There is more behind the front… A controversial decision.

The word “Unfair”, according to Webster´s dictionary is “contrary to laws or conventions”, and as an adjective, unfair is something “characterized by inequality or injustice”.

No, I’m not trying to give an English lesson, neither am I trying to be an etymology reference, I’m just trying to make myself clear about FIFA’s (La Fédération Internationale de Football Association) decision about the winner of the “FIFA’s World’s Best 2010 Footballer”, award given last January 11th in Zurich, Switzerland, to the Argentinean soccer player, Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona, a controversial decision that has been created since the decision itself.

Last Tuesday in Zurich, as I mentioned before, a gala night was held, in which coaches, players, managers, ex players, and the whole world, experienced more than adrenaline and anxiety. Why of this ? because together with other important awards such as “FIFA’s World’s Best 2010 Coach”, were about to be given. The process was clear; all the captains from each national team which participated in the last World Cup, and their respective coaches, were the ones who selected winners in each category of the several ones that exist. “FIFA’s World’s Best 2010 player”, was an important award, and although it has always been the ‘special one’ and the most wished for, this time things were going on differently.

I know it’s difficult to handle a decision against a player such as Messi, this little striker has shocked the world since his first appearance in Spain. When you see him playing on the field, he looks as if he were an elementary kid because of his short size. There is no doubt that I am talking about a fantastic player, one who plays for a great team called Barcelona, certainly the best one in the world, but we are blinded if we don´t notice the very inner of this team. Unfortunately football or soccer turns a little unfair when it comes to highlighting players.

We are often delighted by those who perform dribbles or score as many goals as possible, but if we stopped for a second and analyzed deeply, there would be more than that.

However, during this 2010 there were two outstanding Spanish players who stood out and their hands for this past year nomination, Xavi Hernández and Andrés Iniesta, two of Spain’s National Team world champion players. Without being well-known strikers such as some others, two midfielders were the ones who were selected in that category. Not only was that a normal thing for me but also something expected for me because of their achievements.

This makes us go backwards, this is not about what Messi is or is not, on the contrary, we are recognizing two great careers, from two players that had not the same spotlights than players in other field zone. Statistics are cruel; we have to travel back in time to 2006 to find the last defensive player features that had won this award, the Italian player, Fabio Cannavaro. In addition, statistics become more frivolous if we deepen to the number of defensive players that had achieved the award, since 1956, only 13 players had done the feat. Incredible isn’t it? I still believe this is not a surprise at all, hardly had I noticed people that focus on a great pass or a good slide, instead of a driveling or a goal.

I want to underestimate the Argentinean´s achievements, this thing is as simple as this: Messi has been a terrific player, but he is not what he always is without Iniesta or Xavi Hernández , they are the ones that make him shine inside the green rectangle, besides, these two players were Spain’s offensive and defensive power unit. People should not confuse two very different things. A player can be the best in the business, but when someone or some association is recognizing what you have achieved during 365 days; talent has to be replaced by acquisitions and there is no doubt his two teammates fulfilled that.

Not everything is negative at the end of the day, I recall perfectly Xavi’s words during an interview with the ESPN some time ago. “I’m fine, Lionnel (Messi) is the best, and he won. I am proud about him and about myself.” Sticking in my mind the idea that he is not just an extraordinary player just like

his countryman Iniesta, he is also a mentally downto-earth human being. Who will be this year best player? We really don't know, honestly we wish we kne Cristiano Ronaldo, perhaps Messi again, Kaká, Fernando Torres, Berbatov, who knows.

But I guess that never will we witness such a controversial award like this year’s. The history will say that 2010 best player according to FIFA was Messi, but we all know deep inside that there is more to talk about, what was fair, and who the true winners were.

Le français, une langue pour tous !

Par Maria Emilia Rodriguez Pourquoi est-ce que le français c’est important pour moi? En premier lieu, je voudrais exprimer la raison pour laquelle j'étudie le français. Cette langue, est une condition requise de mes études des langues étrangères, mais, je ne l’étudie pas seulement pour ce motif, la langue me plaît. Une autre raison pour ça, est que je pense que c’est essentiel de l’apprendre parce qu’actuellement il faut devenir multilingue pour obtenir du succès dans les affaires commerciales, industrielles, etc.

