Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) was relaunched in June 2015 by Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi with the goal of establishing infrastructure that could offer accurate sewage networks and water supplies for urban development. States were required to propose an annual plan to restructure the various amenities under the AMRUT Plan. Rajasthan submitted a State Annual Action Plan under AMRUT plan, being the first state in the nation to do so. Housing for All by 2022 and the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) were both launched on the same day. The scheme is based on the public–private partnership (PPP) model. Various other schemes, such as the Swachh Bharat Mission and Housing for All 2022, as well as local state schemes such as water supply and sewerage, and other infrastructure-related schemes, can be linked to AMRUT if necessary. Aim of AMRUT 2.0 : The purpose of AMRUT is : •
To ensure that each and every family has a tap and guaranteed supply of clean drinking water and a proper sewerage system.
•
To increase the resource value of cities by creating greenery and well-kept open spaces (e.g. parks)
•
To reduce pollution by using public transportation or building non-motorized transportation facilities (e.g.walking and cycling).
