THE EDITOR LETTER from

SPRING / SUMMER 2025

As the days grow longer and the light shifts to that golden, sun-kissed hue we all love, I find myself inspired by the vibrant energy that spring and summer bring into our homes and lives. It’s a season of renewal—of fresh starts, bold color, and breezy ease. And in the world of design, it’s the perfect time to embrace beauty that feels both elevated and effortless.

This issue of IBB at Home celebrates the art of indooroutdoor living. Drawing from the beauty of nature’s own palette, we’ve curated ideas and inspiration to help you make the most of every square foot—inside and out. You’ll find stunning model home tours, stylish seasonal tips from our designers, and a look at some of our favorite product launches and exclusive furnishings currently available in our showroom.

We’re also shining a light on the power of color this season. Whether it’s a whisper of coastal blue, the grounding calm of mossy green, or the cheerful punch of citrus tones, the right hues can completely transform the mood of a space—and make it feel uniquely yours. You’ll see how our team expertly layers tones and textures to create rooms that live as beautifully as they look.

At IBB Design, our mission has always been about more than just interiors. We believe in creating homes that elevate your everyday—where luxury meets livability and where every detail reflects the way you want to feel. Whether you’re hosting a summer soirée, escaping to your vacation home, or simply savoring slow mornings at home, our goal is to help you live beautifully, every day.

Thank you for inviting us into your lives and your homes. We’re honored to be your trusted partner in design.

Wishing you a season filled with sunshine, style, and the joy of inspired living.

Lovely Lilac Lovely Lilac

Introducing Lovely Lilac (Pantone 14-3812 TPX Pastel Lilac), a soft and ethereal hue that brings a breath of fresh air into interiors. This delicate lavenderinfused pastel carries a whisper of nostalgia while feeling undeniably modern. Light and airy, it lends a sense of tranquility and refinement to any space.

Lovely Lilac thrives in both contemporary and classic design settings. Used on walls, it creates a serene, dreamlike atmosphere, perfect for bedrooms or reading nooks. As an upholstery or accent color, it adds a graceful touch, effortlessly complementing neutrals or deeper jewel tones.

Lovely Lilac Inspired Paint Colors

PRO TIP: Always sample the paint in your space before diving in and painting the entire room. Just because it looks fabulous in your friend’s home, doesn’t mean it will look equally as stunning in yours. There are many factors that influence how paint looks in a space.

Follow our “Lovely Lilac" board on Pinterest for more inspiration on using this beautiful color in your home. pinterest.com/ibbdesign/lovelylilac

CREATING GET IBB'D: Luxury MADE Attainable

When I started developing the Get IBB’d program for the upstairs area of our showroom, I kept returning to our Instant: Basic to Beautiful marketing campaign from a few years ago. I also spent a lot of time considering how we could reimagine our current business model—one that already offers an extensive selection of high-end products with quick turnaround times—but in a way that introduces more entry-level luxury pieces. The goal was to provide stylish, accessible options for clients just beginning to build their homes and establish their styles, while still catering to existing clients looking to refresh secondary spaces, furnish second homes, or simply create a fresh, clean palette in a new living environment. This is especially relevant with the growing demand for townhouses and high-rise living.

While the program is divided into three distinct categories, its heart lays in our organic modern collection—the most transitional of them all. Every curated piece featured in this space, from plush mid-centuryinspired seating to beautifully textured accent tables, is available for delivery within just a couple of weeks (barring any unexpected delays or backorders). This extends to power-loomed rugs, accent lighting, and, in some cases, even artwork! Beyond quick availability, I prioritized longevity. I didn’t just want fast; I wanted quality that clients could confidently invest in, knowing these pieces would stand the test of time. Every upholstered piece in the collection is either crafted from highperformance fabric or top-grain leather and is designed to wear and age beautifully.

jory@ibbdesign.com @jory.gattis

Most important, I wanted all of these pieces to be timeless building blocks. If you’re familiar with my design philosophy or have read any of my past articles, you know how much I value investing in classic, timeless staples that can evolve with your style. While many of these pieces are available in a range of finishes and selections, I was intentional in curating finishes that provide flexibility. Whether you decide to update your color palette or introduce bolder, more unique pieces over time, these staple furnishings will be the reliable workhorses that will effortlessly mix and match with anything you add along the way.

