Senior Orchestra Day and Time: Monday 3.30pm – 4.45pm Contact: Mrs J Hitchcock jhitchcock@tigs.nsw.edu.au The Orchestra is comprised of woodwind, brass, percussion and string players of all ages and abilities across the senior school. In the first semester this ensemble forms the Production Orchestra and in second semester builds repertoire with a view to School performances such as Carols, Presentation Day and Year 12 Graduation. The Orchestra has also toured internationally and participates in skills development days with professional musicians.
Senior Strings Day and Time: Monday 8.00am – 8.40am Contact: Mrs R Pinazza rpinazza@tigs.nsw.edu.au Senior Strings is an Ensemble for students in Years 7 - 12 open to any student who has private lessons in Violin, Viola, Cello or Double Bass. This is a large ensemble catering for students of different abilities. Our repertoire is diverse, covering a wide range of genres from Baroque and Classical to Tangos and arrangements of Popular and Film pieces. With lots of performance opportunities we encourage any string players to join the Senior Strings!
Wind Ensemble Day and Time: Thursday 8.00am – 8.40am Contact: Mrs C Hollander chollander@tigs.nsw.edu.au Wind Ensemble is a band for woodwind, brass and rhythm players from Years 7 - 11. It is a supportive learning environment for both experienced and developing players where selected repertoire is fun and varied. This ensemble performs throughout the year at school and public events.
SPORT TERM I and IV The TIGS Co-curricular Sport program offers a great range of activities for student participation and enjoyment. A Summer Sport program is offered in Terms I and IV and a Winter program is offered in Terms II and III. The Summer options are listed below however the Winter program options are at present being developed. Some of the activities we are envisaging to offer in Winter include Rowing, Spin classes, Rockclimbing, Basketball, Boot Camp training, Netball and Rugby just to name a few. The school utilizes numerous local facilities to support this program and students are transported to and from the venues with school buses. The school also offers training in a variety of sports during the year in preparation for Gala Day competitions and representative opportunities.
