Equipping Christians as witnesses for Christ
Greetings from Bob Snyder, M.D., President My first thought is one of gratitude for you. Thank you for walking with us on this ministry journey. After 20 years, several questions come to mind.
1. What do we administer when someone is suddenly without breath or pulse—physically dying? You know the answer: cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Before its inception in the 1960s, people sat helplessly by the dying. After its “discovery”, the entire population had an opportunity to learn CPR. Now lives are continually saved. This causes me to ask….
2. What do we administer when a person’s soul is dying? Do we believe people’s souls are dying? How do we administer “CPR” for the dying soul that is breathless and has no pulse? How do we prepare ourselves with “spiritual CPR”? For the last 15 years, we have been providing Christian healthcare workers around the world the training to provide “spiritual CPR”, through our witness training program, The Saline Process. To date, more than 16,000 healthcare workers in over 90 countries have been equipped to share the love and reality of Jesus at the beside and in clinics where they work. Now it is time to equip everyone, not only healthcare workers. We are continuing to develop SALT & LIGHT, a witness training program for all believers. We are excited at the positive response from initial pilot testing. A relief and development worker says,
“[I learned how] to be a witness; not simply to witness.”
We as Christians have thousands of “touch points” each year to cultivate and sow, and sometimes we have the privilege to harvest. Our witness training programs are designed to walk trainees through simple and yet powerful ways to cultivate relationships, sow seeds of truth and harvest through knowing how to share the Gospel, as the Lord leads. We are grateful to you who make this work possible. To all who are praying, we thank you. I believe it is the root of blessing. To all who give, you have given us the privilege to serve. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for your obedience to God. May God richly bless you.

Samar’s Story A paraplegic patient’s experience with a Saline Process-trained healthcare team in Northern India *Samar was first treated by a group of nurses who cared for him with compassion and respect. Although they labored to keep him clean and change his catheters, they joyfully and faithfully engaged in their work. These nurses then treated Samar in his home as they continued to sow seeds of faith. Later, the Christian doctor overseeing the case had an opportunity to respectfully share the whole Gospel with Samar. This was a chance to speak of the loving truth that Samar had already experienced through the entire team. After being cared for and hearing of God’s love for him, Samar decided to follow Jesus. He has been welcomed as a friend to those who cared for him in his time of need. Team members have taken him out to dinner and welcomed him into the family of believers. In addition, the doctor who cared for Samar has decided to concentrate his studies in rehabilitation medicine rather than internal medicine, a more prestigious track. His experience with Samar has transformed his own passions. This doctor is now keen to see other Christian doctors around him trained in the Saline Process so that they can ethically and compassionately engage their patients with the full love of Christ. *Name changed for protection.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S CORNER
“But you will receive power when the in Jerusalem, and in all Judea a
from Gábor Györi, M.D., Executive Director During my many years as a practicing physician in Hungary, I was able to use the skills and tools of the Saline Process—a witness training program of IHS Global. In my current position of leadership, I am encouraged and strengthened each morning by the memories of my patients who, in a time of need, allowed me to introduce to them the love of Jesus Christ.
“The guilt has been lifted off my shoulders. I will never be the same.” —SALINE PROCESS PARTICIPANT, U.S.A.
I am reminded of a former Communist secret service agent giving his life to the Lord, of praying Psalm 133 with the son of an orthodox rabbi in the clinic, and of many others. The multiplication of moments like these continue as hundreds of thousands of patients encounter Jesus Christ throughout the witnesses equipped by the Saline Process. I want to remind you that God is at work—in you, in me, and through the globe. You, through your prayers and support, are the foundation. May you continue to be encouraged. Read on to see what God has done in 2016!
Thanks to the International Saline Partnership and the faithfulness of givers like you, more Christian healthcare workers were trained in the Saline Process this year than ever before. IHS Global continues in our mission to equip and encourage Christians as witnesses for Christ, in healthcare and beyond. As we reflect on the global reach of our ministry, we give thanks for every individual who went through an initial training this year and is now receiving follow-up communication. Each person trained represents countless patients and colleagues who will experience the touch and truth of Christ as a result.

Witness for Christ
Elizabeth’s Story: A nurse’s experience attending a Saline Process training in Kenya I was told to attend this Saline Process event and I wondered how nursing and this training were connected. During the training, I learned how my work is related to the spiritual work of God through the Saline Process.
I work at a clinic and sometimes the day is busy and we just want to finish what we are doing. But, now I have come to understand why the spiritual care of a client is important and though I am busy, I can create time for the client and share my Christian way of life. May God bless you because I will also be able to apply what I have learned in my house, with my children. May God bless you.
I have come to understand why the spiritual care of a client is important.
”In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