Glam Goals

shay@ibbdesign.com @designershay

Photography by Dan Piassick

You may have seen the plans I shared for the glam room and closet I designed for my daughters; and now I’m thrilled to reveal the finished space. It’s quickly become one of the most-loved rooms in our home, and for good reason.

We transformed an underused guest bedroom into a dreamy, multifunctional retreat where my girls can get ready, unwind with friends, and stay stylishly organized. A bold custom wallpaper wraps the ceiling, closet, and bathroom in playful personality, while cabinetry painted in SherwinWilliams Something Blue strikes just the right balance between fun and sophistication.

Every inch of the layout was thoughtfully planned to grow with them. A double vanity makes it easy to get ready side by side, while a full-length mirror and salon chair make the space feel like their very own glam studio. An upholstered bench anchors the center of the room—perfect for lounging, chatting, or trying on shoes.

We also gave the original closet a total makeover. Now, it’s a beautifully organized accessory haven, complete with adjustable shelving, pull-out drawers, and designated spaces for shoes, jewelry, and handbags. Form meets function, and morning routines have never run smoother.

What started as a creative solution to a storage issue became something much more meaningful—a space full of personality, purpose, and memories in the making. It’s a reminder that with a little vision and a lot of love, even the most unexpected rooms can become the heart of the home.

Designing Your Dream Space: Why a Professional Interior Designer is the Key to Success

shannon@ibbdesign.com @designershannongidneyibb

Thinking about refreshing your space, remodeling, or giving your home a whole new look? Don’t go at it alone—hire a professional interior designer!

By inviting us into your home, we can assess the space holistically and uncover possibilities you may not have considered. Our expertise ensures a cohesive, functional, and beautifully designed environment tailored to your needs.

A great designer takes the time to understand your lifestyle, asking the right questions to craft a space that truly fits you. Keeping an open mind and trusting a designer’s expertise lead to the best results.

We specialize in transforming spaces into stunning, functional environments. With knowledge in both design and functionality, we ensure that every element—from wall color to furniture selection—creates a space that is both visually appealing and practical.

Tackling a design project on your own can quickly become overwhelming. As designers, we have access to exclusive resources, vendors, and materials that most people don’t, allowing us to bring fresh ideas to the table. Plus, with proper budgeting and planning from the start, we help prevent costly mistakes and unnecessary stress.

Our goal is to make the design process seamless and enjoyable, bringing creative solutions that enhance your space every day!

Staycationin Your Own Resort

meghan@ibbdesign.com

One of the defining elements of a luxurious hotel stay is the bed and bedding! How many times have you left a hotel raving about the best sleep on the softest sheets? So why do we wait to indulge in our sleep until we go on vacation? Investing in items that will elevate your bedroom to resort standards will make you cherish your time in bed.

You will find that most beds in those lavish resorts have white, crisp bedding. The white allows you to wash various pieces of your bedding at different frequencies without having the pieces fade, so they always match. A higher quality cotton sheet set will just get softer with each wash.

Down inserts in your pillows and duvet make a huge difference and are what give the bed the fluffy, extravagant look. If you prefer your sleeping pillows firm, adding down euro shams to lounge on while reading or watching TV will allow you to sink in and relax.

Having a soft landing to greet your feet when you get in and out of bed is equally important. A

great rug placed under your bed should be wide enough on either side that your feet don’t touch the hard floor. You want your rug placed up to the nightstands (not underneath) with a minimum of a few feet at the foot of the bed.

Lastly, mood lighting is the final touch in giving a resort-like feel. Having lamps on your nightstands, dimmers in your overhead lighting, or a floor lamp by your reading chair really sets the tone for your space. Appropriate lighting helps get you in the right mindset to unwind and truly appreciate all the little luxuries you’ve added to your sacred space.

The bedrooms in the house are usually the last rooms that get attention, as they are only really seen by the homeowners. You spend one third of your life sleeping, so I think it’s time the bedroom got moved up on that priority list. You might find that you prefer your own bedroom instead of waiting to relax in a temporary space. And if you’re feeling extra fancy, add a mint on the pillow!

