For your session with ila. creative
Choosing the right outfits can make a big difference in how your photos turn out. The goal is to complement the setting, highlight your personalities, and make sure the focus stays on you. In this guide you will find some tips tailored to different types of sessions.

The beach is open, airy, and full of movement - your outfits should reflect that.
What to wear:
Flowing dresses, skirts, or linen shirts that move in the breeze; Natural, beachy tones: whites, creams, beige, soft blues, or pastels; Barefoot is perfect - or neutral sandals if needed.
What to avoid:
Large logos and busy prints; Bright neons, oranges and reds or harsh blacks that feel out of place in the natural tones of the beach.

Outdoor Green & Forest
Nature backdrops are rich and textured, so earthy tones work best.
What to wear:
Whites, browns, beiges, creams, muted greens, rust, mustard, or soft neutrals; Layers (jackets, cardigans, scarves) to add depth; Textured fabrics like linen, knits, or cotton.
What to avoid:
Bright reds or oranges that clash with green backgrounds;

In-Home Sessions
Indoor light is often softer and more limited, so lighter colours help reflect it beautifully.
What to wear:
Light, soft tones like whites, creams, pastels, or muted earthy shades;
Comfortable, cozy clothing - think knits, linen, or cotton;
Bare feet often work best indoors for a relaxed vibe.
Avoid:
Very dark clothing (blacks/navy) as it can make images feel heavy;
Distracting patterns or neon colours that clash with

Maternity Sessions
Best time: 28–36 weeks (when your bump is beautifully round but you’re still comfortable).
What to wear:
Dresses that gently hug or flow over the bump. Flowy dresses or crop top to show off your bump, paired with a buttoned shirt or cardi; Solid colours or subtle textures to keep the focus on your bump; Partners in neutral or muted tones to complement you.
Avoid:
Large logos, busy prints, or clothing that cuts across your bump. Very baggy styles that hide your shape.

Colour Palette Examples

Coordinate, don’t match - choose a palette of 2–3 colours that complement each other;
Comfort first - if you feel awkward in your clothes, it will show in the photos;
Minimal accessories - keep jewellery simple and shoes neutral;
Avoid large logos, bold patterns, or overly trendy pieces that may date your photos.

✨ Remember: these are guidelines, not rules. The most important thing is that you feel like yourself and comfortable in what you’re wearing
