During their investigations, Mulder, the “believer,” and Scully, the “skeptic,” delved into the occult, religion, urban legends, conspiracy theories, UFOs, alien abductions, and genetic engineering. This book will present Kirby’s art in a new and unprecedented way, as side-by-side examples of his work, both in PENCIL and INK! Three Key first issues are showcased: The Demon #1, Kamandi #1 and Omac #1, along with a number of additional pieces presented. RIP KIRBY, VOL. 9 writer John Prentice artist Fred Dickenson John Prentice won the National Cartoonists Society award for “Best Story Strip Cartoonist” in 1967, proving that the adventure strip could still capture the public’s imagination. Similarly, Rip Kirby, that debonair gentleman detective, proved that style and class still counted among the sexy jet-set. In these nine complete stories, Rip must prevent Mr. Monarch from selling a super-secret missile defense system to the highest bidder, tries to keep “The Shark” from stealing nearly a quarter million dollars, is hired to protect a gorgeous movie star from kidnapping, and in a bizarre twist, faithful Desmond is hypnotized into reverting to his former occupation as safecracker, with Rip as his victim. The strips are reproduced from the original King Features Syndicate proofs, insuring that every daily will look even better than when it was first published in newspapers over fifty years ago. Containing more than 800 sequential comics from July 10, 1967 to April 25, 1970! HC • BW • 288 pages • $49.99 11” x 10” • ISBN: 978-1-63140-754-3

The Chillling Archives of Horror Comics first gave the world the book Zombies! Now, by popular dead-mand we present more neverbefore-assembled terrifying tales of the walking dead! Dug from graves, these are grisly, gory, gruesome PreCode comic book stories that rotted kids’ minds in the ’50s and were condemned by the Senate! The most deft and depraved artists of the time serve up these spine-chilling horrors! Read “An Army of Walking Dead,” “The Zombie Disciple,” “The Fleshless Ones,” and “Dial C for Corpse,”! If you dare devour, “The Corpse That Prowled by Night,” “The Dead are Never Lonely,” “Born in the Grave,” “Zombie Vengence,” and much morbid more.

RED BARRY: UNDERCOVER MAN, VOL. 1 Red Barry was one of the most visually innovative adventure strips of the mid-1930s, combining fluid brushwork and noir shadows (in bold blues and purples) with figures that were constantly in motion, plus a level of violence that brought cries of protest from its syndicate. Red Barry and Secret Agent X-9 were King Features’ answers to the Tribune Syndicate’s popular Dick Tracy by Chester Gould. While X-9 continued for decades under hands of various quality, Red Barry by Will Gould (no relation to Chester) was an auteur’s vision that lasted less than four years (primarily because Gould couldn’t meet his deadlines). Regardless, it is today considered one of comics history’s great unsung masterpieces, one which famed mystery writer Anthony Boucher said was “the only detective strip…worthy of any consideration from my scholarly viewpoint.” This two-volume series will reprint the complete dailies and color Sundays.
