EMPLOYEE LONG SERVICE AWARDS
Thank you to the following members of staff for their commitment and loyalty to the organization:
35 YEARS’ SERVICE

Shaike Rozanski (VP Compliance—ICTS Europe) Many congratulations to Shaike who has marked 35 years of service to ICTS. The occasion was celebrated with a small get-together over lunch at our London HQ. Shaike started his career with ICTS as our Station Manager at London Gatwick Airport. He progressed to the role of Managing Director of ICTS UK & Ireland before moving across to the ICTS Europe Group where he currently heads the Compliance Team. We wish Shaike many more years of career satisfaction and we thank him for his dedication and contribution to ICTS over the years. Jose de Gouveia (London Gatwick Airport) “In 2002 I moved from South Africa to the UK and started working at Gatwick Airport for McDonalds. I had planned to be a bus driver, but joined ICTS instead. I have always worked in the Hold Baggage Screening department and have been a Supervisor for 7 years. I enjoy working for ICTS and I am proud to be a part of the ICTS family.” Teresa Guy (Edinburgh Airport) “Having started at Edinburgh with A.D.I and then Securicor in 2001, ICTS came along in 2002 and provided some much needed stability in private aviation security. I have stayed in the HBS department all my years but have seen the whole operation expand from one old ‘continental’ flight to many American carriers. And also a few other airlines in need of ICTS’ services.

15 YEARS’ SERVICE

Clifford Brown (London Gatwick Airport) “Before joining ICTS I was a crane driver and banksman. At ICTS, I have always worked in Hold Baggage Screening as a X-Ray operative and supported other airports during my time with ICTS. I am now a Screener and I am working on various projects. I will carry on working with ICTS for many years to come. I would like to say thank you to all for the support given.” Jed Marshall (Canine Security Services) “I joined ICTS in 2007 following a 32-year career in the Police Service. I was until June last year Divisional Director Canine Services but having reached state retirement age I tried to retire. I made this decision in the knowledge that I was leaving the department in the safe hands of my replacement, Andy Dodds. ICTS had other plans and persuaded me to move into a newly created role of Subject Matter Expert Canine on a part time basis. I am enjoying still being part of ICTS and in particular Canine Services as it moves from strength to strength. COLT

The Customer Service Star scheme runs alongside our Employee(s) of the Month/Year scheme. The scheme has been established to recognise those employees who deliver excellent customer service to such a level that a client or a member of the public takes the trouble to write/post a commendation about the service delivered. This scheme goes a small way to say thank you and recognises all those very important customer service interventions by many of our employees.
Employees are asked to email a copy of the feedback to our HR Team—hr@icts.co.uk.
THE EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER SCHEME
As of January this year, the Employee of the Month reward programme has changed to Employee of the Quarter. We will allow a maximum of 3 winners from our Aviation Division and 3 winners from the Corporate Division, with no minimum number of winners being required. Each winner will receive a sum of £/€500 as before. Should we not have a total of 6 winners in a quarter, the excess funding will be placed in a pot and will be allocated to the Employee of the Year’s charity of choice. We will continue to run the Employee of the Year reward programme and there will be no changes to this. Please note that nominations for Employee of the Quarter should only be in respect of employees who have gone above and beyond their daily duties. We are looking for employees who have done something exceptional that is worthy of recognition. Nominations should also be limited to those staff below the level of Site/Station Manager.

EMPLOYEES OF THE 2nd QUARTER
FROM OUR AVIATION DIVISION: AVRIL SPARK, MARGARET PEEBLES AND GERARD O’REILLY

Congratulations to our EoQs from Aviation: Avril Spark and Margaret Peebles from Aberdeen Airport and Gerard (Gerry) O’Reilly from Dublin Airport.

Avril and Margaret tried their best to assist and comfort a passenger who had had a seizure within the Central Search area of Aberdeen Airport. Both Officers stayed with the passenger throughout his ordeal until the paramedics arrived and he was taken to hospital. Gerry prevented significant damage to an aircraft engine. Strong winds had blown a baggage cart towards the engine of an aircraft. Gerard raised the alarm and ran to intercept it, managing to reduce its speed. As a result of Gerry’s efforts, the engine only suffered minor damage and the aircraft was able to depart safely.
Avril -
“It really means a lot to me to have been nominated for Employee of the Quarter and even more to have been chosen! I knew I had to help this passenger out and feel that others would have done the same if it had happened any other time.”
All 2022 winner(s) of the Employee of the Quarter make up the shortlist for the Employee (s) of the Year 2022 award, who will receive £/€5,000 (gross) and a lapel pin.
Margaret -
“I would like to say thank you for the nomination and it is not something that I would have expected to receive. It feels good to be recognised and appreciated for something that I feel that any other person would have done given the circumstance.”
Gerry -
“Delighted to be selected for the award. I didn’t think too much of the incident at the time. I was just doing my job. I noticed the container coming towards the aircraft engine and my instinct was to prevent damage. My previous work involved aircraft engine maintenance and testing so I know how much trouble and damage this could have caused. I was just very happy to be in the right place at the right time and prevent any incident happening. I am delighted that I received the award, especially as it was from all UK and Ireland sites.”

EMPLOYEES OF THE 2nd QUARTER
FROM OUR CORPORATE DIVISION: BRIGIDA DIAS, RICHIE KALU AND MARK DEANEY

Congratulations to our EoQs from Corporate: Brigida Dias and Richie Kalu from Colt and Mark Deaney from Canine Security Services.
Brigida and Richie’s swift actions were instrumental in the prevention of a fire from spreading and causing severe damage. The alarm was immediately raised with the emergency services and the onsite engineering team. Ritchie went as far as to help the engineer onsite to locate a few fire extinguishers and extinguish most of the fire.

