INSIDE THIS ISSUE In this issue of The Scorecard , our cover story on page 12 looks at the 2023 BC Amateur Championship held at Morningstar GC in Parksville on Vancouver Island. Brad Ziemer has the story on the fine play of Kelowna's Cooper Humphreys as he captured his 1st BC Amateur crown. In addition to that Brad also has the wrap-up on page 14 of the BC Sr. Men's Championship, held this year at Williams Lake GC, resulting in a very happy 'homecoming' for Andrew Pinette. You'll also find the summaries of BC Golf 's Bantam & Juvenile Championships on pages, 28, 29 & 30. In keeping with a stellar year of firsts for BC Golf, our province played host to the inaugural Indigenous Challenge Match between Ontario & British Columbia held at PG 8 | OCT 2023
Victoria's Bear Mountain Resort. The match came down to an exciting finish and included a comeback victory for BC (page 27). Of course this past summer Vancouver 's Shaughnessy G&CC played host to the CPKC Women's Open after it had originally been postponed due to the Covid outbreak in 2020. The event was wonderfully received and some of the stories accompanying the tournament included a kids clinic put on by LPGA rookie sensation Rose Zhang (see page 32) and some invaluable experience for the many BC amateurs who gained entry into the field (page 18). Sadly, we also said goodbye to well-respected rules official and volunteer Dan Sabourin. You can read his Memoriam on page 26.

You kind of knew at that point that this was a kid worth watching. He hasn?t disappointed. READ COMPLETE STORY HERE PG 12 | OCT 2023
