However, just like there is one common point between apples and oranges, they are both fruits. Similarly, both waterproof and fireproof plywood come under the same category of plywood, but they both have different functions and different use cases.

But if you ever find yourself in a situation where you can only get one type of plywood, and you are stuck in between these two, then the preferred choice would be fire-retardant plywood. The reason is that fireproof plywood is better from a safety point of view, and it also has a lot more use cases than waterproof plywood.
