World’s leading modified wood continues success in 2014 2014 continues to progress from strength to strength for Accoya® following significant impacts in markets across Europe and the rest of the world. In the year to date, Europe‟s leading modified wood has been used for some of the most unique and advanced woodwork and construction projects across the globe. There are now Accoya distributors and agency agreements in place across Europe, demonstrating the growing demand for stable, durable and sustainable wood which can cope with the toughest of construction and joinery projects. Some of the latest highlights of Accoya‟s European success include the following projects and awards: All singing, all dancing Accoya for Denmark Accoya has got everyone on their feet in Copenhagen, where it has been used to create an outdoor dance floor in the city‟s popular Fælledparken Park. The dance floor, which has endured significant footfall and remains in excellent condition two years after installation, demonstrates Accoya‟s superior ability to withstand challenging external environments… Manufactured by Accsys Technologies and retailed by Solvay, Accoya is the gold standard of modified wood products on the market today. Created with sustainably-sourced softwood and using a proprietary process called acetylation, Accoya is a durable and stable product which matches the properties and qualities of tropical hardwood. Accoya brings balance to Europe’s leading garden show The International Garden Show at Chaumont-sur-Loire will this year feature a garden created from Accoya Deck, Accoya‟s consumer decking product. Architectural designer Hay Joung‟s design „The Balance‟ was one of only 26 garden chosen by a panel of leading experts from hundreds of entries this year. Hay chose to use Accoya for the garden due to its durability and aesthetics… Accoya Bridge Set to Span the Flow of Time Accoya, the world-leading modified wood manufactured by Accsys Technologies, has been used to create a unique “floating” bridge in the Dutch city of Bergen op Zoom. Completed earlier this year, the bridge spans Pielekenswater and its design was inspired by the work of Dutch military engineer Menno van Coehoorn, who built the 18 th century Revelijn op den Zoom fortress in the same location.