Une personne qui peut utiliser couramment plusieurs langues a, en définitive, un futur assuré, et j’ai l’intention de devenir une traductrice.

Mais, pourquoi le français ? Quelques personnes disent que ça ne sert à rien. Ils disent que c’est une belle langue, mais qu’elle n’a pas d’importance pour l’apprendre, que la langue se pratique seulement en France… Oui, ces affirmations peuvent être vraies, mais, il y a la possibilité de travailler à l’étranger, de voyager et pouvoir communiquer, d’enrichir votre culture et, pourquoi pas ?, d’être un peu romantique !

I feel quite exhausted today. I close my eyes and open them again, and during those intervals, I lay my eyes on that painting that hangs on one of the living room walls at home. It is a dead spot that I find rather alive on which I normally rest my tired eyes every time I sit on the couch. The painting will soon turn 15 years old. It was exclusively painted for me by my Lebanese friend Farah, who had asked me on one rainy afternoon what I missed the most from Tampico besides my family during those years I lived in Mexico City.

I certainly didn’t hesitate to answer because I knew exactly what I missed. I told her I missed the Atlantic Ocean breeze on my face and the October moons hanging in the sky and that I also longed for the dark stormy clouds announcing bad weather. From all of those remembrances and comments made by me, a quite unique painting was born. It is a painting of a lonesome sea with brilliant blues and grays on waves and clouds. There is this full moon about to be devoured by heavy, thick layers of threatening clouds getting closer and closer.

The sea painting has together with me changed addresses a couple of times. Once it faced the south somewhere in Mexico. Some other time it balanced itself on a white wall in Mexico City. Years later, the painting decorated a naked hall in which it was necessary to flip a coin. If it were heads a secondhand bookshelf bought at the “Lagunilla” auction was pushed inside through a narrow door, If luck favored tails, a green vintage sofa that was gently donated to my apartment by an ex-boss, would occupy the corner.

For a while, the wooden framed painting carefully observed all the steps of a bunch of lunatics who would hurriedly walk through the long hallway. Every single morning, the sea kept an eye on those savage fellows who used to fight the supremacy of one bathroom at my parents' house. when the crowd seemed to be rather noisy and out of control, the painting would splash some water out of its frame so that they would knock it off. Now that the sea has gotten old and has lost much water because of the constant moving around the country, the painting hangs on a beige suave wall lit by dim lights from which together with the winds, the roaring of the waters and the barking of two Basque female dogs, patiently waits for its owner to return.

En décembre, passé je suis allée à Nice, France pour suivre un petit cours de français. Ma mère a pris contact avec une école qui s’appelle International House et ils m’ont trouvé une famille d’accueil et le 4 Décembre j’ai quitté le Mexique. Le voyage a été une catastrophe, le vol de la Ville de Mexico-Paris a été annulé et par conséquence j’ai perdu l’autre vol Paris-Nice. Finalement, je suis arrivée à Nice deux heures en retard et il n’y avait personne à l’aéroport ; la famille d’accueil n’était pas arrivée ! Alors, j’ai appelé l’école et le directeur, Monsieur Rubenstein, a répondu, j’ai expliqué toute la situation; après quelques minutes, ma famille d’accueil est arrivée. C’est un couple, Astrid et JeanClaude Chazottes.

Jean-Claude est un pilot retiré d’Air France et Astrid est professeur des écoles. Les Chazottes sont gentils et sympas, ils ont beaucoup de patience avec les étudiantes de français parce que cela fait dix ans qu’ils reçoivent des étudiants chez eux, spécialement les japonais. Jean-Claude aime la culture et la langue japonaise, alors, s’il y a des étudiants qui viennent du Japon il peut profiter beaucoup !

Une fois, on a joué au Scrabble avec son fils Adrien ; moi, avec mon petit dictionnaire, j’ai gagné. Je suis restée chez les Chazottes que deux semaines mais j’ai beaucoup appris. Ils m’ont donné des recettes, du thé pour emporter chez moi et un sentiment de famille dans un pays vraiment inconnu. J’ai été triste de quitter leur appartement parce que, maintenant, c’est comme chez moi aussi. Ils me manquent plus que ma mère m’avais manqué quand j’étais là-bas. J’ai beaucoup aimé Nice, les gens sont serviable et la ville sans danger. Un jour, je voudrais y retourner et j’aimerais bien visiter Madame et Monsieur Chazotte une autre fois.

