The material is published in several languages: English (over 50%), Spanish (about 20%), followed by French, German, Italian and Portuguese. There are also publications in Basque, Dutch and other languages. Bibliographic searches can be made by using a combination of different search fields such as keywords, geographical location, relevant institutions, author, title, language, publication date, etc.
Online Catalogue The Online Catalogue is free and available at: http://www.iisj.es/bdiisj/. The Integrated Catalogue (Library and Documentation Centre’s databases) contains about 75,500 bibliographic references. Bibliographic searches can be made by using a combination of different search fields such as keywords, geographical location, relevant institutions, author, title, language, publication date, etc...
The Library’s Thematic Classification The RCSL created a Permanent Research Working Group in 1989 called the “Thesaurus on Sociology of Law”. This was chaired by A.J. Arnaud and initially included as members A. Devillé, T.C. Halliday, V. Pocar, and B. de Sousa Santos. After some time and with changes in the group’s members, a specialized thematic classification was worked out. Sole Aguirre and Elvira Muñoz attended as listeners to the working group’s biannual sessions. The current thematic classification includes a wide range and variety of themes and topics. The Library is permanently growing and increasing its complexity. Reorganising the cataloguing of the library is being carried out by the staff, who have expurgated and brought up to date many of the books under the advice of Johannes Feest and Vincenzo Ferrari.

El catálogo integrado (bases de datos de la Biblioteca y Centro de Documentación) contiene unas 75.500 referencias bibliográficas. Las búsquedas bibliográficas pueden realizarse mediante una combinación de campos de búsqueda, como palabras clave, situación geográfica, instituciones relevantes, autor, título, lengua, fecha de publicación, etc.
La clasificación temática de la Biblioteca En 1989, el RCSL creó un Grupo de Trabajo de Investigación Permanente denominado “Thesaurus on Sociology of Law”. Este grupo fue presidido por el prof. A.J. Arnaud e inicialmente estuvo compuesto por A. Devillé, T.C. Halliday, V. Pocar y B. de Sousa Santos. Después de algún tiempo y tras el cambio de alguno de los miembros del grupo, se elaboró una clasificación temática especializada. Sole Aguirre y Elvira Muñoz asistieron como oyentes a las sesiones bianuales del grupo de trabajo. La clasificación temática actual incluye una gran variedad de temas.

La Biblioteca está en permanente desarrollo y su complejidad crece día a día. La reorganización de la catalogación corre a cargo del personal de la biblioteca, que ha expurgado y actualizado muchos de los libros con el asesoramiento de Johannes Feest y Vincenzo Ferrari.

Customer services for loan, interlibrary loan, bibliographic information, document and digital files supply, photocopy cards, and any other library information.
Sala del personal: mostrador y mesas de trabajo para las tres empleadas de la biblioteca.
