6ª EDICIÓN DEL JUNIOR ADVISORY BOARD IE UNIVERSITY HOSTS THE 6TH JUNIOR ADVISORY BOARD Del 7 al 10 de abril, IE University acogió la 6ª edición del Junior Advisory Board, un comité integrado por 16 estudiantes internacionales preuniversitarios que se reúnen en Segovia y Madrid, con el fin de hacer propuestas que mejoren la educación universitaria. Los estudiantes procedían de Bélgica, Eslovenia, Reino Unido, Líbano, Colombia, Australia, Suiza, Jordania, Perú, Japón, Turquía, Brasil, Suazilandia, India, Singapur y España. Los jóvenes fueron seleccionados en más de un centenar de colegios de África, América, Asia y Europa por su talento en varias disciplinas a través de las oficinas internacionales que IE mantiene en todo el mundo. El dominio de varias lenguas, un perfil académico sobresaliente y su capacidad de liderazgo son algunas de las cualidades que estos estudiantes tienen en común. Son jóvenes internacionales, prácticos, ambiciosos, y sobre todo, representan a una generación que, gracias a su compromiso con la excelencia, la innovación, los valores humanos, y la ética, no solo cambiarán IE University sino también el mundo. Su opinión sobre la situación de la educación en un mercado cada vez más globalizado es importante para los responsables universitarios, que tomaron nota de sus inquietudes con el fin de mejorar y adaptar la educación superior a las necesidades de los futuros estudiantes. Durante su estancia en España, los jóvenes preuniversitarios participaron en diversos talleres y clases impartidas por reconocidos expertos y profesores de
IE, además de realizar actividades de ocio para conocer la cultura española y distintas excursiones por las ciudades de Segovia y Madrid. El Junior Advisory Board refuerza el compromiso de IE por promover la innovación, las humanidades y el carácter internacional en la formación superior. Finalmente, los estudiantes presentaron un informe de conclusiones sobre el panorama de la educación, resaltando aquellos aspectos que se deben de cambiar con el fin de que la universidad se adapte a sus necesidades e inquietudes. From April 7 to10, IE University hosted the sixth edition of the Junior Advisory Board, an international students’ committee that met in Segovia and Madrid to try and improve on their proposals for higher education. The students came from as far afield as Belgium, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Lebanon, Colombia, Australia, Switzerland, Jordan, Peru, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, Swaziland, India, Singapore and Spain. The participants were chosen by the international offices of IE for their abilities in different disciplines and come from over 100 schools in Africa, America, Asia and Europe. A knowledge of diverse languages, an outstanding academic profile and their leadership talents are some of the qualities they have in common. They are young practical students with ambition and they represent a generation that, thanks to their commitment to
excellence, innovation, and a humanitarian and ethical outlook, will not only change IE University, but also the world. University managers should take on board their concerns and views on the higher education market in an increasingly globalized world in order to improve and adapt higher education to the needs of future students. These young high-school students took part in different workshops and classes given by renowned experts and IE professors, During their time in Spain they were treated to cultural excursions and leisure activities to familiarize them with Spanish culture, visiting places such as Segovia and Madrid. The Junior Advisory Board reinforces IE’s commitment to innovation, humanities and the international nature of higher education. Finally, a report was presented by the students showing the conclusions they reached concerning the education panorama, highlighting those points that universities need to change in order to address the needs and concerns of young people .

El equipo formado por los alumnos de IE University Stefan Wolf Staertzel, Victor Berthon, Pablo Otero y Carlos Beltrán se clasificó, el pasado mes de marzo, dentro del TOP 4 de la final regional de Dubái del prestigioso Premio Hult, la mayor competición para estudiantes con proyectos emprendedores con un fin benéfico, y dotado con un premio de un millón de dólares.

won a spot among the top 4 in the regional finals of the prestigious Hult Prize. With prize money to the tune of a million dollars it is the planet’s biggest student competition in the field of social entrepreneurship. IE students were the only undergraduates competing against more experienced candidates with PhDs, MBAs and a range of master degrees. They were also the only students under 22 years of age in a final round in which the average age was 30. The Hult Prize, which received a record number of more than 10,000 firstround applicants, was created by Hult and Clinton Global Initiative to boost the development of social start-ups in the healthcare industry.
