Tribute to Kevin Scammel (1930-2022
Budapest was the highlight. At the Club his highlights were winning the Plate in the 2012/13 Mixed Pairs Championship with Beth. A great achievement. They went on to win the 2013/14 Veterans' Mixed Pairs.
Kevin and I had quite a few lunches together with his rules in place. The rules were if I drove, he would pay and if he drove, I would pay. It was a good arrangement. Kevin liked his fish and chips and it became a ritual for Beth and Kevin to share Barramundi after Sunday bowls. My last memory of Kevin was lunch on the last Friday when fish and chips were on the menu. He did not want to go to the dining room he wanted his Barramundi from Seacrest. What a great member and always the real gentleman with smile on his face.

Volunteer Report
– Ron Taylor
In our June Quarter 2022 magazine we listed and acknowledged some of our volunteers. In this edition we would like to recognise some more of our volunteers viz:
• Rose Gannaway continues to look after our coffee machine. She does an amazing job cleaning and maintaining this unit which requires a deep clean once a week and topping up supplies several times a week • Our outgoing Governing Council for all their efforts over many years. On behalf of all our members we thank you all • Jim Woodward who is always prepared to write articles for our news magazine and is now also preparing regular reports on members' welfare
