In this session, you will reflect on your classroom and what small changes you can make to promote independence, problem-solving, and emotional self-regulation. Find out how to utilize circle time and class meetings using children’s literature to teach various social skills, behaviors, and routines. Research shows that both daily practice and explicit teaching of specific social skills are vital to mastering appropriate social skills and behavior. We will break down the learning stages (skill acquisition, fluency, maintenance and generalization) and then walk-through planning activities to teach specific social skills.
