my name is Sari Ayazbay, I am 21, from Almaty, Kazakhstan.

i think i have such a deep inner world in me that i still am in the process of discovering. but i know for sure i have so much love to give to this world, i cannot wait to start.

with everything i create, i grow, i learn, i feel, i discover more about myself, what i like, what i despise, what material i like using more or love someone. and by doing more and more ive realized how wonderful life is and how important it is to enjoy the feeling of it and its journey, so i do the same for my projects:)

i paint my art with my soul and my hands as brushes. carefully, lovingly.

kagaz lamp

life in your living room

kagaz lamp is a result of love to nature. Made completely handmade from scratch, its goal is to bring a breath of fresh air into anyones home.

- ART N01- SARI AYAZBAY -

this lamp was born one night when i missed my homeland a little more than ever. Ive missed the feeling of going out of my house barefoot and running between hundreds of trees; the smell of it, the sense of it. living in an apartment now, surrounded only by metals and cement, I wanted to recreate this high i crave so much. so i went on a road trip, handpicked some eucaliptus and made this lamp. this lamp is alive, you can feel it.

handmade aluminum net materials

Everything in this floor lamp is made by hand from scratch. The only material of the lampshade is handmade organic paper with tiny little pieces of branches and flowers like eucalyptus and lavender. I wanted to give the most sense of a living plant to the lamp that you can even smell the forrest.

The material of the lampshade was the main focus for me while designing it. It was very important to achieve the perfect shade and the perfect texture. It took a lot of experimentations, time and materials in order to achieve the outcome. However, it was all worth it - the mission was accomplished.

It was also very important to have as minimal and as materials as possible. The only materials that were used were aluminium and the handmade paper.

chai table traditions meets posterity

- ART N02- SARI AYAZBAY -

Chai (шaй [shái] - Kazakh, 茶 [chá] - Chinese) table is one of my favorite projects I have made in collaboration with Jiaxin Hong, my friend. It was created in a blend of different cultures of Asia, primarily Kazakh, Chinese and Japanese.

When it comes to all sacred and respected traditions in our cultures - its tea. In our culture, we drink tea sitting down on the floor, therefore, we have designed this specific form that would allow the user be comfortable, while sitting. Mainly focusing on a tradition, where you cannot drink your first cup of tea, but you throw it, we’ve decided to use this access water to grow life. Therefore, we made a hole in the middle of our table with a detached handmade ceramic vase that would have a beautiful ikebana.

This table was made with a pursuit of breaking the norm of having a lower table called coffee table, but instead we name it chai table - tea table.

making this table was a challenge due to our strong concept and its visualisation. however, after lots of tries and experimentations, we have decided on making a coated foam 1:5 protytype and a laser cut mdf 1:1 prototype.

I have carefully made the shape of the table with a use of a machine. however, due to its thin and very delicate shape, I mostly sanded it by hand.

the ceramic vase, is a handcrafted clay pot I made specifically for this 1:5 prototype.

the lasercut mdf strcuture is joined with a japanese wood joinery method called sashimono.

i have created ikebanas using flowers own branches, there was no additional acessories added. I believe that ikebana is one of the most beautiful ways to show how beautiful nature is. by giving the flowers and plants space you appreciate their beauty more.

brush strokes with light

in a 3 day lighting workshop in February 2023, we (Luca-Ion Popescu, Elizaveta Loseva, Natalia Strelnikoa and me) have made this lighting installation as a final project. We really wanted everyone to see the beauty of both light and shadow.

we were lucky to be able to play with light enough because it took us many tries and redos to achieve the outcome that made us all fall in love with all colors and rays with each sight. The straight light faces the circle shaped mirror and the fragments of a mirror inside a water container resulting a beautiful rainbow and white rays on a white canvas. It was important for us to present light as an art form and I believe we were able to achieve it.

a cold light source have made a colorful painting on a canvas. this is was we wanted to achieve - to do something vibrant and mesmerizing.

this installation makes anyone look at it and find its own meaning, thats why i love it so much. personally, it reminds me of sea, it reminds of the ocean splashing onto a high cliff. it also reminds me of sirens - hypnotizing movement of the light.

where little riders conquer big adventures

Introducing Stanks Motocross Motorcycle by Lego, the ultimate off-road thrill for young riders aged 7-12. Immerse yourself in the excitement of motocross racing with this uniquely designed motorcycle by Stanks.

- ART N04- SARI AYAZBAY -

Stacks motocross motorcycle is a prod- uct that was made by Gianfranco Alvigi- ni, Pol Carbanell and Sari Ayazbay. With the designers love to Lego, they come to realize that they want to do a project that is fun, encouraging and would surprise people.

This project was created in mind of their little kid selves. they would ask themselves - would I love this when I was 9?

PS. Yes, I definetely would.

Making a product for kids aged 7-12, makes you think a lot about their safety. When making a deep target analysis, I realized that I have to empathize with the kids parents. For example, if my child is on an off-road terrains, I would need to be reassured about my kid’s well-being. so thats how we came up with an idea to make additional products that are helmet, drone and an app. In the app, you could see the motorcycle and your kid through your drone, film and have fun with it! Also you can see the location of your chiild and the drone. It tells you everything you need to know about the Stanks products - the motocycle condition, your helmet and your drone (its battery, health, etc). Also you could access to your album of all the films you have created off-road!

since lego is one of the most known brands, and known for its very clear and iconic identity, i created these visuals that we could put as advertisings and promotional screens in lego stores.

it is bold, it is dangerous, it is very motoross, yet very lego.

as well as the infographics poster, that really captures the identity of lego very well. the exploded view is something that seemed fun, creative and yet again very lego.

this concept project was one of the most fun projects i have done so far, due to the fact that it is very new to me. as you may notice, it is not really my style, however, my teammates now turned into my friends and we had a lot of fun creating something that we as kids would love. i believe it was very crucial for me to try something that is so not “sari” and it opened many doors for me, including friends, skills, communcative skills, strategy thinking skills and even learning how to sell a project.