Mark provided first aid to an intoxicated male who had sustained a significant cut to the back of his head. He stayed with the injured man until he was brought to hospital.
Brigida -
“I was very amazed to be nominated initially and to win it, was even more shocking. I was just doing my job and trying my best every day. I am very pleased that our efforts have been recognised and appreciated. Thank you.”
Winner(s) of the Employee of the Quarter award will receive £/€500 (net) bonus and a lapel pin.
Richie -
“It is a great pleasure to be nominated for Employee of the Quarter. It is very important to express the value of knowledge from work and use it to help others around you. Thank you again and I wish to keep being a good employee here at ICTS.”

MEET ONE OF OUR EMPLOYEE RELATIONS HR BUSINESS PARTNERS

SABRINA CHOUDHURY
When did you join ICTS? I joined ICTS in October 2021. What do you enjoy most of your job? I enjoy building relationships with the managers that we have across the business and supporting them on some of their most challenging cases. What key attributes make someone successful in your role? Being adaptable is key, as the type of issues you deal with can vary day to day. It is also important to have resilience to deal with challenging situations. Lastly, optimism goes a long way in supporting your colleagues around you who may have had a tough day dealing with various issues. What is your favourite pastime? I enjoy spending time with my family and trying out new places to eat. What has been your greatest achievement? Being called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2018. If you weren’t a Human Resources specialist, what type of career would you choose? If I didn’t have a career in HR, I would have been an Events Planner. I love organising parties and events and watching as everyone comes together to celebrate. It’s always rewarding seeing everything come together after spending months planning an event.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
PAUL GRZEGORZEK’S EFFORTS RECOGNISED BY THE PM (AT THE TIME)
It is not every day that one is called a ‘Hero’ by the UK’s Prime Minister. Our Corporate Regional Manager, Paul Grzegorzek, met former PM, Boris Johnson on 26 August, whilst the PM was visiting Epsom and St. Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. Paul was praised for his voluntary work with the Road to Ukraine charity.

Read the full article on Paul’s fundraising efforts on page 25 of our June 2022 Newsletter.
ICTS SPONSORS ‘THE CAMDEN CLEAN AIR CYCLE RIDE’
We were pleased to sponsor The Camden Clean Air Cycle Ride which took place on Sunday 12 June 2022. The cycle ride around the Borough of Camden promoted the importance of air quality in a non-competitive and family-friendly way. As EcoVadis Silver Medal holders, ICTS UK & Ireland is determined to put people and planet first, improve our environmental impact and operate sustainably. We support our employees to make positive active travel decisions through subsidised bike ownership. This improves their health, saves them money, and helps to cut pollution. Rasheed Thazhathethil, Duty Manager at London Heathrow Airport (photo below) who participated in the event wrote, “The Camden Clean Air Cycle Ride
was such an exciting day for me. Mainly because it was the centre of London, and it was a fantastic feeling to ride without traffic and be surrounded by others on two wheels. I was planning to ride by myself, but then the Plotaroute app wasn't working on my phone well. Then I decided to join the first group, whose ride began at 10:00, and we finished by 13:20; everyone in the group loved the lead because he was such an experienced and knowledgeable man who knew all over the area. Thank you so much for a fantastic day, the day went so well, and the Camden clean air event organisation was well I sponsored, and the route signs and marshals were perfect; I would not hesitate to book other events." Camden Clean Air Limited contributed the following statement, “The ride was a huge success with over 280 people of all ages and abilities signed up, and the sun shone down on us all day! We also recognized that not all community members own a bike, but we didn’t want this to be a reason for them not to take part, so partnered with HumanForest to provide free use of their e-bikes. This was received positively with the community, with many members stating that they cannot wait to use an electric bike again. We can’t wait for next year’s event already as we get bigger and better.

We are so grateful to have received support from ICTS UK & Ireland to help cover our costs which in turn allowed us to have great community impact. It was amazing to see team members taking part in the ride itself which highlights their support for our message and the importance of improving air quality.”

CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH
Our ICTS Team at Epsom & St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust kicked off the summer with a charity football match on 18 June, organised to raise funds for both the charity Mind, and the St Helier Neonatal Unit. The opposition was Coop funeral care, who fielded an excellent team. They were also joined by Celebrity FC, who provided a number of celebrities and exsemi pro footballers on both sides! The day was held at the Tooting and Mitcham FC ground, and was well attended by the public, colleagues and families of both teams playing. ICTS was kind enough to donate a number of items, including a fabulous tombola prize of afternoon tea for 2 at the Ritz! ICTS’ uniform supplier, IOMA, also kindly donated full marked up kit for the ICTS team. Despite heavy rain on the day, the match went well with ICTS just being beaten by Coop at the end during penalties, with a final score of 4-3 to the Coop. £650 was raised for the charities, and planning has already started for next year’s match!

MANCHESTER AIRPORT ARMED FORCES FRIENDLY ORGANISATIONS NETWORK
Alan Richardson and Terry Beggington from our Team at Manchester Airport met with the Greater Manchester Police to discuss the Armed Forces Covenant. The Greater Manchester Police shared their Covenant journey and offered support to ICTS as we are keen to employ military and emergency service veterans.
The Greater Manchester Police and ICTS are the first two organisations in a ‘Manchester Airport Armed Forces Friendly Organisations’ network, a network that will hopefully grow over the coming months. The aim is to support each other with best practice on things like recruitment from the Armed Forces and supporting our own ex military staff who may be struggling and sharing experience and knowledge.
