Fueled with determination and a passion for science, a bright young girl builds a rocket ship to the moon to prove the existence of a legendary Moon Goddess. There she ends up on an unexpected quest, and discovers a whimsical land of fantastical creatures. Directed by animation legend Glen Keane, and produced by Gennie Rim and Peilin Chou, Over the Moon is an exhilarating musical adventure about moving forward, embracing the unexpected, and the power of imagination. Across numerous Asian cultures, the 15th day of the 8th month of the Lunar calendar — when the moon shines at its fullest and brightest — marks a day of celebration and the gathering together of families and friends over a shared meal. Though each culture has its own set of accompanying traditions and stories surrounding this holiday, OVER THE MOON takes its inspiration from the Chinese celebration known as the Autumn Moon Festival (or the MidAutumn Festival), and the traditional legend of Chang’e, the moon goddess whose tale gave birth to the festival itself.

The Arabic/Egyptian version of the animated film Over the Moon features Egyptian singer Carmen Soliman with her interpretation of the song Rocket To The Moon. “I am thrilled to work with Netflix on this new project, representing Egypt and the MENA region. We’re currently witnessing great interest from Netflix to produce and avail Egyptian and Arabic dubbed content that is suitable for family viewing. I have always been eager to participate in a special movie like “Over The Moon” by legendary animation creator “Glen Keane”. I can’t wait to watch this movie with my family and enjoy Fei Fei’s exciting journey to accomplish the impossible,” commented Carmen Soliman.

Directed by Disney legend and Oscar winner Glen Keane (“Dear Basketball”), the eye-popping animated musical reworks the ancient Chinese Moon Goddess fable as an “Oz”-like fantasy. A 38-year veteran of Walt Disney Feature Animation, Glen Keane trained under Walt Disney’s Nine Old Men. Keane went on to create many beloved Disney characters such as The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Beast, Tarzan, and Rapunzel. In 2012, Keane departed Disney to begin Glen Keane Productions as a way to further his artistic explorations in animation, design, and film. He has since gone on to collaborate with Google, the Paris Ballet, and Kobe Bryant. His most recent project is the Academy Award-winning animated film Dear Basketball, which he animated and directed in collaboration with legends Kobe Bryant and John Williams. He is currently directing OVER THE MOON, an animated feature, a co-production with Pearl Studio and

Netflix, due to be released in 2020. “Over The Moon” movie will be available on Netflix in both Egyptian dubbing and Arabic dubbing by Oscar winning filmmaker and animation creator, Glen Keane on October 23rd. October 2020 11
