3D Shapes Everywhere!

Year One began the term by focusing on 3D shapes in MathemaGcs. We explored the properGes of common 3D shapes and counted how many faces, edges and corners each has. Each day we worked on different acGvity rotaGons to help us to understand these properGes beXer.

There was a creaGon staGon where we used play dough to sculpt each 3D shape, a quiz about the es of shapes and we even made our very own 3D shape using the shapes net. It was very tricky, but we tried our very best!

Our favourite task was a 3D quesGon hunt around the classroom, where there were 24 quesGons hidden and we needed to figure out the answers using what our teachers had taught us. We found out the answers on Friday and it was awesome! Did you know that ‘verGces’ and ‘corners’ mean the same thing? Stay tuned for some more fun learning!
