Girl leaders prep virtually for Girl Scout Week celebration
Due to the restrictions brought about by the pandemic, this year’s Girl Scout Week is celebrated virtually with the theme: "Moving Forward: Sustainable Actions by the Girls, For the Girls''. The week-long celebration highlights the Girl Scouts’ mission and vision by discovering and learning more of our talents and creativity. Various online activities related to the event were conducted nationwide from September 20 until 26, 2020. The Iloilo Girl Scout Council also had its version to mark this important event, with girl-leaders initiating virtual activities for all girl scouts. Each day started with a Scout's Own Ceremony. A specific theme marked the days which were dubbed as the Environment Day, Faith Day, Family Day, Community Day, and Troop Leaders Day. The week ended with Girl's Day.
Igniting the fire of scouting in every girl is the true essence of this celebration as we manifested empowerment and continue to epitomize our founder's foresight and heroism. This reignited the fire within us serves as a quantum leap which keeps the girl scouting spirit alive especially on the 122ndbirthday of Josefa Llanes Escoda.