Choosing the Right Window Treatments: Style Meets Function

Window treatments do more than just provide privacy or block light—they’re a key design element that can transform the look and feel of any room. During an inhome consultation, I always begin by asking a few essential questions to help guide the selection process.

Start with Functionality

Think about what you need the window treatment to do. Do you want to filter light gently, completely darken a room, or preserve your view? Consider features like tilt options, room-darkening fabrics, or stacking styles such as Roman shades, which fold neatly when open. If you enjoy bright, natural light, light-filtering fabrics might be the perfect fit.

Then, Consider Your Style

Your aesthetic preferences will also shape the best choice. For modern or contemporary interiors, sleek options like roller shades, banded shades, Silhouettes®, or Luminette® treatments offer clean lines and understated elegance. Silhouettes work beautifully in transitional spaces as well, bridging traditional and modern elements with ease.

While vertical blinds have been around for decades, they are not just for traditional homes—in fact, we often use them in modern settings, especially for large windows

or sliding glass doors. Their vertical orientation adds a tailored, architectural feel that suits minimalist and contemporary interiors.

Account for Window Shape and Size

Not all windows are created equal. Unique shapes— like arched or eyebrow windows—may require custom or specialty solutions. Sliding glass doors or expansive window walls often pair well with vertical treatments or gliding panels that provide both function and style.

Aim for Cohesion

Finally, think about consistency throughout your home. Do you prefer one treatment style in every room, or a mix that still feels unified? For example, shutters on front-facing windows can enhance curb appeal, while coordinated shades throughout the rest of the house can provide comfort and practicality.

Choosing the right window treatments doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By focusing on function, style, window type, and overall flow, you can create a look that’s both beautiful and practical.

All of the window treatment styles mentioned here are available through Sunrise Blinds, and during your inhome consultation, we can explore the best options tailored to your needs and style.

A JOURNEY OF GRATITUDE AND GROWTH: Reflecting on Retirement

Making the decision to retire is never an easy one, especially when you love what you do and have had the privilege of working with such wonderful, thoughtful clients and colleagues. It’s a bittersweet moment, but one that comes with great appreciation for the experiences along the way.

I’ve always considered myself a people person, and I have been truly fortunate in my career. Almost 18 years ago, Beth Rafferty gave me the opportunity to join IBB Design Group, and for that, I will be forever grateful. I’ve had the pleasure of working with and for such a graceful, brilliant woman, and I’ve been privileged to be a part of the incredible company she has built.

Before joining IBB Design, I had extensive experience managing stores and even owning one in Houston, which allowed me to work with clients and employees from all walks of life. This background in managing merchandising turned out to be invaluable when I transitioned to IBB Design. I quickly learned that understanding your clients—getting to know their backgrounds, families, work, and personal preferences—is essential in helping them make the right decisions. The trust we build with our clients is the foundation of our success.

Over the years, I have been fortunate to work with many lovely clients, and I’ve made lifelong friendships that I treasure deeply. One of the most important lessons I’ve learned along the way is that accountability, paired with professionalism, leaves a lasting impression. It’s something clients don’t forget.

maxine@ibbdesign.com

Another valuable lesson comes from the timeless saying, “The customer is always right.” When we approach each interaction with respect, understanding, and empathy, everything falls into place. Respect truly is the best policy, and it’s something that has guided me throughout my career.

As I close this chapter, I look back with immense gratitude for the people I’ve met and the experiences I’ve had. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’ll carry these lessons with me always.

FIVE Tips for a Summer Home Refresh

kay@ibbdesign.com

@mkaylewis

Here are five easy updates that bring fresh energy and style without a full makeover:

1. Lighten Up with Textiles

Swap out heavy throws, dark pillows, and thick drapes for light, breathable fabrics like linen or cotton in soft neutrals or breezy colors. Think whites, sandy beiges, ocean blues, or sun-washed pastels. These small swaps instantly give your space that airy, summery vibe.

2. Bring the Outdoors In Freshen up your home with greenery! Whether it’s a large fiddle leaf fig, a cluster of potted herbs in the kitchen, or seasonal blooms in your entryway, plants bring life, texture, and a natural pop of color.

3. Update Your Accessories

Switch out decorative accents like trays, vases, and candles for pieces in lighter hues or natural materials—think woven baskets, glass vessels, and ceramics. This is a quick way to refresh your shelves, cocktail table, or kitchen island without major effort.

