MESSAGE FROM LEADERS
R LAKSHMI SARADA, DTM DIVISION E DIRECTOR
SONALI GHOSH PRESIDENT
My Dear Eves, It was an emotional moment for me personally when I took over as Division E Director My sheer strength and courage mainly come from my own Home Club, my dear Eves. A BIG salute to each and every Eve, who is always there with me to support. Congratulations to each one of you for the many awards and achievements which ICC Eves Club has bagged till date and my sincere gratitude to the ExCom members who are doing an amazing job. And I can say with pride that ICC Eves Club is the strongest Club under Division E
ICC Eves have always been an inspiration to the entire fraternity of toastmasters in Qatar in many ways. We have this rich legacy of producing amazing leaders and passionate speakers year after year. And I am sure we will have our members representation at DTAC this year too. The credit entirely goes to the hard-working members who always take that extra step to challenge and learn from the outcomes of every meeting. This itself should be an inspiration for the new members who have joined our club this year. The icing on the cake is the Open House Meeting which ICC Eves conducted with 20 plus guests attending the meeting. This speaks volumes of the quality meetings which the Excom plan diligently. This year having this extra challenge of FIFA, our Excom is utilizing the time in preparing the members for the upcoming contests and also training the new members to take up different club meeting roles. This clearly shows that WE stand united and work towards our common vision of achieving excellence ONE STEP at a time.
Best Wishes to all the Eves for the upcoming Contest Season
My dear Eves, The euphoria has set in and it still continues. Our second home Qatar hosted a world event, the FIFA World Cup successfully and all of us enjoyed the revelry. And in the midst of all of it , the Eves conducted offline meetings with various themes encouraging and indulging the new and old members for participation. The festival of lights, the New member Induction, the FIFA mania were some of the few highlights along with education modules to equip members for the upcoming contests in January 2023.
With a heavy heart we also bid farewell to a noble and dedicated soul on 31st October, Neshi Kumar, DTM , our Division E Director. We lost a great mentor and the loss is irreparable. But the show must go on, so we also welcome our member Lakshmi Sarada, DTM as the new Division E Director. We wish her all success!
It’s a privilege to lead a bunch of enthusiastic and beaming ladies of Qatar who are always brimming with confidence and working towards selfprogress I wish each member success in the club contests and henceforth and look forward to a great third term ahead!!

NEW MEMBER TESTIMONIALS
I attended the open house, hesitatingly, held at Crowne Plaza on 6th Sep, 2022. The theme of the day “burst the bubble” left me agog. Each role-player’s creative input fascinated me. The two keynotes definitely inspired me, so did the comfort and support provided by the eves. I felt I belonged here. And, I took the right decision, signed the form same evening. Today after presenting 1 icebreaker, I look forward to be a confident speaker and a better version of myself. I am grateful to my friend Sushma Harish for introducing me to this fraternity.
My name is Anita as I am beautician by profession. Many things happened in my life. But when I came to Qatar, I worked in a salon as beautician. After 2 years I opened my own salon. but it completely fell due to Covid 19 and at that time got so nervous. But I get positive vibes from my son and daughter. So it's my greatest experience in my life. If you think positive, you can do anything whatever you want do in your life. Few months ago I joined the toastmasters meeting. Since I am so scared to talk in English language in front of many people. I needed to overcome my fear. I get more positive energy and great confidence. I am so happy that I joined this toastmasters meeting.

