here’s no denying that the 24 year old DJ and producer who shot to super stardom last year has become a household name, an extremely viable artist that visitors to the island love and scramble to see. That part is obvious. Track after track that’s prominent position in the charts are punched out on a scale ranging from from pop to rap to commercial dance to remixed disco classics in one big visually astounding package with all the pyrotechnics, beautiful dancers, acrobatics and raining love hearts that you would expect from Ushuaïa Club. Despite the fact that not one of these songs gets to play out in full and the drops that you would expect to blow the place apart often just disappear in place of the beginning of the next track, no-one seems to care. Whatever he plays – the crowd goes with it. Even before Avicii – real name Tim Bergling – makes his grand entrance around 10pm the music goes off for five minutes. The live, eclectic performance by Joachim Garraud - a blend of musical instruments and DJing - warms up the crowd with the same brand of electro house. After he fin-

o se puede negar que el DJ y productor de 24 años que llegó al estrellato el año pasado se haya convertido en un nombre familiar, un artista extremadamente viable al que adoran y luchan por ver los visitantes de la isla. Esa parte es obvia. Temazo tras temazo y éxitos en las listas que van desde el pop al rap, al dance comercial y a los clásicos disco remezclados, todo en un pack que incluye pirotecnia, increíbles bailarines, acrobacias y corazones que caen del cielo, como cabía esperar en Ushuaïa Club. A pesar de que ninguno de estos temas se pincharon en su totalidad y las gotas que se esperaban simplemente desaparecieron al comenzar el siguiente tema, a nadie parecía importarle. Sea lo que sea que pinche, a la gente le encanta. Incluso antes de que Avicii, su nombre real es Tim Bergling, hiciera su entrada triunfal hacia las 22.00h, la música se detuvo cinco minutos. La ecléctica actuación en directo de Joachim Garraud, una mezcla de DJ con instrumentos, animó y calentó los motores del público con el mismo tipo de electro house. Una vez que terminó, sólo quedaba un anticipo y numerosos móviles en el aire a la espera del gran artista que encabezaba el cartel.

Wie eine Rakete schoss der 24jährige DJ und Producer zu Beginn der Saison mit Hits wie “Wake me up”, “Sunshine” und natürlich “Levels” an die Spitze der Charts und damit auch an die Turntables der besten Clubs der Welt. Avicii ist ein Ausnahmetalent – und wer zunächst noch an ein One-Hit-Wonder glaube, wurde schnell eines Besseren belehrt. Jeder neue Hit eine Steigerung – der gebürtige Schwede scheint erst am Anfang seines kreativen Potenzials zu stehen. So war es auch kein Wunder, dass das Ushuaïa aus allen nähten platzte als es den smarten Stockholmer für dessen Closing als Headliner auf die Bühne brachte – und das war an diesem Abend sicherlich der einzige Ort, an dem überhaupt noch eine Stecknadel Platz gefunden hätte. Der Club präsentierte ihn noch einmal in voller Größe: eine grandiose Light-Show, sensationelle Pyrotechnik, eine Sturmflut aus herab schwebenden Herzen und die besten Tänzer der Insel sorgten für einen stimmungsvollen Rahmen.
