Communication Our primary means of regular correspondence is via email. Urgent correspondence will be via text/phone.

Please ensure you have provided us with the correct contact information and have marked our email as ‘not spam’.

Absences If you know ahead of time that your child will be absent due to holidays/vacations, commitments or school trips, please let us know ahead of time so the class impact is minimal. If your child is too unwell to attend class, we ask that you send an email or text as soon as you can so we can let the teachers know and preparations can be made to catch up on any missed work.

Please send an email, text or message via Band In the instance that your child is unable to physically attend class but would still like to participate, a virtual meeting can be set up through ‘Zoom’ if more than 4 hours of notice is given. This is at the discretion of the class teacher.

Attendance We expect all students to maintain an 80% attendance rate. In the event your dancer’s attendance drops below this percentage without clear communication, Ignite staff members will be in touch to check in and address any concerns. Attendance below 80% may impact a dancer’s ability to take part in events, examinations and performances

Band We use Band as a platform to communicate with parents and students. It is easy to use and independent of social media platforms.

Fees and Payments Payment Options Weekly Payment Plans: Invoice split into weekly instalments, paid weekly.

Instalments: Invoice split into two equal payments, due before the first day of classes and mid-term.

Termly: Invoice due prior to the first day of classes each term The first payment must be received before the start of each term.

Late fees will apply for overdue accounts.

Sunday 28th January

Studio Expectations A Guideline for Students Before Class Arrive 10 - 15 minutes early to warm up your body and ensure you are prepared for class.

Be dressed and groomed before class starts, adhering to the dress code.

Use the bathroom and hydrate yourself before class commences.

Remove street shoes before entering the studio.

Please mute or turn off mobile phones and keep them out of the studios.

Late to Class If possible, let the studio know that you will be late.

Knock before entering the studio and wait for the teacher’s indication to join in. Address the teacher and apologise for being late.

After Class Curtsey or bow and thank your teacher.

Leave the studio clean and organised, putting away rubbish and returning used equipment.

Injuries If you are injured before or become injured during class, let the teacher know immediately.

If you are injured please still attend class. Your class teacher will be able to guide you on what you can do.

Representing the studio We regard all of our students as ambassadors for Ignite Dance WA. When representing Ignite please be mindful of representing our values with pride. Treat your peers and members of the community with respect. When representing Ignite at Dance events please: Ensure you are very well-groomed with an appropriate uniform.

Wear an Ignite branded uniform item. Please ensure this is clean.

Be at least 15 minutes early to ensure you are on time.

Personally thank any teachers, tutors, staff and volunteers at the event.

Keep the area with your belongings clean and tidy.

Respect Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and respect. At Ignite we have a zero-tolerance bullying policy. In the rare case a student or parent is disrespectful, a meeting will be called immediately and dismissal may be considered at the discretion of the Directors.

Studio Expectations A Guideline for Parents Studio Etiquette Please ensure that your dancer arrives at the studio 10 - 15 minutes before their class time to adequately warm up and become prepared for class.

We ask that parents/guardians be mindful of traffic flow when waiting in the foyer. There is a pick-up area outside the foyer for parents/guardians to wait in peak traffic time.

When in the building, please keep voices down so as to not disturb classes.

Before leaving the studio, ensure that the area is clean and organised.

Observation We have organised ‘open weeks’ each term for you to watch your dancer and celebrate their progress! When watching your dancer please do not try and draw their attention away from the class. Before taking any photos or recording, please consult the class teacher prior.

Nutrition The health of our dancers is a top priority. As a strenuous sport, please ensure that all students bring a water bottle. Dancers need food to fuel their work; please be mindful of limiting sugary and processed foods. A well-balanced, healthy meal will provide the dancers with the energy they require in class.
