We strive for long term relationships with our suppliers, which we call “partners”

Guidelines for our partners have been developed as a complement to our Policy for Responsible Business Conduct.

We expect our partners and their subcontractors to work focused and systematically to comply with our guidelines, including our Code of Conduct, which cover basic requirements for human rights, labor rights, anti-corruption, animal welfare and the environment. These principles for responsible business conduct are based on UN and ILO conventions and provide minimum, not maximum standards. The relevant legal framework at the place of production shall be respected. Where national laws and regulations address the same subjects as these guidelines, the most stringent shall apply.

Our partners is obliged to provide us information on how due diligence assessments are carried out, and how negative consequences on basic human rights and decent working conditions are handled. This is in accordance with the information obligation in the Transparency Act [Åpenhetsloven]

IDÉ Group strive to have a sustainable business practice that respects people, society and the environment

The CEO is formally responsible for the work on due diligence assessments for sustainable business practices. The operational responsibility is divided between the sustainability management and the procurement department. The daily executive work lies with the procurement department, where category managers are responsible for suppliers (hereafter referred to as partners) in each category. The procurement department is in Norway, but works for all departments, in all countries.

The CSR manager has the operational responsibility for due diligence assessments and reports to the Nordic Purchasing Manager, whom in turn reports to the CEO for IDÉ Group. Reporting takes place via quarterly reports, that are approved by the Managing Director in Norway and CEO for IDÉ Group.

As a member of Ethical Trade Norway, we undertake to work actively with due diligence assessments for responsible business practices.

The foundation for this work is Ethical Trade Norway’s Declaration of Principles (code of conduct) which covers the areas decent work, human rights, environment/climate, anti-corruption and animal welfare. Due diligence assessments are a riskbased approach to respect and look after people, society and the environment, in our own business and throughout the supply chain.

Our EHN report is based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the OECD model for Due Diligence for Responsible Business Conduct.

The model has six steps that describe how companies can work for more responsible and sustainable business practice. However, being good at due diligence does not mean no negative impact on people, planet and the society. It means that the company is open and honest about challenges faced and shows how this is managed in the best possible way in collaboration with its stakeholders.