By Carlos Moreno My experience with Huracanes was more than great. Talking about basketball, it’s the most important thing I have done so far. The things I learned in the year I was with them are those kinds of things you keep for the rest of your life without drifting away.

The way I got involved with Huracanes was strange, but at the same time it was funny. I ended my school year at a McAllen Texas high school and went to a national tournament in the state of Michoacan where the best players were going to be called to join the national basketball team. They made some practices to choose the best 12; unfortunately I was the last player they took out.

I took all this as a failure and as soon as I got to Tampico I told my mom I wanted to dedicate this year to my studies full time. It was no surprise my mom was happy about that. She said it was the first time she had heard that from me. On the first day of classes I talked to one of my ex-coaches, Fidel Martinez, and he told to go to Huracanes tryouts, but I refused to go so we discussed it for a while and I ended up going. I talked to coach Daniel Jaule and in few words I told him that Fidel had sent me to compare my level with them. On the try out game, I made a good performance and the coach told me to write my name, address, and that I had to go to the first practice.

At the beginning I wasn’t going to the big team, I was going to be in some kind of project, and I was going to play in a smaller team, but after my first practice the coach told to sign in. At this moment I felt that what I was doing, all my sacrifices, all my hard work, all my dreams have come true, of course, I said yes. After a few practices, the team started to support me. They taught me a lot of things and they told me what I was doing wrong and what I was doing right. I felt really comfortable with them and the way they took care of me. As the practices and the preseason kept moving on, I got home and told my parents about my day and the practice.

I remember how I got excited when I talked to them about everything and I guess, they were feeling the same way. At the beginning my mother kept telling me not to go. She said how she wanted me to only focus on school, but after the first game, she totally changed her mind, and now she hurries me up to go training.

Something I won’t forget, ever, is the first game I had. I remember getting to the gym biting my lips because I wanted to laugh. Everything was new for me and as soon as I got there, everybody was getting ready. Outside people started to prepare the stores to organize the merchandise. Inside people were cleaning up, the media was getting ready. People from Televisa and Sky were there as well. The sound system was being tested through the speakers all around.

I remember walking slowly because I wanted to see everything, I saw doc, and our helpers, and finally I got to the dressing rooms. I was thrilled because I felt in the right place at the right time, everything was perfect and then I laughed to myself, as I open the door and saw the chairs aligned, our uniforms with our names on, and everything still inside the plastic bag. Socks, bags, everything brand new. Then the team started to get there. We were chilling, talking, laughing. Then we changed our clothes to warm up and while we were warming up , guys from Sky told us to stand in front of the cameras to say our name and then to create a phrase. I remember I had to do it twice because I was laughing; it was hard for me, although I had had some experience while doing the photo shooting of the team and had done it twelve times in a row.

While the game was starting they introduced everybody. When they said my name I didn’t know what to do, I just followed everybody. It was like I had completed my goal when they yelled name in that microphone. I just raise my hand up in the air and thanked everybody for supporting me. And so the game started. It was Huracanes vs Shooting Stars. In the beginning it was a tough game, we were tie but at the end we were winning by too much. I heard the coach call my name. I started shaking, I stood up as fast as I could and ran to where he was and he said some instructions and slapped me as if cheering me up. He told me everything was alright. I called the substitution, and the referee told me to wait.

At this point my adrenaline was so high that I felt I could fly. My nervousness was attacking , but I remembered something that our sports manager Sergio Treviño had told me during the warm ups…

“Play as if it were your last time in a professional team, enjoy it and give your best, you got nothing to lose” I kept those words in my head the whole season.

So there was a foul, The Referee whistled. I went in and the crowd started to cheer me up. I felt like a baby deer, my feet were trembling. Omar Quintero hugged me and cheered me up, now I was by myself. All I had to do was to enjoy the game and to do my job. I was so focused that the things I had to do were stuck in my head like some kind of list that I was checking. The first time I got the ball I knew that I had to get noticed so I started calling the play and making sure everyone was doing their job.

