Role of an Architect VS Authorship and Authenticity
The architect is merely the curator, He sanctifies and celebrates a phenomenon which predates his involvement. He has complete authorship for it is his intervention that recognizes and makes possible the appreciation of the subject, yet the subject is itself authentic with or without an architect. It is this older authenticity, which originates from the events and social circumstances of the past, that gives weight to the subject.

CAMP HOUSE
REGENERATIVE ARCHITECTURE
ACADEMIC-SEMESTER 3
TYPE-VACATION HOUSE
SITE-VAGAMON, KERALA INDIVIDUAL

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Vagamon is a natural paradise in Kerala where abundant rainfall nurtures dense forests. This innovative housing co-op applies “regenerative architecture” to reconceptualize the relationship between human habitation and this nature. This architectural style is to “to live” and “to become clear,” expressing its core concept of living in a way that positively impacts the landscape.
Regenerative architecture is a term that describes the process of creating sustainable buildings that actively contribute to the well-being of their surroundings. It is a design philosophy that aims to create buildings that go beyond mere environmental sustainability by integrating a range of systems that enable them to actively contribute to the regeneration of the natural environment. In this essay, we will explore the principles of regenerative architecture and the benefits it offers.

Rather than being a discrete site, the design takes a holistic view of the entire mountain valley, making a positive contribution to natural processes. Made for use by owner, it is a place for tending to nature while reflecting on values. It applies “regenerative architecture,” a new approach developed that combine traditional styles with contemporary technology.
Initial base : the site is contoured with a gradual slope towards the mountain valley. The foundation is set at an optimum location to soak in the views.
Base modification: the foundation has been built to engulf the existing Vegetation and has been tailored to accommodate it in midst of spaces
Massing : 2 blocks has been placed on either side of the Vegetation.
Program distribution : the block at the front has been split into living and bedroom space.
Void space : 2 void forms have been placed adjacent to the bedroom and adjoining the courtyard space.
With a refined orientation of the bed space, living space and dining space, there is an optimum passage for clear ventilation through all targetted spaces. With the openings facing the sun path, each rooms recieves ample amount of sunlight throught all points if the day

UNDERGROUND DESIGN
The design also extends underground. Burned wood is placed under the foundations of each building, and the carbonized surface promotes the growth of mycelium (fungal threads) that join them in the forest’s soil network.
The mycelium fosters tree root growth under buildings, strengthening the soil. Developing a new methodology called “regenerative architecture,” whereby the buildings enrich nature.
In addition to exploring modern applications of traditional Style, its features include:
+ 100% off-grid energy from solar power, storage batteries, and local firewood
+ Comfortable living spaces that leverage architectural expertise to achieve effective airtightness and insulation unlike camp-style accommodation
The design changes our relationship with nature. It enables residents to discover new possibilities for interacting with nature and adapt the way they think and act, building relationships with nature that transcend generations. Its unique approach has the potential to accelerate environmental initiatives if more widely applied.

An open living space enriched with lush green valley views, depending on mutual built and contextual shading, so as to nurture the space to make a phsycological influence for the user.
To enjoy your morning routine with the morning sun radiating it’s first rays into the ambient washroom, so that the day get’s a fresher start.
The bedroom has been designed in such a way that it has a balcony oriented in the lakeside view. The bedroom also has an extensive view beyond the lake to woods. The design altogether awards the user with a serene and tranquil experience.
The external Dock follows a straight connection to the rope bed which has been integrated as an addition to the design to experience the real life in the woods. This element has been adapted from the old tree house concept.

ISOMETRIC DIAGRAM
The main entrance is connected straight from the ground level, acting as a platform linking the nature and the house.
Alignment of the sloping roofs in the direction of the sun path provides an oppurtunity to be utilised - solar energy gain through solar panels. Being able to attain maximum sunlight at all points enable a sustainable approach towards power consumption.
Application of varied sill height to optimize harsh rays and provide efficient stacking effect and occassional times to ensure the spatial ambience.
TO enrich the built space with context of open lush green valleys, the opportunity was taken to utilise the north facing facade equipped with larger windows to utilise the views at the same time optimised thermal gains throughout the day.

H20ME, the undersea residence is a two-level structure consisting of space above the sea level and an undersea suite designed for sleeping under the ocean’s surface.
The undersea suite features a king-size bedroom, living area, bathroom, The undersea bedroom floor level sits five meters below sea level, providing uninterrupted views of the surrounding marine environment, which boasts panoramic views of the wonders of the Indian Ocean’s intricate marine life.
Concrete: A special variety of concrete used underwater is able to set quickly despite water currents and fares well in salt water.
Steel: Steel, typically enclosed by concrete, forms a strong structure for underwater buildings.
Acrylic Glass: Resistant to sunlight, durable, and fairly rigid, acrylic plastics are well-suited to underwater construction. Since it is transparent, acrylic glass is used for underwater windows.
