Have you ever listened to a rap song only to be stumped by the lyrics at times? Like June Bugg Range Rover Casanova. Sometimes some rap tracks are done so fast that it can be hard to know what was said. Don't worry! You're not alone! This can happen all the time by rappers and MC's that, well, rap and MC so fast that it can be hard going knowing what it is they're saying. Sometimes, in most times in fact, the best and easiest way to work out the lyrics that are said by them is to just look up the songs lyrics online if they exist. Sometimes these lyrics are printed on the CD leaflet that comes with the CD if you have one. If not, then you might be able to find them online just searching the artist and song name. If you're a parent, you might want to know about the lyrics that are said in some songs by some artists. Some of it can seem fine but there might be some parts that aren't so fine. You may find something said within that rap song that you don't want your child hearing and listening to and being suggestive to if you know what I mean. That's the reason why most CD's that are sold by artists and music stores around the world that might be too suggestive come with a parental advisory label on them. If you have ever wondered why rap music is so controversial compared to many other forms of music, it is largely because of the lyrics to the songs. Many rap songs have parts that are blatantly sexual, violent, vulgar, or even threatening. Take the time to listen. You'll hear about drug use, sexual behavior, family issues, illegal activity, murder, greed, hatred and on and on. It can be very shocking. Artists generally claim that their songs are produced just for effect, but when you compare their music with their lives often it seems like they are writing from personal experience. Still, they will often claim that they have to be shocking if they want to sell rap music. They claim that a tame rapper is an unsuccessful rapper. Further, they will tell you that the music industry expects them to push the limits of acceptability in order to get more sales. It makes sense that record companies would encourage this. When you have a very controversial album, it will likely sell very well. Some people who wouldn't otherwise purchase it will get the album just to see what all of the controversy is over. I've said here that many rappers try to be extreme, and most rap music has questionable content in it.
