Mark Gabbertas

Mark Gabbertas is a furniture designer with a different perspective. After ten years in advertising, he trained and worked as cabinet maker, before establishing the Gabbertas studio in 2001. The intent is to create character through simplicity via the rigorous pursuit of designs that have both an elegance and a lasting aesthetic… it is all too easy to shock, but much more difficult to please.

“Ours is not an obsession with form as an end in itself, but with the emotion it incites. Our work is rooted in the conviction that furniture has the ability to influence how people behave, perform, and interact, but most important, how they feel.”

Mark’s approach has earned his designs for Allermuir numerous including a Red Dot and Design Guild Mark for the design of Haven and more recently a Design Guild Mark and a Silver Best of NeoCon Award for the design of Mozaik.

Haven Bench

Haven Bench helps support collaborative working environments. The benches are available in three lengths and can be used individually or linked. Backrests can be specified to offer additional comfort or act as a space divider.

Orai uses a restrained, minimal aesthetic to create its architectural profile. Simple, elegant and timeless, the design works in a variety of interior spaces. The considered tailoring and gentle profiling of the upholstery allow the sofa to maintain its comfort and form even in high use areas.

The design by Mark Gabbertas achieves a deliberate balance between the classic and contemporary and is available as single-seat armchair, 2-seat, 3-seat sofa as well as a corner sofa. Orai is the cousin to the Oran range of upholstery and uses the same aluminum frame and cast aluminum legs to carry the slightly more compact and slimline, but equally welcoming upholstery volumes.

Characterized by the combination of a soft appearance and feel, with a precise and defined upholstery detail, Oran is a modular sofa system designed to work in both workplace and hospitality environments.

The rounded and voluminous interior of the sofa is restrained by a defined seam, that leads the eye with ease around the sofa profile. Carried by a minimal powder coated aluminum frame and cast aluminum corner leg, the system allows the creation of an infinite number of configurations from a limited number of individual seat units.

Plum

Plum is a universal lounge chair with an exceptionally comfortable upright sit. The characterful collection is based on a series of ultra-soft pillow like structures that allow the internal structure of the chair to be hidden.

Mozaik

The Mozaik seating family is made up of three principal shapes. A small soft square stool and soft rectangular bench available in two heights and a large low soft square stool.

Two heights of the upholstered unit allow for different seating styles that in turn facilitate different patterns of behavior, function and interaction.

Pearson Lloyd is a product, furniture and innovation design studio led by founders Luke Pearson and Tom Lloyd, and run from a studio in Shoreditch, East London.

For the last twenty years, the agency has designed products, systems and environments for the home, workplace, transport and healthcare sectors.

In 2008, Luke and Tom were awarded the distinction of Royal Designers for Industry by The Royal Society of Arts in 2012 were named in the top 50 designers ‘Shaping the Future’ by Fast-Co Magazine in New York.

The agency’s work is driven by a need to understand and interpret a world that is experiencing rapid and often unexpected change. It’s in depth research into these changes - in both the material and digital worldenables Pearson Lloyd to create design solutions that are appropriate and relevant for manufacturers, brands and users. The studio is highly collaborative in its approach. It embraces the restrictions imposed by product type, function, material and process and delivers products that are beautiful, efficient and useful.

Open is an elegant and relatively compact contemporary range of soft seating, comprising of a lounge chair with or without a headrest, footstool and a large two seat sofa.

The molded seat shells and cushions with bull nosed edge profile and tailored upholstery, provide great comfort, precise shape and visual slenderness.

Lola

Lola is a seductive, curving and shapely, yet strong and dependable collection. This soft seating range has been designed as a contemporary, visually lighter alternative to the linear forms typically used in corporate environments.

Providing excellent comfort, Lola is perfect for stunning reception areas or for creating relaxing spaces in corporate lounges or breakout areas.

Wolfgang C.R. Mezger opened his own design studio in 1983 in Eislingen near Stuttgart, Germany. The qualified typographer, graduate industrial designer, and specialist for executive offices is in demand all over the world. He also has considerable experience in lecturing in London, Berlin, and Schwäbisch Gmünd.

Harmonious concepts and intelligent details are the hallmark of Mezger’s aesthetic philosophy. He finds the answers to complex questions with simple solutions relevant to the user.

Working for a host of international clients, Mezger has received more than 50 Design Awards such as Best of NeoCon, Good Design and Red Dot.

Venus is a versatile, compact tub chair providing excellent comfort for informal and formal meeting, conference and dining applications.

Practical features have been worked into the design with flowing lines and a refreshing profile that enhances the visual elegance of this classic styled tub chair.

Simon Pengelly

British Designer Simon Pengelly founded London based Pengelly Design in 1993 after working for the Conran Design Group and the in-house design team of Habitat.

Pengelly Design Ltd now collaborates globally with the most progressive design-led companies working within the realm of transport and product design, lighting and interior design in addition to furniture design.

Pengelly began making furniture in his father’s furniture workshop when he was only eight years old and won a prize for cabinet making at the age of fifteen. This early experience earned him the skill of pragmatism which is behind his intelligent solutions. His affinity with new materials and production processes results in products which are both light weight and sustainable, yet at the same time offer timeless appeal.

With inviting proportions, Obris is the perfect balance of comfort and form. It’s clean lines, slim arm detailing and deep seat allows it to blend subtly wherever you rest; office or home.

Obris’s welcoming design is available as a chair plus a two and three seater sofa, creating a series of flexible and contemporary furniture suitable for any environment.

Jonas Wagell

Jonas Wagell is a Swedish architect and designer born in 1973. The studio JWDA was founded in 2008 and is today located in a converted car repair shop in central Stockholm, but collaborations span from Scandinavia to China, Italy and North America.

Wagell’s architecture work is perhaps most known for the prefab house concept Mini House (2007-2012), early recognized by Wallpaper* Magazine which named him one of the “world’s 50 hottest young architects” shortly after graduation in 2008. Today the work is primarily focused on product and furniture design, but on occasion the studio also consults with art and design direction.
