As we begin the 2015 year, we are readily anticipating and excited for our Spring events! The last two weeks of February we will be collecting design materials for Zerolandfill, a nationally recognized positive impact movement that helps divert materials out of the landfill and back into the community. There will also be a Pittsburgh Paint CEU in February and a program tour of the new UHS Sky Tower in March. We're also planning several other continuing education courses.

Plans are well underway for Imagine That 2015 - Color My World. We're shaking things up this year with a new venue, a new charity and a whole new design challenge. Color My World will take our design teams on a fun filled journey through time and space using color and music as their inspiration. This year will be one you don't want to miss!

FALL EVENTS RECAP MEMBERSHIP SOCIAL - At this year’s membership social we focused on finding ways to have our members interact with students and potential new members. We also highlighted the benefits of being an IIDA member. Our membership chair developed a “scavenger hunt” that attendees received upon their RSVP to the event. The scavenger hunt featured fun scenarios that teach participants about IIDA. We are happy to report that our City Center membership is up 12 percent for 2015! PROGRAMS TOUR - IIDA San Antonio City Center had two architects from Marmon Mok present a design-focused program tour of the new Tobin Center of the Performing Arts. The newly renovated complex has been well received within the community and many designers have been interested in the transformation. Crossville Tile and Mannington Commercial + Amtico hosted a happy hour at Ocho afterwards where attendees discussed the tour. INDUSTRY ROUNDTABLE - We had excellent feedback at our industry roundtable that took place at Paloma Blanca. We are looking forward to another successful partnership year with our local industry representatives. Many of our local industry members gave honest input on how we can improve and continue to improve our relationship. WINTERFEST 2014 On Friday, December 5th our City Center hosted WinterFest at the AT&T Center during a Rampage Hockey Game. We rented out the FanZone and this event became one of our most highly attended events to date. Everyone in attendance received tickets to the game and the opportunity to ice skate on the rink afterwards with ice skates provided. During the game, everyone socialized with food, drinks, a silent auction, and a raffle. We had many wonderful silent auction items that were great last-minute Christmas gifts or de-stressors for after the holidays. This year our raffle prize was a week stay in San Miguel de Allende and a $300 airline voucher, donated by Gerflor USA. The raffle tickets were a hot commodity, as everyone was trying to increase their chances for the win. Congratulations JoAnn Sosa and Valla Design on winning the IIDA Winter Fest Raffle! And a special thank you to Gerry Barrientos and the crew from Spectrum Lighting for donating back their winning raffle ticket. We also held a wreath decorating contest and a Pop-A-Shot tournament with prizes for both an adult and kid winner. We encouraged our members to bring their significant others and families to this fun event! Santa was on hand, taking photos with young and old alike.

IIDA San Antonio City Center is thrilled to announce our biggest event of the year Imagine That 2015: Color My World benefiting SAY-Si!