4. Restyle Your Entryway

First impressions matter! Add a new entry way rug, hang a fresh mirror or artwork, and bring in a stylish console table vignette with a permanent botanical that greets your visitors. It sets the tone for your whole home.

5. Embrace Seasonal Scents

Never underestimate the power of fragrance. Rotate in summer-inspired scents like the IBB Dreammaker candle, diffuser, or room spray with notes of Bergamot, Amber, and Neroli Blossom with Oud Wood. It instantly shifts the mood—even before anyone sees the space.

THE College EDIT!

individual styles. For this bedroom, we embraced an upbeat, mature palette with custom design details that make it feel distinctively hers.

Every college student deserves a space that truly feels like their own, and that’s exactly what we aimed to create with this room!

This space belongs to the roommate of the University of Arkansas student we featured in our Winter 2025 issue. Even though the girls share a home, we wanted each room to reflect their unique personalities and

The heart of the room is a custom-upholstered bed, which provides a cozy, elevated vibe while remaining practical. This bespoke piece helps set the tone for the entire space, offering comfort while maintaining a sophisticated feel. Complementing the bed, we selected a burl wood chest of drawers and a matching desk, which not only offer ample storage but also enhance the room’s overall aesthetic. The desk area

quickly creates a clean, stylish workspace that still feels inviting and warm. Above the desk, a mirror reflects natural light and ties in the gold elements throughout the room, making the space feel larger and brighter.

To elevate the design, we added custom drapery that frames the window, adding a designer touch and a sense of refined elegance. The soft fabric contrasts beautifully with the more structured pieces, creating balance and depth in the room.

Pops of bold color throughout the space—especially in the accessories—reflect her vibrant, youthful

energy and breathe life into the room. These elements not only make the space personal but also bring a fun, dynamic quality to the overall design.

Designing this room was such a rewarding experience. We loved seeing our client’s unique style come to life in the details, and it was a joy to watch the transformation unfold. Now, both roommates have spaces that feel like home and are perfectly suited to this chapter of their college life. Each room is thoughtfully personalized, giving them both a place to unwind and truly be themselves.

TIPS FOR WORKING WITH AN IBB Designer

At IBB Design Fine Furnishings, our talented team of interior designers offers a range of experience, education, and expertise to guide you through the design process with confidence. We believe the most successful projects begin with a thoughtful, in-home consultation—an invaluable opportunity to collaborate, share your vision, and establish a strong foundation for your home’s transformation.

Angela@ibbdesign.com | @angela.davidson.963

1

Start with a Personalized In-Home Consultation

Each of our designers offers in-home consultations at rates based on their background and experience. You can explore individual portfolios and profiles on our website to find the designer whose style and strengths best align with your needs. During the in-home consultation, your chosen designer will meet with you at your home, take measurements and before photos, and walk through each space to discuss your wish list, goals, and how your home functions for you and your family.

2

Trust the Process and Your Designer’s Expertise

The most rewarding design experiences happen when clients fully trust the process and embrace their designer’s expertise. At IBB, we pride ourselves on creating spaces that are not only beautiful but highly functional and personal. By trusting your designer to guide you through layout, scale, color, and material selections, you’re ensuring a curated result that’s both elevated and livable.

3

Be Transparent About Your Budget

Equally important to the success of your project is setting a realistic budget. Being open about your financial comfort zone helps your designer present the best options and avoid surprises. Whether you’re refreshing a single room or furnishing an entire home, having clear parameters allows us to prioritize your investment and create spaces that exceed expectations.

4

Enjoy the Journey

Design is a journey—and with the right professional by your side, it can be seamless, inspiring, and even fun. When you begin with a personalized in-home consultation and clear communication, you’re setting the stage for a transformative experience tailored just for you.

At IBB Design Fine Furnishings, we bring your vision to life, without compromising on quality or sustainability. Thoughtful design and expert craftsmanship are at the heart of what we do, ensuring that your home reflects your style while making a lasting impact.

Unlike mass-market retailers, IBB Design is not in the business of "fast furniture." We take pride in a meticulous design process that prioritizes quality, longevity, and timeless appeal. Investing in wellcrafted furnishings means your pieces won’t just fill a space; they will become cherished heirlooms, passed down for generations rather than discarded. Many retailers rely on lower-quality materials, leading to pieces that wear out quickly and end up in landfills. Our approach is different; We focus on durability and craftsmanship, ensuring that your investment stands the test of time.

