Sorrento Ladies do well in Carnivals

In mid April this annual event was held at Merriwa. Sixteen Sorrento ladies competed in our four teams, with another two of our players helping out other teams short on numbers. With seven clubs from within the two shires represented, competition was fierce but friendly. Sorrento brought home the trophy finishing with 17 points, a narrow win over Merriwa 15, Joondalup 14, Wanneroo and Yanchep 11.5, Warwick 9 and Quinns Rocks 8.

Next year we will defend our title at Joondalup. Congratulations to all who participated and to the selectors who were on the phone up until the start of play, organising players between clubs.

Victoria Park/Carlisle "Touch of Style"

Seven of our ladies accepted an invitation to play fours in this year's two-day event at the end of April. Each team comprises two country and two metro players as selected by Vic Park Carlisle. The first morning started off wet and windy but quickly cleared and, although the

greens remained a little heavy, a full day's play of three games was completed. The following day was clear and sunny, with two more games before the playoffs for the final results. Coral Smith was a member of the composite team to win the two-day event, pictured here holding the trophy.
