When their first coffee-shop date in high school ended up lasting six hours, Rosemary and Joe knew they had a connection. They parted ways for college, but reconnected and made it work long distance while in grad school—Joe at Villanova for biology and Rosemary at Cornell for engineering. Upon graduation, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia, and that's where Joe proposed. He planned a trip to hike at Amicalola Falls (the tallest waterfall in the southeastern U.S.) in northern Georgia. While hiking with their dog, Shane, they stopped at a secluded spot and Joe proposed. They enjoyed a picnic at the top of the waterfall before heading over to Cartecay Vineyards to celebrate. For their wedding reception, the rustic elegance of Folino Estate was a perfect fit for these wineloving Italians, accentuated with olive branches to match those that Rosemary had created on her invitations with her grandmother's paints. She also displayed a veil that has been worn by women in her family since the 1800s. The color of Rosemary's sapphire engagement ring matched the bridesmaids' dresses. Rosemary's younger sister, Elise, was her maid of honor and one of Joe's best friends, Mat, was his best man. A standout moment was when the band played the tarantella, a dance traditional at Italian weddings, and everyone participated. Guests spent a good part of the reception in the outdoor area overlooking the vineyards as the sun set over the vines.

Angelo and Shailene were introduced by mutual friends at a local bar, locking eyes that night seven years ago and never looking back. Two weeks after meeting, Angelo took her to Las Vegas for her birthday. Friends and family thought she was nuts going with a stranger, but they had a bond no one understood. Angelo proposed on Thanksgiving Day right before dinner. It was their first year hosting Thanksgiving at their new home, and Angelo decided to make a toast and thank everyone for coming. Suddenly, he was kneeling in front of Shailene with the most beautiful ring in the presence of all of their equally surprised family and friends. Every year, Angelo and Shailene go to Bear Creek Mountain Resort for Valentine's Day, so it was only right to celebrate their special day there. Every hour, from the moment Shailene awoke to their wedding at 5 p.m., Angelo sent a wedding gift up to her room. From the beautiful ceremony outside to the perfect indoor reception, their day was filled with so much joy. The best part about the day was being able to channel Shailene’s grandmother from her hospital room, whose battle with pancreatic cancer prevented her from attending. It was a beautiful weekend filled with laughter and tears.

Matt and Emily met in college, bonding over sci-fi and bad jokes while working together on the newspaper and humor magazine. For their sixth anniversary, they visited Cooperstown, New York for the second time. Instead of enjoying the Baseball Hall of Fame again, they opted for relaxation on the local lake. On their last night, they set out to the dock to see the Blood Moon. The night was black, cold and cloudy. Eventually, a moon as red as crimson peeked out from behind the clouds. That's when Matt decided to propose. Emily cried so hard she barely heard what he was saying, and just like some clichĂŠd romantic comedy, she also forgot to say yes. With family coming from New Jersey, New York and even Florida, they were so happy to have a wedding in the Lehigh Valley that showcased the place they've chosen to make their home. A small reception of 70 guests was held in the Hotel Bethlehem's Mural Ballroom. Matt and Emily loved the history and opulence, affectionately calling the space a cross between The Shining and The Great Gatsby. The hotel and vendors really worked with them to incorporate their DIY elements. Guests had a wonderful time and enjoyed the area. Irish relatives brought the after-party to McCarthy's Red Stag Pub, and the next day, Matt and Emily treated some guests to the Blast Furnace Blues Festival at SteelStacks (where Emily works), while others hit up the Sands Casino.

Tara and Mike met through a mutual friend after obliviously crossing paths on several occasions. Mike proposed in Glacier National Park, Montana, in July of 2016, after the two had reached the top of Logan Pass, an elevation of 6,646 feet. Mike asked a stranger to take a picture of them with the background of Bearhat Mountain, and then surprised Tara by taking a knee. Mike being a graphic designer and Tara being an event coordinator, their vision for a nontraditional wedding took shape and was full of thoughtful touches. It was a laid-back setting with a casual dress code and an unconventional entrance: Tara and her dad riding in on his Harley before walking down the aisle. Their friend Brendan officiated, using a script written by all three. Mike branded the wedding with a mountainthemed logo and custom stationery and signage, and their dog, Patty, had the honor of a signature cocktail in his name. The ladies' bouquets were made of homegrown wildflowers and the tables decorated with locust branches cut by Tara's father. Guests feasted on cheesesteaks and pulled pork sliders for dinner, and an ice cream sundae station for dessert, supplemented by kiffles from a family recipe made by Tara's great-aunts. Each guest received a wand to wave after the ceremony, and shared the event on social media with the hashtag #mikeandtarawedtheirpants and a designated Snapchat filter.

