Iain has created his own bold visual language and motifs, referencing urban links and contemporary imagery exploring the abstract image and mark-making within an expressionistic form.
Working between large scale raw canvas and works on paper he combines textures, energetic marks and a deft use of colour, sometimes restrained, other times unrestricted and highly primal.
The most recent body of works have seen him exploring the use of negative space within his paintings to explore a more minimal sense of composition and dynamic.
He has worked with Universal Tomorrow (Manchester), The Artistry House (Preston), Atlantic Contemporary Art Ltd (Ribble Valley) and the Haworth Art Gallery (Accrington).
A number of artworks are currently on show at the UNITOM arts venue (Manchester), Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery, Haworth Art Gallery (Accrington) and Warrington Museum & Art Gallery.
His work has been purchased for domestic & corporate collections, both nationally and internationally. Iain lives and works in Lancashire, United Kingdom.
