Neville Odell – New Life Member

He said that it was only two years after Neville and wife Denise joined Sorrento in 2005 that Neville volunteered to take over the production of the Club’s newsletter.

But, to transform the newsletter into a 64-page, highly regarded professional magazine that has other clubs gobsmacked takes a huge amount of research (gathering information to place in his trusty notebook), composing well written and interesting stories and articles, and then having the editing and publishing skills to produce such an amazing document, takes time, skill, patience, and tenacity. Having done this for seventy editions covering fifteen years is something that is truly worthy of a life membership of the Sorrento Bowling Club.

In presenting his life membership badge Trevor also highlighted a wide range of other activities that Neville has performed over the years. This started as a member of the “2007 Membership and Marketing Business Group” that was instrumental in the development of the Club’s first strategic plan “2020 Vision”. He also served three years as our Sponsorship Manager.

Neville has also been instrumental in producing and maintaining a range of Club publications such as our Information booklet for new members, our annual Fixtures booklet and our recent Etiquette booklet as well as pamphlets like our Partnership and Wake brochures and much more.

Trevor congratulated Neville, on behalf of all members, for his sterling and selfless contribution to the Club and his richly deserved recognition with Life Membership.
