A Report, Workshop Review and Action Plan covering the contribution, debate, hopes and visions of 40 individuals and organisations during a retreat at Global Cooperation House, Oxford in 1998.
Ian Lewis FRSA FInstL undertook the collation and publication of this report.
Wide-rangeing and very well informed, it outlines the huge potential available to both the UK and the world as far as experiential education, outdoor learning and values development currently available within the UK education system.
The summary: "Everyone knows and understands the value of Outdoor Learning[The Outdoors] and the huge contribution made to society, globally, through its teachings and learnings. Few realise the loss which will be caused through the weakening of its presence should changes be made to youthwork, school & outdoor resources or edcational expertise in any of these areas. it is in the experiencing, aquision and application of values that society will be so very much more hte poorer."