Even our quick-ship selections are crafted with the same attention to detail and quality as our custom pieces. Unlike mass-produced, lower-cost alternatives, these carefully curated furnishings are designed to last, offering you both convenience and longevity. With IBB, you never have to sacrifice style or durability for speed.

What sets IBB Design apart is our dedication to customization. Much of our furniture is made to order, meaning we create exactly what you need rather than contributing to excess production.

Our personalized design process allows you to curate pieces that perfectly complement your lifestyle and aesthetic. This trusted approach ensures that every piece is intentionally selected, leading to a more sustainable and transformative design experience.

Sustainability extends beyond materials. It’s also about smart logistics. Our award-winning

showroom is thoughtfully curated with furniture predominantly manufactured in the United States, reducing the need for long-distance shipping. By streamlining our supply chain and consolidating shipments, we create a more efficient, economical, and environmentally responsible process.

At IBB Design, our commitment to exceptional design goes hand in hand with our responsibility to you and the world around us. By choosing quality over convenience, you’re making a choice that benefits your home, your family, and the environment. With our timeless designs and trusted expertise, we help you create a home that is as stylish as it is sustainable.

WHAT’S A GREAT

STEPS FOR SELECTING A CHAIR

DesignTip?

Step one: SIZE. Measure your space. Be sure to account for enough room to maneuver around your furniture.

Step two: STYLE. Identify your style. Are you Modern? Traditional? Transitional? Do you want a skirt or legs? What style of arm suits your home?

Step three: FUNCTIONALITY. Do you need to swivel, or can you use a stationary chair? High back or low back? Do you need to allow space for a view or define the area with a tall back?

Step four: FINISHES. Pick a fabric that complements your space. If there is a wood finish, think about whether you want to blend or contrast with existing tones.

Step five: PURCHASE. Find the perfect item in stock at IBB, or work with one of our designers to custom order your dream chair!

OUTDOOR RUGS ARE ESSENTIAL

Outdoor rugs are a great way to add style and comfort to your exterior spaces. Choose durable, weather-resistant materials like polypropylene or sisal to withstand the elements. Make sure the rug is large enough to define the seating areas. Consider patterns or textures that complement your outdoor furniture and be mindful of rug placement for easy maintenance. To protect the rug and extend its life, use an outdoor rug pad for added stability and ventilation.

PET-FRIENDLY SPACES WITHOUT SACRIFICING STYLE

Performance fabrics are a pet owner’s best friend! These durable, stainresistant materials are perfect for furniture, as they resist spills and scratches. Look for fabrics like Sunbrella or Crypton, which are easy to clean and maintain their beauty over time. With performance fabrics, you can enjoy your well-designed, low-maintenance home while your pets roam freely—without worrying about damage or stains. Plus, they come in a variety of colors and textures, so you can find the perfect match for your design.

ADD LUXE TO YOUR ROOM

The easiest way to add luxe to your rooms is with accessories.

Luxurious velvet pillows with decorative tape trim add rich texture to your sofa, chair, or bed.

Silvered glass lamps with rock crystals add the sparkle to tables beside your sofa, nightstands, or credenzas in your entry or dining room. Orchid arrangements with crystals add a rich touch to your cocktail or dining tables.

Our new IBB Dreammaker room scents- candle, spray, and diffuser add the final touch.

Chic GETAWAY

shay@ibbdesign.com

@designershay

Designing a home on Florida’s iconic 30A means more than creating a beautiful space. It’s about capturing the soul of the coast. In one of our most transformative beachfront projects to date, our team at IBB Design Fine Furnishings took on a full gut remodel that completely reimagined a three-story home perched steps from the sugar-white sands and turquoise waters of the Emerald Coast. From the start, our goal was clear: Honor the view, embrace the surroundings, and deliver effortless luxury with function and flair. The original layout, though full of potential, failed to take full advantage of the home’s remarkable beachfront setting. So, we started from scratch—reworking every square inch of the floor plan to open up the interiors, improve the flow, and draw the eye to the most important feature: the ocean.