Few minutes before the game ended someone from shooting stars shot and I went for that rebound before another player got it and I tipped the ball and passed it to “Chiapas” my teammate. I knew it I had to make this fast break so when he got the ball I ran as fast as I could. He passed it to me and I made it. People were shouting, supporting me. I could believe my first points as a professional player.

It was like a dream. I scored on my debut. A lot of people from the staff wanted to see my debut and I didn’t let them down. I did my job. I was relieved, and ready to work hard the rest of the season, and that’s exactly what I did.

After the first game the season started, all the media was behind us. Every time we went to make some social service, I was the first to get there because I didn’t want to lose any minute of that experience. They told me to go 3 times to an interview at Televisa del Golfo. It wasn’t my first interview on TV but it was my first interview alone. I remembered trying not to get distracted because I wanted to answer everything. My second interview was pretty much the same thing but now I felt comfortable. My most horrible interview was also the worst because I slept the whole afternoon and I didn’t remember that I had that interview so I jumped out of bed and ran to the car. I picked up a player to go with me and when we got there the show was already on. They told us to join in and I was falling asleep during the program, and when they asked me something my mind went blank. I answered the most stupid thing I could ever answer. I saw the other guys laughing at me outside the set but it was a good experience though.

I kept on practicing with the team, going as hard as I could in every practice and results started to appear. In the beginning of winter vacation, we traveled to Poza Rica. They welcomed me to the league by cutting off my hair as terribly as they could. Everybody saw me, and laughed. I was really mad I didn’t want to play. They told me it was a tradition and that after this episode; nobody was going to mess with to me.

We even traveled to Leon, Guanajuato and Nuevo Laredo Tamaulipas. I had so much fun during the trips and although everybody was picking on me they still taught me a lot of things.

We lost all the games. They didn’t want me there anymore, and they said my bad luck was hurting the team. One of those trips was during playoffs which are the finals. They used to tell us playoffs were only for men, not for kids so we had to practice way harder and much better. At this point I saw the great job of coaches and how they were prepared. My first week at school was amazing, I made friends right away. I met the most wonderful people you’d ever imagine. They were already a nice and compact group of friends from different countries: Brazil, Switzerland, Germany and South Korea. They took me in quickly and without questions, they made me feel welcomed.

I felt like I had found home in the hearts of people I’d never thought I’d meet. I opened my thoughts and my heart to these strangers only to find appreciation. Nobody judged me, nobody messed with me. I was happy, comfortable and safe. I felt, like I said, at home. Those were the best six weeks of my life.

Vancouver, and my friends, gave me the chance to rediscover myself. I now find myself a happier and self confident person. I left Vancouver with e-mails, home addresses and promises; promises that I’d e-mail, send letters and postcards but most important, promises to meet again. A few people thought it’d be too hard but I believe it’s possible.

To this day, I keep in touch with some of my friends. Some others are busy still traveling around. I think of Vancouver and the people I met there every day. I see the pictures they upload of things they’ve done after I left.

For my next vacation period I have so many choices: South Korea, Germany, Japan… I have a hard choice ahead of me, but this is a long life, there will be time. I’ll see them again someday, I’m sure.

They invented some new plays, and scouted all the teams of the playoffs so that we knew what we had to do against them. During those trips, I got to see some videos about the game plan, and some more things.

Trips were a great part of my experience with Huracanes. On my first trip I forgot my uniform and the coach was furious at me, but I always experienced new things in each of the trips I made with the team.

I will never forget anything about this great experience and from the beginning to the end it was perfect. I enjoyed it to the max. I’m very thankful with my coaches Daniel Jaule and Jose Angel Garcia for giving me the opportunity to participate in the team and also for having trusted me during the games. Everybody was like a big family caring for each other and well, If I had the opportunity to do it again, I´d do it again..

By Samuel Williamson Your passport, valid ID and a Ticket to France is all you need to apply to the French foreign legion, an elite branch of the French military composed only by foreigners and commanded by French officers, a fighting force with qualities such as strong fighting spirit, high Espirit de corps (morale) and a whole variety of traditions preserved by these soldiers for more than a century.

