General description

The audit is a semi announced audit, conducted on 13-14.10.2022 in 1,5 audit days onsite by Lead Auditor: Claudia Leone – APSCA No: RA21703324 (Audit Firm: Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Service Audit Company - APSCA Number: 11600002) Ilary Group manufactures and commercializes hosiery and seamless underwear and outwear for woman and man The Company headquarter is located in Visano (BS), Italy, in the so called “International Hosiery and Seamless District” The company has 100 employees, that is to say 36 in HO, 20 in secondary site and 44 in Casaloldo site. It was founded in 1997 and has 3 sites as follows: Tights (collant) production factory and HO, located at Via dell'Industria, 6 in Visano (BS) with production, assembly, warehouse, and management office; a secondary site at Via Don G M Zanetti, 12/14 in Visano (at 2-minute walking distance from HO), where are located tights production, assembly, warehouse, and administrative office; a third production site, at Via Avis, 8 - 46040 Casaloldo, where underwear production states, with warehouse and administrative offices In the present audit were sampled all sites, that are owned by the company and are not shared with other entities. The maintenance of buildings is well done, no cracks or damages observed, all buildings visited are in good condition with a good level of hygiene. The company doesn’t use homework Workers are paid monthly The working time is electronically registered based on the individual badges There is a complex shift pattern as follows: Offices are working from 8 AM to 12 PM with 1,5 hour lunch break and resuming activity at 1,30 PM to 5,30 PM. In production, instead, there are workers in 1 shift for some production activity, 2 shifts and 3 shifts The general working program is in 3 shifts is: 1st shift is working from 4 AM to 12 PM; 2nd shift from 12 PM to 8 PM and the 3rd shift from 8 PM to 4 AM. There is one break of 30 minutes by rotation during this shift pattern as the equipment is not stopped during the working program. The break is included in the working program. The night shift is only for production areas, working a maximum of 8 workers per shift. The night shift was not audited as management was not available for night shift visits and no access was permitted without management presence onsite. The company informed this aspect since the acceptance of the audit. During the opening meeting, it was explained the audit procedure and the needing to perform a health and safety, and environmental site tour during the night but the management reinforce the statement from the moment of acceptance of the audit. The worker's interview covered night-shift conditions, no issues were communicated, there are no differences in working conditions from day shifts to night shifts The workers describe the active area during the night and confirm that all health and safety and environmental procedures are in place. All emergency exits from the production area are opened, but some fire-extinguishers were found partially obstructed by various material. The special measure is implemented by the company to control worker safety against #COVID 19: The risk assessment is covering biological risk and a plan for contagious illness (#COVID 19) is in place. At the main entrance, there is a dispenser for disinfectants based on alcohol. The people are trained to practice efficient hygiene against #COVID 19, they are provided with face masks and who want can use them.

The audit report highlighted no specific deficiencies in the general area of knowledge and dissemination of the code of conduct; also H&S aspects are continuosly monitored. Furthermore, producer's collaborative behaviour and positive feedback from workers by interviews give a very positive immage of the work environment. No workers no records issue any problematic situation and the company management has demonstrate a proactive behaviour to solve any problems or needs of personnel. No weaknesses than could cause inefficiency compared to the management of social responsibility in the company In general, the company respects the BSCI Code of Conduct and had never had ethical problems with internal or external stakeholders.
