Infant Jesus Day
We are looking forward to families and the community joining us on Friday 25 August 2023 from 12.00pm to celebrate Infant Jesus Day.
An outline of the day is as follows –
• At 12.00pm families and the community are invited to join us at Infant Jesus Church for a EucharisGc CelebraGon.
• Following the Mass at Infant Jesus Church, the children and parents will walk to school for a Sausage Sizzle lunch. All Pre-Primary to Year Six children will stay on the Oval where the Sausage Sizzles will be distributed by teachers.

• Parents and visitors only need to collect a Sausage Sizzle from the tables in the Piazza and return to the Oval.
• The school has organised a Sausage Sizzle for all the children. To order a Sausage Sizzle for other family members or friends please use this link hUps://forms.office.com/r/gJ7PMX97N2

• Following the Sausage Sizzle lunch an announcement will inform all that the Stalls are open.
• Children and families are invited to a range of stalls organised and run by staff and students.
• At the conclusion of the stalls children return to class
Your generous support of all the stalls will assist Lifelink, in their work in our Archdiocese, and Catholic Mission in their work in many countries around the world.
On Infant Jesus Day
• All Pre-Primary to Year 6 children may wear free dress.
• All children are encouraged to bring some money to spend at the stalls aper the Sausage Sizzle lunch.
Father’s Day
On Thursday 31 August 2023 we will be celebraGng our Dads, Grand-dads and father figures, with Donuts with Dads before school at 7.30am followed by a Whole School Mass at Infant Jesus Church commencing at 9.00am.

Library Bookmarks NewsleXer
We will be celebraGng Children’s Book Week at a whole school assembly on Wednesday 23rd August, where prize winners will be announced for the Book in a Jar and Read, Grow, Inspire Library compeGGons.
For the Wednesday Assembly as part of the celebraGon we ask that all student dress in a book character costume. This is an exciGng and fun way to sGmulate children’s love of reading and the joy it brings.

Book Fair
Each day of Book Week the ScholasGc Book Fair will be held at the library before and aper school (8:15am – 8:30am) and (3:00pm-3:30pm) This is a special Gme for students to choose and purchase their own books with part proceeds going to the library and teachers resource centre. All purchases from the Book Fair are made by parents only.


Peter Cheong and James Foley Excursions
This year to mark the celebraGon of Book Week various year groups will be aUending an excursion to the Morley Library where they will hear from authors Peter Cheong and James Foley, as they share with the children their passion of wriGng and illustraGng. This will be an exciGng and moGvaGng excursion which will encourage students in their wriGng skills and love of books.

This year we are working in partnership to assist children in learning phonics/sounds during 2023.