On March 10 of 1831 the king of France Louis Philippe (1773 – 1850) created an army of non-French soldiers, to avoid government laws which prohibit foreigners from joining the French army, these new recruits included revolutionaries from the east of Europe, former convicts, and every outsider who was willing to serve France.

Although the French foreign legion is famous for taking everyone to their lines, there is a long recruitment process, before becoming a legionnaire, First of all the appliers must travel to France and present themselves to one FFL recruiting office of 17 places across France, You don’t need to speak French, and usually, the guard will see your backpack and he’ll probably know what you’re up to, and something simple like “bonjour Je suis venus pour joindre la legion etrangere” (“good day I’m coming to join the foreign legion”) will be more than enough. When 12 to 16 people gather, a bus will take you to fort Aubagne.

There are 4 rounds, the first will be a medical checkup through which they’ll test your eyesight, they will see if you have a healthy heart and all sort of medical exams. The second round is psychometric exam in which you will have to complete exercises on a computer, testing your mental ability, adding missing number on a sequence, and molding an unfolded geometry figure into a specific position with

the clock ticking. The third round is physical abilities, you’ll be required to perform pushups, pull ups, sit ups, short sprints and other several maneuvers, and the fourth round is an interview with a FFL officers where you will have to explain your reason of joining the legion, as well as your determination to do so.

Your all around skill, and past criminal records (murder and drug related crimes record aren´t allowed). Any volunteer, who fails any round, will be removed from the recruitment process. This whole process will last around 3 or 4 weeks, in which you will be removed from all your personal items, including your clothes (you´ll be given a blue sport suit), The only items that may be retained by you are toiletries, a watch, underwear and socks and a French dictionary, your Passport will be returned after the 3 weeks selection, or after the 5 years contract.

Chinese, Latin-American’s, Germans, Japanese, Rumanians, Czechs, Polish and worldwide volunteers who passed all tests, will need to prove if they are worth of the legion, in a six month training, this process will be mentioned later, in this period quitters will have the opportunity to return to their homeland, if they realize they’re not ready for the legion, or they can be discharged by the offices, if they prove not to be useful to the corp.

As mentioned above, the instruction process lasts around 6 months. The basic training starts at Castelnaudary, first of all you will be assigned a recruit that shares your own nationality, who will make sure, you’re learning French, and in Castelnaudary, you’ll go to a building nearby called Bell air, here you’ll be instructed in weapons handling, Particularly the assembly of the FAMAS (Fusil d'Assaut de la Manufacture d'Armes de Saint-Étienne) french military service rifle since 1978, weapon cleaning, physical fitness, navigation, camouflage and concealment, target, indication, first aid, fire control orders, patrolling, ambushes, drill and arms drill, marching and learning and singing different legion songs.

Apart from the learning, there is a constant character molding atmosphere, wich include being under constant pressure, sleep deprivation, very small meals, and rigorous emphasis at keeping things clean and order, youll be required to polish your boots at least three times a day, and all of your clothing should be perfectly folded or an officer will turn upside down not only your possessions, but of all the barracks, youll need to iron your uniform in an outstanding manner, and obviously all the actions should be accomplished ASAP (as soon as possible).

And as every other force around the world, if you mess up, there are consequences to face. This may include, receiving rocks to carry in your back pack as a present from your officers, digging a big hole where you will later be buried all the way to the neck, being forced to wear a rucksack with wires instead of two straps, you could be told to carry a stone in your mouth and constantly being asked to show it to prove it still there, bending your legs till your bottom almost reaches the floors, and start walking in this positions while you make sounds like a duck, running, doing exercises, and the common slaps kicks and cursing.

Before Belair instruction comes to an end, you’ll have to perform a 50 km march carrying the “famas” and your rucksack for no less than 3 days. After fulfilling the march, you will be awarded with the famous kepi blanc (white kepi). The Legionnaires have cited, that the kepi blanc should be given several months later, after finishing “le raid” which is a much longer march and a harder test. Le Raid (in sports long distance trek) is the final test to become a legionnaire. It is a 150 km march, and 3 days for completion. This march involves tactical maneuvers, the legionnaires will encounter villages, where they’ll have to negotiate with the people or make a tactical approach,

they will often face sudden ambushes, so they are forced to move on specific manners, one moves and one covers, frequently aiming down sights searching for targets.

