Wes Anderson in a Wabi Sabi World
I’ve always found Wes Anderson’s color palette to be quite whimsical and have enjoyed watching a few of his films in the past Being partial to both green and terracotta hues, it was a pleasure to draw inspiration from his palette and use them in designing the space I’ve also been reading about Wabi Sabi design recently, and I was intrigued about combining the two Indeed, there’s beauty in imperfection and merging the world of Wes Anderson into Wabi Sabi philosophy creates a fascinating atmosphere that feels both quirky and surreal When it came to selecting furniture, I
picked ones that have an organic shape with finishes and fabrics that are very tactile and textured such as boucle, stone, clay, plaster, and metal

Rendered Perspective | Design Proposal #3
I had the most fun with this design because of the color palette I borrowed from the movie, Crazy Rich Asians. The film itself was quite engaging so applying that vibrant energy to interior design was a delight. Because of its rich color palette, I wanted the space to feel youthful and fun, so the furniture I selected had lots of playful curves that also have a contemporary flair. I also swapped the wood slat wall with gold and blue wallpaper to add a splash of glam to the space. Pink was a pleasant surprise for me. With the right tint/shade, I found that it can be a bold and dynamic color choice!
