Episcopal Peace Fellowship

Founded in 1939, the Episcopal Peace Fellowship (EPF) serves the Episcopal Church at both national and parish levels. Its stated mission is “to pray, study and take action for justice and peace in our communities, our church and the world.”

EPF strives to carry out this mission through the work of a National Executive Council, Peace Partner Parishes and Local Chapters. Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration is a Peace Partner Parish, and since 2015 has served as the location for the work of the North Dallas Chapter of EPF.
Our major focus at the Fig consists of Peace Post, in which we gather monthly to write our elected officials regarding issues of public justice on which we’ve reflected in the light of our faith.
Eucharistic Ministries

As it has for all of our ministries, ceasing in person worship in the church has had a great impact on participation. have continued to provide the assistance needed to create a smooth and beautiful worship experience.
From about 20 members helping at the altar weekly, through acolytes, chalice bearers, emcees, thurifers and lectors- it just stopped. With the development of online services and then outdoor worship weekly, there have been a hardy band who As we are a hands on ministry, adaptation has been to limit the number of lectors, and only have an MC for the Eucharist . Our ministry volunteers look forward to the return of normal in person services.
Eucharistic Visitors

Prior to the outbreak of Covid-19, Eucharistic Visitors brought communion and Forward Day by Day to approximately 24 people every month in January and February. In February EVs took ashes to shut-ins for the very first time. The EVs reported that the people whom they visited were deeply grateful, and additionally, the EVs found the experience to be an unexpected joy. Visiting stopped as soon as Covid-19 arrived in Dallas. Because communication is important to both those serving and those being served, Eucharistic Visitors have assisted