Photography by Dan Piassick

Living ROOM

A key part of the redesign was adding an elevator to make all three levels easily accessible for family and guests alike. This not only brought a new level of convenience, but also allowed a thoughtful reallocation of space on each floor to prioritize comfort and connection. We restructured the main living areas to feature expansive glass doors and oversized windows, framing the sweeping Gulf views like works of art. Generous balconies and indoor-outdoor spaces now extend the living areas and make the most of the home’s coastal location.

When it came to the design palette, we found endless inspiration just beyond the glass. The ombré tones of the Gulf—fading from crystal aqua to deep teal—became a driving force behind our selections. We layered sun-washed blues, sandy taupes, and punchy pastels throughout the home, creating a soothing, cohesive story that carries from room to room.

As the sun dips over the water each evening, the skies of 30A come alive with color, and we wanted to bring a touch of that magic indoors. Subtle pink accents and warm golden tones echo the Florida sunsets without overpowering the home’s serene aesthetic. From the textiles to the art to the carefully curated accessories, every detail was chosen to reflect the natural beauty just outside the door.

The primary bath continues the theme with a blue ottoman that adds a fun pop of color. Gold accents in the mirrors, cabinet hardware, lighting, and faucets pull everything together for a polished and luxurious look.

Built-in shelving and a muted blue patterned wallpaper make this study feel sophisticated yet calming. A neutral rug and drapery keep things soft, while blue accents in the seating and shelf decor tie the space back to the rest of the home.

Secondary Bedrooms

Each of the secondary bedrooms has its own unique feel. One features hand-painted stripes with coral accents, creating a breezy, Greek island-inspired vibe. Another was transformed into a serene yoga

room, complete with a custom hand-painted wall pattern. The last has a more masculine feel with brown leather and deep navy tones that exude a rich, restful atmosphere.

Media & Gameroom

Both the media and game rooms were designed with entertaining in mind. The neutral color palette keeps things versatile, while pops of color in the decor add personality and life. The media room is the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a movie with plenty of comfortable seating and a relaxed vibe.

The game room is made for hosting, featuring a pool table, lots of seating, and fun shelving styled with colorful bottles and candy, bringing an extra touch of color and playfulness to the space— everything you need for a good time with friends and family!

Outdoor Entertaining

The outdoor living space is an extension of the home’s style, with plenty of blue tones and inviting seating perfect for hosting or unwinding. Whether enjoying a meal, a glass of wine, entertaining friends, or just relaxing, this space is designed to be as comfortable as it is beautiful.

5 Easy Changes for Simplified RoutineS

lyndsey.morgan@neatmethod.com | neatmethod.com @neatmethod and @FriscoNeat

Photography Courtesy of NEAT

Going through the motions of daily tasks doesn't have to be chaotic. If you find yourself struggling to get out the door or keep trash from accumulating in your car, we have a few solutions that can help. Simplify your daily routines with these five easy steps. It might not change your life, but we promise it will make it a little easier...

1. Remove snacks from boxes

Spend a few minutes unboxing packaged snacks like granola bars, applesauce pouches, and fruit snacks and place them in an open bin or basket. This may take extra time when you're putting your groceries away, but it will ultimately save time when it matters most - aka running out the door on your way to soccer practice.

2. Keep a trash can in your car

The cluttered car struggle is real. Keep it in check with a car trash can to corral snack wrappers, napkins, and other odds and ends that collect in the back seat. Empty it when full and enjoy a car that is free from trash.

3. Designate a donation spot in your home

Regularly donating items that no longer fit or aren't

being used is an important part of keeping your home NEAT. Instead of the typical trash bag in the corner, invest in a permanent bin specifically for this purpose. Place it out of the way in a spare closet or on a garage shelf. Once it's full, place the contents in the car to be dropped off.

4. Create an exit bin

Identify that one thing you or your family members are always running back inside for. Whatever it issocks, sunblock, sunglasses - gather them in a small bin and place them by your most common exit for easy access. Restock as necessary.

5. Stock up on favorites

If you often find yourself tossing aside the same pair of socks, tank top, or tee in favor of a different style, we're giving you permission to finally say goodbye. Take 15 minutes to pull that category out, remove the styles you don't like for donation, and order more of the ones you do.