Jill and Jason met at a DeSales University Homecoming event in 2008, playing beer pong in the parking lot. A few years and Facebook messages later, they were in a relationship. When Jason made the uncharacteristic gesture of a reservation at Melt on Jill's 29 th birthday, she knew an engagement was coming. After an amazing dinner, he took her to the third-floor rooftop lounge, pulled the ring box out of his jacket, and asked, "Will you continue this journey with me?" He was so nervous he didn't even open the box, but the servers swooped in with champagne and dessert as soon as Jill said yes. Their wedding reflected their personalities: unique, fun-loving, laid-back elegance. They chose The Hamilton Kitchen and Bar because it was exactly their style and focused on their two favorite things: great food and great bourbon! The bourbon motif played throughout the wedding, including a stellar bourbon tasting and empty bottles and on-the-rocks glasses as part of the centerpieces. From the fashion to the ceremony to the reception, Jill and Jason bucked tradition, and not just for the sake of it. Their unique plan incorporated Polish and Catholic customs, and they walked in together. Along with the ceremony, highlights included their First Look and Jill’s sister's matron of honor speech. Their first dance on The Hamilton's patio during cocktail hour in the middle of Downtown Allentown offered a chance to breathe and take in the moment before the party really started.

Sam and Melissa met at Springfield College in Massachusetts. Melissa grew up Jewish, so her house was never decorated in the traditional Christmas dÊcor. Sam's family, on the other hand, had a house full of lights, a tree and Santa Claus everywhere. Living together, Sam was pretty bummed that their house had no lights, no Santa, no tree. So, on December 13, 2015, Melissa arranged for Sam to go on a run while she turned the house into a Christmas wonderland. When Sam got home, she was greeted with a fire, Christmas lights and a live reindeer (their dog, Stella, with antlers). Tears ran down her face, even before she knew what else was to come. She said yes. On the day of the wedding, Melissa got ready at her parents’ house and Sam got ready at the Hyatt. The two met at Burnside Plantation for their First Look. They took First Look photos at the far end of the property, in the grass by the tree line, then waited with their bridal party in the barn for their guests to arrive. The ceremony took place in the upper meadow. Melissa and Sam were married under a birch chuppah, built by Sam's father. The cocktail hour took place between the barn and the corn crib, and the reception was under a tent in the lower meadow. Guests danced, played corn hole and Life-Size Jenga and had an amazing time. The day was perfect!

For years, Kait and Joe hung in the same crowd with many mutual friends without crossing paths. When Kait lived in Philadelphia, friends finally visited, bringing Joe along. The two met at Love Park and became instant friends. One night when Kait was finally single, the two were walking to Pat's Cheesesteaks and Joe told her he was going to marry her, explaining exactly how he was going to propose: someday, as Jack White sang “their song,” “Hotel Yorba.” It was years later that Jack White headlined their favorite festival, Bonnaroo. Joe had a customdesigned ring in his pocket, made from rubies from his mother and his grandmother's engagement diamond, with the Bonnaroo symbol in the center. It hadn’t been a sure thing, but Jack White did break into “Hotel Yorba” and Joe made his proposal. They were married by Kait's aunt under a beautiful full autumn moon on a pristine organic farm in the rolling farmland near their home, making use of nearly every acre of apple orchard, Japanese medicinal garden, tree grove, farm houses and barn. Joe and Kait planned and organized every detail, purchased all their decoration second hand at flea markets and were introduced with a string quartet version of “Hotel Yorba.” The bridesmaids' tartan plaid was custom made and designed by Johanna Forta of Mertztown. Their wedding featured two live bands, a mini taco bar and specialty autumn cocktails. A handmade family tree of framed photos brought loved ones past and present to the event.

Matt and Courtney met at the Rail Jam snowboarding event in Easton, and Matt would later propose on the snowy anniversary of their first date. With roads covered in snow, they hiked up to South Mountain, snowboarded down and then took a cross-country ski around town. When they decided to make a snow woman, Matt insisted they dress it like Courtney. He stepped back and said, "If this is you, it's still missing one thing." He started to put a ring on the snow woman, turned and said, "Just kidding, this is for you." A very sappy speech followed, and snowflakes and tears graced their faces as they giggled in the yard. They were married by the water at Lake Naomi Clubhouse in the Poconos, with cozy blankets and apple cider on a perfect October day. The sky was blue, the trees fiery and the air crisp. Matt canoed to the ceremony site with his best man. Matt and Courtney's one surviving grandparent was honored with the duty of Flower Gram, and a friend officiated the ceremony they wrote themselves. Cocktail hour was held on the dock overlooking the lake. As the sun set, everyone moved into the dining room for a buffet that included a mashed potato bar. Dancing kicked off with a first dance, Flaming Lips' "Do You Realize," and the couple performed a routine to "Pennsylvania Polka.� The night was spent eating cupcakes, taking photo-booth pictures, drinking and enjoying the company of loved ones.
