Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship Academy A DA L L A S IS D T R A NS FOR M AT ION S C HO OL People go to work every day to earn a living, but many of us also work to be a part of something bigger, better, newer, or more helpful than what existed before. At IDEA, students are awakened to the history, politics, economies, values and beliefs of different cultures for deep insight into what makes people who they are. They will grapple with global issues and will be challenged to use Design Thinking that draws on humanities for empathy; the arts and our NAF academies for idea generation and invention and the sciences for hypothesis creation, prototyping, testing, and reflection. Our students explore the Global Goals for Sustainable development, identify an area of passion, learn about Social entrepreneurship and how they can innovate for money and for a cause. They will launch mini ventures and pitch to authentic audiences for feedback. We work to prepare our innovators to launch an Impact Driven Business BEFORE they graduate. We prepare students for multiple paths to success that include Entrepreneurship, College, Military and Career.

The IDEA Experience INNOVATION, DESIGN, ENTREPRENEURSHIP ACADEMY (IDEA) is a Dallas ISD Transformation School.

These open-enrollment campuses in Dallas ISD were designed around an innovative instructional model. Transformation Schools aim to provide a best-fit education experience for every student. IDEA is a personalized learning campus using a three-prong approach: 1. Personalized Learning. Dallas ISD’s Personalized Learning schools tap into students’ strengths, needs and interests. Flexible learning environments and technology-rich classrooms create an individualized, best-fit educational experience tailored to your child.

IDEA also incorporates blended learning, project-based learning, experiential learning, service learning with real-world experience gained through mentorships and internships to round-out our academic experience.

2. Social Emotional Learning. IDEA seeks to develop the whole learner by supporting students' learning and growth through the development of self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making.

3. Social Entrepreneurship. At IDEA, we believe that students have the power to change the world. We use the 17 United Nations Sustainable goals in our teaching and learning model so that students learn to create business that address global challenges.

By finding their passion, purpose and developing empathy, students become Social Entrepreneurs, creating innovative businesses that exist for more than financial gain.

How to Apply For Neighborhood Residents Innovation Schools maintain their existing neighborhood attendance boundaries. All students living within the school’s attendance boundary are eligible to enroll.

For Transfer Applications Students living outside of an Innovation School’s attendance boundary may submit a transfer application to enroll.
