What is CTE? Career and Technical Education (CTE) is an essential component of the total educational system in the United States. It provides students and adults with the technical skills, knowledge and training necessary to succeed in specific occupations and careers. It also prepares students for postsecondary education and for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies and professional skills that are essential no matter what career field they choose. Career & Technical Education takes academic content and makes it accessible to students by providing it in a relevant, hands-on context. High School Career and Technical Education is an organized system of programs which are directly related to preparation for post-secondary education and training and for entry into careers. Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee volunteers help plan the training for our future.
