Pre - Winter Camp 1) Medical Research Methodology Basics: Empirical evidence shows that the benefits from early exposure to scientific research as an undergraduate are numerous and far reaching1. By knowing a more about the fantasy of research world, students can identify research career as the alternative to clinical practice (or to choose to pursuit both). In addition, they will be able to read and critically evaluate the published literature, balance between studying and collaborative work, and improve their CVs for better opportunities abroad. According to Amgad et al.2 An average of 30% of research projects undertaken by medical students gets published in international peer-reviewed journals. In addition, Countries like Germany, Peru, Finland, France and some U.S. universities makes it mandatory for medical students to submit a research project in order to graduate with the title “Doctor. As part of IFMSA-Egypt mission to raise the awareness of Egyptian medical student about the evidence-based practice, we see that it is our duty to spread the knowledge of proper medical research practice among our colleagues and future researchers. We design this workshop to

deliver the following objectives: Basics of study design, scientific writing, and bio-medical statistics. 1.Murdoch-Eaton D, Drewery S, Elton S, et al. A number of studies point to the lack of adequate training in the medical management of disaster response – a deficiency that has become dramatically apparent in the recent past. In every major emergency there are still significant numbers of aid personnel who lack some of essential skills, many governments and scientific institutions agree that disaster medicine education should be included in the standard medical curriculum. The importance of enhancing education and training in disaster medicine has widely been perceived by medical students emphasizing that are willing to respond to public health emergencies and disasters. We Aim to: Medical students have basic knowledge on disaster medicine and humanitarian health and respect towards the sanctuary of health services,
with a holistic humanitarian approach of health

“Adolescent Health: Investing today for a healthier tomorrow” Adolescence is a critical link between child health and future adult health. The definition of adolescence varies across countries and cultures, but generally begins with the biological changes of puberty and ends with the adoption of adult social roles and responsibilities. It is a period of significant physical, emotional, and social changes, presenting new health risks as well as unique opportunities for health promotion. Additionally, many behaviors that start in this period have longterm health implications: An estimated 70 percent of premature adult deaths are due to behaviors begun in adolescence. Today’s generation of young people is the largest in history. Over one-quarter of the world’s population is between the ages of 10 and 24, with close to 90 percent living in low- or middle-income countries. Despite its importance and magnitude, adolescent health has historically received limited attention, and progress has been slow. Greater understanding of and investment in adolescence will deliver significant future returns in individual well-being and in national growth and development. Given today’s large youth population and the impact of adolescent health on adult health behaviors and outcomes, attention to adolescence should be expanded within the Sustainable Development Goals and beyond their emphasis on sexual and reproductive health to include adolescence as a primary focus in the emerging global health agendas of mental health, injury prevention, and noncommunicable diseases. The strong networks that have formed to support child health can serve as a template for the still-emerging field of adolescent health. Including young people in the formation of these networks and the development of policies, programs, and interventions targeting adolescents will increase the relevance and effectiveness of those efforts. In Egypt, Adolescents still face lack of youth friendly services that tailor to their needs, with some success made in certain areas, there are still a long way to go. The setbacks in providing quality reproductive health services and education to adolescents in school age, still adversely affects many aspects of the daily lives of egyptian adolescents. As well as the need for a greater focus on having youth friendly mental health facilities and psychiatry clinics that operate for day time treatment as well as providing in patient services. During the winter camp we will understand the importance of adolescents’ health and how investing in their health will reshape the society to a healthier generation, focusing on global policies and their application to the national situation.
