to an old man. Those teeth were not from people; they came from a large factory. But those teeth were huge and did not served him at all. Then, when he was about to go home without finding the solution, a child appeared at the clinic with his mother. The doctor had to remove a baby tooth for another tooth will quickly go out strong and big. The doctor took it off and gave it to him. The mouse had found the solution: “I’ll go to the house of the child and I’ll buy the tooth”, he thought. He followed him around the city and when he finally came home, he found a large cat and could not enter. Mr. Perez waited until everyone was asleep and then entered the child’s room. The child had put it under his pillow. The poor Mr. Perez had a hard time finding the tooth, but finally found him and left the boy a nice gift. The

next morning the boy saw the gift and was thrilled and told all his friends from school. And from that day, all the children leave their baby teeth under their pillow. Mr. Perez collects them and leaves them a nice gift in return. The End.