As the saying goes, “First impression is the best impression”, My first TMI meeting was something similar. I had the chance to meet few bubbly, energetic, enthusiastic ladies; when I realized age should never be a barrier to follow your passion or learn something new rather than cribbing on the missed opportunities in life. At the first meeting, I watched silently when few of the ladies delivered their prepared speeches, volunteered for table topics without any hesitation. I admired their confidence on stage. I have always dreamt of becoming a confident speaker someday. And this first TMI meeting marked the beginning of my dream journey towards becoming a confident public speaker.
Aishwarya Muralidharan
My first Toastmasters meeting was on 6th of September 2022. It was an Open house meeting. The meeting hall was filled with Toastmasters and guests, and as my heart was filled with anxiety and tension. But the way the members of ICC Eves talked to me gave me a great relief and confidence. Since it was my first meeting, I had no idea what was going on, but still I enjoyed it. When each segment was going on, I just imagined the future me in the place of the speakers and role players. I gained a great hope that one day I can speak in front of everyone without nervousness and self-doubt and I would surely learn sincerity, punctuality and responsibility being a toastmaster. I look forward to my toastmaster’s journey!
I attended my First Toastmasters meeting as a Guest. I was super anxious and equally excited. In that meeting, I was called upon for an impromptu Speech. I felt my tongue-tied and froze. Helpless, anxious, and powerless before the audience. After the session ended, several club members approached me, including the club president. They spoke and encouraged me. They told me that it would get better in time, that I should come again and be a member, and that I had something special in me for standing up to my fears. My embarrassment that evening was over clouded by the positive aura of the Toastmasters. I felt better than I expected and a part of me was willing to try again. I am very happy and proud to mention that I was awarded for the Best Table Topic in my third Toastmasters Meeting. My Toastmasters journey up to this moment has been nothing but memorable.
Qatar Talks is known to be the talent hunt search for non-Toastmasters, as well as Toastmasters in Qatar. It has been happening for more than 10 years, but I stepped into this contest just this year.
My near and dear ones often sense my taste for humor. After flexing my humour muscles in the district level contest last year I was pushed by my friends in Qatar Talks.
I say pushed because presenting a Humour speech often is challenging. It depends heavily on the mood of the moment, sentiments of the people and many other random factors. There are no proven techniques to come out winner as a humor champion. After my participation in the Qatar talks finals, and not returning home with the trophy taught me one thing that is, the sheer fact about participation to be known as an important factor than winning.
I definitely won many hearts if not a trophy. I hereby urge all my Eves to keep participating, and build up the spirits. Winning, or losing becomes a part of the journey. Enjoy.

I am surprised with the Mascot Laeeb, the symbol, the slogans, the teaser, the fifa song, attractive Bilboards, free metro and bus services etc. I was so crazy to purchase the jerseys of various countries, wear them and go for the matches Not only that I am a small particle in this universe to contribute for this world famous football game Fifa 2022 is a lifetime opportunity, and I am lucky enough to be one among the 20,000 Volunteers. Right from filling the online application it was so thrilling. Being in Qatar for the past 22 years, it is my payback time for Qatar and to be a tiny assistance for the Host Country. I felt so proud to collect uniform, dress up and on time for the shifts. Within 10 days attended the intro session at DEC and where I played games ,spoke so enthusiastically and a child in raised up. I forgot my age and started enjoying I was chosen as a workforce volunteer First I booked 8hours of 10 shifts
I worked with my team leader and supervisors for 10 shifts It was an amazing experience to book the venue, arrange the venue for trainings, maintaining the attendance sheet, preparing certificates for the attendees gave me lot of confidence and I felt happy that my leisure hours are useful for someone and some good cause. Working with multinationals, dancing, dining, singing and taking photos with co-volunteers were really a lifetime experience. Other than shifts I got plenty of opportunities to prove and showcase my talent There were many opportunities like dance and singing with internationally famous Singers, Photoshoot with players,Hub session and received complimentary match tickets and a special event too I was fortunate to attend special event to interact with COSTARICA team players, played football with their team players and it was unforgettable movement to be on the Pitch with professionals.

