Banking on Service! By Rebekah Pectol From personal to business banking, Zions First National Bank offers a wide variety of financial services to its members. With 104 full-service branches throughout Utah, Zions Bank has become wellknown for their excellent customer service. But that isn’t the only service they have become known for as they continue “banking on service” …community service, that is! Throughout the years, Zions Bank has been an exceptional Corporate Partner of United Ways across the state and is recognized for their continuous service efforts provided to the communities they do business in. Every year Zions Bank participates in United Way’s annual Day of Caring volunteer projects, providing a statewide volunteer effort to help those in need and better our Utah communities. Locally, the seven Zions Bank branches within Washington County employs 85 staff members whom have shown the spirit of giving through United Way Dixie’s annual Day of Caring for over 15 years. As part of this event that promotes volunteerism, every year bank employees put on the white LIVE UNITED t-shirts and get to work doing various service projects for our local non-profit organizations in the St. George and surrounding areas. And boy do those bankers know how to get dirty! From yard clean-up and landscaping to painting and sorting large food boxes, the Zions Bank Day of Caring volunteer teams have done it all. “We have volume in our numbers of employees which gives us the ability to provide volunteer teams,” says Steve Vieira, Southern Utah’s Regional President of Zions Bank, when asked about the Day of Caring event. “The sort of employees we have are very caring. We are all members of this community, and we are grateful to have the opportunity to be part of giving back in an area we live.” In addition to service towards Day of Caring, Zions Bank hosts an annual “Paint-a-Thon” event where bank employees and their families team up to fully paint the exterior of homes for local families in need. “It’s one of the really fun things we get to do as a bank that includes the families of our employees and brings us all together to help those in need in our community,” Vieira says. But the service doesn’t stop there! You will also find bank employees volunteering