After the weary task is completed, the legion traditions will demand one last effort which is that all equipment should be returned to the barracks after the march is over, and since is your final test, all everything must be impeccable, all the section weapons, will be disarmed, greased and oiled, cleaned and left spotless, officers will give you orders to clean almost everything you’ve used in your stance at the legion, and this process may take 20 hours. At the ceremony a badge will be laid upon your chest.

Once in Fort Aubagne, legionnaires choose the regiment they will serve, and each regiment has its own motto. These are some: 2nd REP: More Majorum (According to the traditions of our ancestors) The 2nd Foreign Parachute Regiment is an Airborne regiment.

3rd REI: Legio Patria Nostra (the legion is our fatherland) the 3rd Foreign Infantry. The regiment is stationed in French Guiana.

13th DBLE: More Majorum (According to the traditions of our ancestors) The 13th Foreign Legion Demi-Brigade is a mechanized infantry demi-brigade.

2nd REI: Être prêt (Be ready) The 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment is an infantry regiment created in 1841 and is situated in the south of France at Nimes DLEM: Pericula ludus (Danger is my pleasure) (DLEM). The Detachment is meant to establish a French presence in the region, enabling the French armed forces to quickly react to events in the Indian Ocean and the east coast of Africa.

1st REC: Nec pluribus impar (No other equal) The 1st Foreign Cavalry is the only armored cavalry regiment in the French Foreign Legion. It is one of two cavalry regiments of the 6th Light Armored Brigade.

1st REG: Ad unum (To the end) The 1st Foreign Engineer is a Military engineer. It is a part of the 6th Light Armoured Brigade. It is said that, when a man becomes part of the legion, his soldiering essence lies in his spirit but this spirit doesn’t end in just one person, but it extends and works as a whole in this fighting force to achieve victory over the given mission. I believe this intention lives in the motto, which every legionnaire has written on the back of his eyelid: “Legio patria nostra” “The legion is our homeland” Every man who enters the legion, is a volunteer, which means, he’s there because he wants to, not because their country is in danger, they’ve been drafted, they want soldier benefits, or because they want world peace, I believe the reason is simple, they feel the warriors call and are willing to prove themselves in battle or continue to do so. As I’ve heard before, man true colors flourish on the battlefield.

The code of honor contains the virtues a legionnaire shall follow and some are: 1. Legionnaire: you are a volunteer serving France faithfully and with honor.

2. Every Legionnaire is your brother-at-arms, irrespective of his nationality, race or creed. You will demonstrate this by an unwavering and straight forward solidarity which must always bind together members of the same family.

3. Respectful of the Legion's traditions, honoring your superiors, discipline and comradeship are your strength, courage and loyalty your virtues.

4. Proud of your status as a legionnaire, you will display this pride, by your turnout, always impeccable, your behavior, ever worthy, though modest, your living-quarters, always tidy.

An important event that place in the morning of April 30 of 1863 was when a group of legionnaires led by the captain Jean Danjou fought a much larger Mexican force, It was a patrol that consisted of three officers and 62 foreign legionnaires which had the task to deliver supplies and ammunitions to the French army, the patrol suddenly fell under the attack of Mexican republican forces, outnumbered the captain chose to make a stand, at la hacienda Camaron (Camaron de tejada, Veracruz).

French forces fought, as Mexican forces kept on gathering; the other two officers feeling overwhelmed by the Mexicans told Captain Donjou that the best option was to surrender, and the Capt. Replied, we have ammunitions “we will not surrender”, and told the legionnaires they will fight to their last breath, a fate the soldiers bravely accepted, at the afternoon only five legionnaires where standing, they were out of ammunition and desperately charged with bayonets to their opponents, 3 of them died, and the survivors were ordered to surrender by the colonel Francisco de Paula Milan granting them the honor, to leave with their guns and to escort Captain Donjou’s body, proposal the legionnaires accepted.

Donjou, had lost his left hand on an expedition, so he used a wooden hand, which remained on the battlefield, later, when they went to bury the remaining bodies, the wooden hand was found, and sent to France, Nowadays this item represents all legionnaires model to follow, and this battle is known as a reminder that tells them “never surrender” Some may say legionnaires give their life for the country of France, others may say, they die for the glory of the legion .

