OPERATIONAL OVERVIEW

OPERATION INFO, CON’T

The User of this application will need to be able to do the following, with ease:

Third, (3*). As the User we need an easy way to manage the email database AND the badge information together.

This database, which we would like scripted so we can use Exel (but again if its cheaper and easier to just upload the data to the server through mySQL, let’s do that), should be shareable across many users. For example, we will probably have two or three people actively uploading the data.

It would be best if we could manage this data both on the server and also on the local computer desktop in Exel.

First, the development of a database in mySQL that can transferred or uploaded to the server from EXEL (it can be that the data is only accessed and uploaded to the server, but we would prefer an upload from EXEL).

That database must be able to hold ALL of the information noted in (1*), including several graphics, which will require additional image boxes, as pictured.

Once that database is complete the next step in this application is to “connect or call out” the HTML template noted in (2*) and then be able to combine the files, and email it in Interspire to the respective or individual show attendee.

The show attendee must be able to do the following once they receive the email campaign.

First, they should be able to print ONLY the show badge (1*) but they should also be able to print the entire HTML template with all of the ads on it.

Second, they should be able to do a “save as” and save the file in a .PDF or other easy to use graphic file on the local desktop computer.

OPERATIONAL INFO Let’s take each section--(1*); (2*); (3*)--and discuss how they will interact.

First, (1*). There are approximately 7-10 lines of information limited by the size of the trade show badge, 300 pixels wide by 400 pixels wide, that must be included. There must be a provision for image boxes that will print out as part of the show badge noted above. The ultimate goal of (1*) is to print out a usable trade show badge once the recipient receives it via email. It should not take long to load or print the complete information.

Second, (2*). This is a section where show exhibitors will advertise their company. The image boxes are roughly 153 pixels wide by 192 pixels long. They must be allowed to assemble on the HTML doc easily and in any order that is required, including reshuffling them after the template has been filled by the ads. The ads, once assembled, will finally convert into an HTML doc or template sized 612 pixels wide

GENERAL INFO The ultimate goal of this application is to sell as many ads on the HTML template as possible combining it with the Show Attendee Badge and being able to email it out via Interspire. There will be many ads on this template and must include the Trade Show Badge database info simultaneously displayed and with HTML links available. These ads (3*) must be easily edited in and out of the template.

The input files for the ads in (3*) must be in the file format of .png, jpeg, or a gif-embedded HTML’s whose ultimate purpose is to be sent out via email. No PDF or other doc types are allowed (the reason is PDF’s are generally too big and download very slowly; plus they often are perceived as spam/could contain malware since they are sent as an attachment).