THE STADIUM EXPERIENCE FOR THE EVES
FIFA World Cup could be a Foot Ball fan’s favorite around the world. At least for me, here in Qatar, it’s an emotion. In my 16 years of Doha life, the last decade that unfolded was the construction of the stadiums, constant digging and closure of roads randomly. Though it sounds unpleasant, we knew that it was all in the preparation of the big day. The big day is finally here, it’s getting over too. I did witness few matches as an experience. Moreover I watched our own Qatar team play their best. I screamed for my favorite player In a few stadiums, stood Qataris with scrumptious snacks, Karak and cardomom coffee. I told you, Fifa was a emotion, a festival, a vibe we residents are celebrating. Would suffice to say, pride magnifies each time I tell friends about how ther better host than Doha for FIFA!
We are the dreamers, and we make it happen!!
Our heartfelt gratitude to the Emir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Thani for giving us the best unforgettable World Cup fan moments and t well-organized World Cup with the best unique cohesive power that unit the world in a spirit of friendship, love and happiness. I believe there is always a treasure in our trials and if with gratitude w accept, there is always happiness and success that follows it. 2010 Qat won the bid and in 12 years the promise is fulfilled to the world amidst tra Salute to the rulers and the officials for giving us all the best World Cup enjoyed the World cup watching matches and hosting friends and fam around the world. The best moments for all were the electrifying match festivities around, fun-filled fan zones, entertainment, music and t beautiful stadiums and infrastructure.
FIFA World cup 2022 vibes were positive vibes of dreamers and achieve and together we weaved the success story.
Praises have been pouring in from all corners of the world on the outstanding success of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Personally, not surprised at it, as we living in Qatar have seen the sea of changes happening the past few years. I was amazed at the hospitality and the security measures provided, everything was so meticulously planned and executed! My heart swelled with pride as I witnessed the ‘Welcome to Qatar’ at the Corniche. This country has given us so much, felt overwhelmed with gratitude. A sports event of this magnitude has literally been brought to our door step….we are indeed fortunate and blessed! Three cheers to Qatar!
I was very lucky to witness the pre-quarters match of FIFA World Cup at the stadium 974. What an amazing game! Brazil vs Korea Republic. I was very excited to see my favourite player Neymar. The vibes at metro and stadium was awesome with all the Brazilian fans with their colourful attire and accessories, with whom I also clicked pictures. I am glad I could experience it all as the tag line says “ Now is all “

ICC Eves Gavel Club was brimming with exciting activities and events in the past three months! The jostling of young minds against each other has this wonderful attribute, that one can never foresee the spark, nor predict the flash. Many such sparks illuminated the club and enhanced its activities in the recent past.
Our new Excom took charge in the month of September with its dynamic members, President – Dhwani , VPPE – Dharsini , VPPR – Divneet, Secretary –Kavya ans Sgt@Arms – Rona. The club had an excellent term with its past Excom led by president Aaditya Nair, VPE Dhwani, VPPR Dharsini, Secretary Aadarsh and Sgt@arms Aysha. After an exuberant milestone meeting (150th) celebration, the club got back to business as normal with members enthusiastically presenting speeches and doing role plays. An enthusiastic bunch of newbie members added the much needed flavour and spiced up the meetings in general! The most recent ‘Hayaa Hayaa’ themed meeting on November 19th had the full fervor of Qatar 22’s FIFA mania with all members adorning their favourite team’s jerseys et al. It was delightful to see how our Eves Gaveliers brought accolades to the club from various prestigious events and contests conducted recently. Our enterprising gaveliers Aadarsh Nair was adjudged as Humorous speech contest champion and Divneet Kaur as First Runners up for international speech contest during ‘Qatar Talks’ conducted on October 28th 2022. In our District 116 Inter Gavel club contest our gaveliers Antara had won as First runners up in Evaluation speech contest and Aadarsh Nair had won as second runners up in Humorous speech category. As counsellor of ICC Eves Gavel Club I feel proud and honored to guide these effervescent youngsters as their energy is infectious and the learning from them is immense! As we continue our meetings with diverse themes, interesting role plays and innovative activities, I warmly invite my Eves Club members to come and be a part of the Gavel club meeting whenever time permits to partake and to soak in the flavor of it all! - Shanty Rose, DTM

Dear All ,
It gives me an immense pleasure to launch the Second edition of the ICC Eves Toastmasters Club Newsletter. I would like to thank each and every member who contributed for this newsletter even in their busy schedules.
This term the meetings were all filled with FIFA vibes. The Eves thoroughly enjoyed the football days and have shared their experience in this newsletter.
People say Football is the only sport where there’s no racism, where we learn to respect and understand team spirit. But for me Toastmasters is the only place where there’s no disparity, I always feel one among the equals here.
Flipping through the pages you would see the club's highlights, achievements, and activities. I thank the editorial Team for their valuable support for making this Newsletter a successful one.