Jose Carlos Rosas I am pretty sure we only know the common car brands such as Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Chevrolet, Seat, Toyota, etc. This is because these brands are the ones which sell more cars worldwide. Not all the cars have powerful engines to get further than 240km/h, it all depends on the weight and the horsepower.

Speed! Who doesn’t like speed? It makes your adrenaline go to the top. Speed makes you feel euphoric and has you want more. That’s why this company start making cars with powerful engines and dynamic designs for the owners to have it all. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Saleen are well known for their fast and awesome designs. But they don’t have the fastest car on earth! Bugatti does; this French car company has made an incredible car named Veyron. This car is so fast that its top speed is 431.072 km/h. Although the computer’s car limits it to 415,07 km/h to protect the tires.

This speed reached the Guinness Record as the fastest car ever made. It defeated in the super sport car category: Jaguar XJ220 , McLaren F1, Koenigsegg CCR and the Shelby SSC Ultimate Aero TT. All thanks to its outstanding aerodynamic design and gigantic and powerful engine. In case you want to know more and see the huge difference between Veyron and the average car, we will compare them. For example, the Nissan Altima 2006 has a 4 cylinder 2.5 lt. engine, 4 gears without including reverse , 0-100 in 6.5 seconds, it has 175 horsepower, and a front wheel traction, also the engine is found in the front part of the car.

The Veyron has a 16 cylinder 8 lt. engine, 7 gears without including reverse, engine in the rear part of the car. It reaches a hundred kmph in 2.5 seconds; It has 1001 hp, with 10 radiators and 4 wheel traction. Its engine represents twice a v8, that’s why it is called w16.You may ask yourself how this car can reach so much speed, well everything is about aerodynamic. If you see the car in every detail you would see that its distance from the ground to the body is pretty small because this makes the air pass through easier. When the car reaches certain speed and the driver wants more, he has to activate a key that makes the car shorter in what the ground-car distance refers, and the spoiler turns smaller.

Article du journal Le Monde Four ou yaourtière, pots individuels ou grand pot format familial, la seule condition indispensable pour faire des yaourts, c’est d’avoir du temps… * Portez votre lait à ébullition et laissez le bouillir 3 minutes s’il n’est pas stérilisé. Choisissez de préférence du lait frais et vérifiez sa date de péremption, et préférez le lait entier au lait écrémé. Laissez-le ensuite refroidir pour l’amener à une température de 45°C. * Prenez des ferments achetés en pharmacie ou plus simplement, un yaourt du commerce ou un yaourt de votre ancienne fournée. Comptez un demi yaourt pour 1 litre de lait. Mélangez intiment les ferments ou le yaourt avec votre lait à 45 °C (pas plus chaud sinon les ferments seront inefficaces !) et placez vos pots dans la yaourtière qui maintiendra la température de 40°C à 50°C. Sans yaourtière, vous pouvez vous servir de votre four (un bain-marie maintenu à la bonne température), d’une cocotte minute, d’un cuit-vapeur ou de tout autre procédé qui permet une cuisson à l’étuvée et à température constante. * Laissez ensuite votre yaourt prendre, entre 6 et 12 heures, en fonction des ingrédients (si le lait est écrémé, il sera plus long à fermenter), des ferments et de la température. Si vos yaourts ne prennent pas, mettez plus de ferments ou ajoutez à votre mélange du lait en poudre. Placez ensuite le ou les pots au réfrigérateur pour les servir frais.

Après plusieurs essais, vous saurez quel yaourt vous convient, avec quel lait, et quel temps exact de fermentation vous donnera l’acidité et la fermeté idéales. Alors vous pourrez expérimenter les yaourts aromatisés ! Vous pourrez laisser infuser votre lait avec une gousse de vanille, de la menthe ou du caramel, ajouter du sucre après ébullition (pour éviter qu’il ne caramélise), du citron en même temps que les ferments.

N’oubliez pas que le yaourt entre dans la préparation de nombreux plats et sauces, et s’il ne vous plaît pas en tant que tel, vous trouverez normalement toujours un usage en cuisine. S’il n’a pas bien pris, faites-en un smoothie !
